Chapter 58 - Dungeon boss, Leon

Lyra and Adam released a blinding flash of light, teleporting directly into the dungeon. Waves of creatures surged towards them, but Adam walked calmly, absorbing each one into his dimension. Lyra's scans pinpointed the boss's location, and Adam continued his path, consuming every creature in their way.

They reached an intersection where other dungeon paths converged. Creatures from these alternate routes would soon pour out if not contained. Adam, thinking quickly, created a teleportation portal for these side paths, connecting it to Lyra as the exit point. Lyra, holding the portal open, deftly directed the incoming creatures into a dimension rift they had set up, trapping them and preventing their escape into the main dungeon.

Taming the Dungeon Boss

They finally reached the dungeon boss: a skeleton knight. Lyra's scan revealed that the knight wore the gear of a former otherworlder who had been a skilled knight. Though the dungeon itself wasn't particularly strong, the otherworlder it originated from would have been around Level 50, significantly more powerful than most humans.

"The best way to beat it is to kill it," Lyra stated.

"Is there another way?" Adam asked.

Lyra quickly sifted through theories and exceptions. "Yes," she confirmed. "You could tame it. But that would require the will of the dungeon boss to close the dungeon."

Adam told Lyra to analyze how to tame it while he practiced fighting. Lyra, intrigued, began researching ancient taming skills.

The skeleton knight repeatedly struck Adam's barrier, the blows causing barely any knockback. Compared to the Yellow Zone creatures, this knight was remarkably weak.

However, it wielded artifacts belonging to the otherworlder, allowing it to summon multiple doppelgangers of itself. These copies were proficient with various weapons, unleashing a barrage of attacks that, despite the barrier, would overwhelm any normal adventurer.

Their sheer numbers and apparent immortality would make them impossible for most humans to defeat.

Adam realized the utility of such creatures. "Their ability could be useful as manpower," he told Lyra, "for labor, farming, or even as guards." Lyra agreed.

Lyra then provided specific instructions for the taming magic, a complex combination of dark elemental spells. Adam quickly internalized the intricate casting system. He created the contract and infused it with an immense amount of mana.

The skeleton knight immediately surrendered, accepting the taming. However, due to the high concentration of mana infused into it, the skeleton knight began to evolve, developing human-like features.

"Due to the high concentration of mana," Lyra explained, "the creature was able to evolve in a form best suited for you, Adam. You can give it a name."

Adam pondered, then decided on a simple name: "Leon."

Thanks to their neural link, Leon instantly gained intelligence and the ability to converse in their language, a testament to Lyra's AI capabilities. Adam then commanded Leon to close the dungeon. In a matter of seconds, the entire dungeon was absorbed into the newly evolved skeleton knight.
