Chapter 26 - Chapter 026: Finally Shipped!

With that thought, Akashi made his decision without hesitation.

"System, I want to check in!"

The next moment, a soft 'click' echoed in his mind.

On the system's check-in interface, an image of Teitan Elementary School's classroom appeared. The scene then transformed into a brilliant swirl of purple and gold light.

As the lights merged, they condensed into the form of a treasure chest.

The chest creaked open, releasing several radiant streams of light that scattered before him.

『Ding! Check-in successful. Congratulations to the host for obtaining the following items: Liberal Arts Girl's Glasses ×1, Weird Spinach ×3, Hypnosis Skill Lv1, and Rapid Fire Shot Lv1! 』

『Ding! Hypnosis skill leveled up! It is now Lv2! 』

『Ding! Item Inventory unlocked. All items obtained through check-ins are automatically stored in the item Inventory. Once taken out, they cannot be retrieved! 』

As the system prompts echoed in his mind, Akashi's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"This… this is amazing!" he thought, his lips curling into a satisfied smile.

Teitan Elementary School, it seemed, was truly a treasure trove.

In an instant, any lingering resentment he had toward being at the elementary school vanished entirely. He eagerly began reviewing his newly acquired items and skills.

---

『Liberal Arts Girl's Glasses: When worn, these glasses increase your charm, alter others' perceptions of you, and transform you into the ideal vision of a 'liberal arts girl' in their eyes.』

『Special Effect: When worn in a library, the likelihood of encountering a blond-haired individual who will strike up a conversation increases dramatically.』

Akashi stared blankly at the description, his excitement replaced by sheer disbelief.

"What… what is this nonsense?"

He groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Why would I ever wear these glasses in a library? Jump off a building before I do that! And why would I care about meeting a blond-haired stranger?"

He glanced at the glasses in his inventory, his annoyance mounting.

"This thing is ridiculous! Absolutely useless! It's better off sealed away forever," he muttered under his breath.

Then his expression shifted—his sharp mind already spinning with ideas.

"Wait a minute… Conan wears glasses, doesn't he? What if I gave these to him instead? Let him enjoy the 'joys' of meeting some random blond-haired person!"

A devilish grin spread across Akashi's face.

"Oh, I like this idea!"

He rubbed his chin, considering further.

"Better yet, this effect only triggers in libraries. Outside of that, the glasses are still just regular props. And there 'is' someone at home who wears glasses—Eri! Imagine turning Eri into the liberal arts version of herself…"

The possibilities seemed endless. His grin grew even wider.

"Yes, yes, this could work too!"

His adult intelligence allowed him to quickly devise multiple clever uses for the glasses.

"Props with side effects aren't necessarily bad. It all depends on how you use them," he mused, his thoughts brimming with excitement.

With his mind at ease, Akashi let out a contented sigh.

"Alright, fine. These glasses can stay in my collection. For now."

The next item appeared in Akashi's inventory.

『Weird Power Spinach: From the world of Popeye. Consuming this grants a temporary strength increase of 30 points for two hours, with no side effects.』

Akashi's eyes lit up.

"This is it! Finally, something I can actually use to protect myself."

Although the strength boost was temporary, it was still incredibly valuable. After all, the system rarely gave him anything genuinely practical.

"Alright, let's see the last one," he muttered, moving on to the next reward.

『Rapid Fire Shot Lv1 Lv1: Each shot fired becomes progressively stronger, up to seven consecutive shots! Adaptable to anything that can be shot.』

Akashi stared at the description in disbelief.

"F@ck! I just praised you for being serious, and you're already back to your old tricks. Seven shots? Is that all I'm good for? You underestimate me!"

He tapped the interface, grumbling.

"Translation, please! What does 'each shot becomes stronger' even mean?"

But the system remained silent, feigning ignorance as usual.

Akashi felt an overwhelming urge to sigh but quickly noticed a key phrase in the description: Adaptable to anything that can be shot.

His thoughts sharpened.

"Wait… this is important. Bows, arrows, bullets, rockets, missiles—all of these count. If this applies universally, it means every shot I take will grow stronger! That's a combat skill, no doubt about it."

For a moment, he contemplated the implications of his discovery.

All in all, this check-in had been a significant gain. Weird Power Spinach for strength, a new combat skill, and other treasures made Akashi quite satisfied. However, one issue remained—he needed a weapon to use his new skill effectively.

"Now, how do I get my hands on a gun?" he thought.

Akashi's mind wandered to his past. When he operated under the codename Bacardi in the organization, he'd had access to plenty of funds. But now, using those accounts was out of the question. Any movement would alert the organization to the fact that he was still alive.

"No, I can't be that reckless," he mused.

Back then, he'd secretly saved a portion of his funds and entrusted them to someone he cared about—a woman he'd rescued from the organization. He'd instructed her to hide and live a peaceful life, far from danger.

A wistful image of the woman flashed in his mind, her silhouette vivid yet distant.

"That was also the mistake that got me caught," he thought bitterly. "Gin saw through it, and I was purged because of her."

Now, Akashi found himself broke, with no money and only a handful of useful points.

"Maybe I could find a rich woman to fund me… or hold on to Eri's thigh and ask her for cash to buy weapons?"

He shook his head firmly.

"No way. I'm not that kind of man. External things like money won't bring me down. I'll think of another way."

As his thoughts churned, the sharp sound of a bell interrupted him.

---

Suddenly, the classroom erupted in chaos. Before Akashi could react, he was surrounded by a horde of little girls—all eager to talk to him.

"Akashi-kun, let's be friends!" they cried.

Elementary school students, as impulsive as ever, crowded around him without a second thought. Conan, meanwhile, was shoved aside in the frenzy, his presence entirely ignored.

"Is it really that exaggerated?" Conan muttered, glancing around.

He wasn't alone. Two familiar figures stood beside him—Genta and Mitsuhiko.

"Even Ayumi's acting like this!" Mitsuhiko grumbled, watching Ayumi among the crowd. "She's part of our Detective Boys group. Why would she want to play with someone else?"

Conan rolled his eyes. "Are kids these days really this precocious?"

---

Meanwhile, Akashi found himself at the center of unwanted attention. The noise from the gaggle of girls was overwhelming.

To Akashi, who had lived two lifetimes, these elementary schoolers were nothing but a headache. He had no interest in them whatsoever—he wasn't a pervert.

"The only person I care about is my big sister," he thought.

However, his natural charm, amplified by his succubus abilities, made the situation worse. More girls gathered around him, even ones from neighboring classes. Soon, upperclassmen began flooding in to catch a glimpse of the "super handsome" transfer student.

Unable to move, Akashi felt trapped in a whirlwind of admiration.

---

Just then, their homeroom teacher, Sumiko, stormed in, holding her wooden ruler.

"What's going on here?" she demanded, her voice stern. "Are you all bullying the new student?"

The girls immediately scattered like startled birds. Only Ayumi remained, her voice earnest.

"We weren't bullying him, Sensei. We just wanted to be friends with Akashi-kun!"

Sumiko frowned. "That's no way to make friends. You'll scare him off."

Turning to the rest of the class, she barked, "Everyone, back to your seats and classroom!"

The students reluctantly obeyed. Meanwhile, the boys, who had no part in the commotion, glared at Akashi with envious eyes.

Sumiko gestured to Akashi.

"Akashi-kun, come with me to the office. The rest of you, prepare for class!"

Her stern tone silenced any complaints, and recess was officially over.

With no choice, Akashi followed Sumiko out of the room, step by step.

The office, when they arrived, was eerily empty.
