Chapter 62 - Diplomatic proposal

"Courting someone takes time and effort, based on the art of love in this world," Lyra stated openly, analyzing the situation. "It wasn't really a rejection in that sense." She added that she'd noticed fluctuations in Emily's mana every time Emily looked at him.

Adam, hearing Lyra's encouraging words, felt a surge of excitement. He quickly convinced himself and, by extension, Lyra and Leon, that it wasn't a rejection at all. "She was just focused on her duty!" he declared, though he was mostly trying to convince himself. Leon simply nodded in agreement.

Adam took a bite of his food, a triumphant grin on his face. "Emily noticed me! Her mana fluctuated, which means she likes me!" Lyra, feeding into his ego, readily agreed that Emily likely had some attraction towards him. Leon continued his enthusiastic nodding.

Satisfied by the encouragement, Adam and his companions finished their meal and set off.

A Royal Confrontation

Lyra pinpointed the exact location of the true King, and Adam, Lyra, and Leon began their continuous teleportation. In an instant, they appeared beside King Wayne, shocking him and his guards into defensive stances. Adam raised his hand, holding the royal decree and a bag of gold coins. The King, recognizing his brother's seal, demanded an explanation.

"The current situation is dire," Adam stated, his voice firm. "I prefer to speak to you alone."

Seeing his brother's decree, King Wayne trusted Adam's words and entered the tent with only Adam. Adam knelt, asking permission to speak. The King quickly bid him rise and urged him to explain the turmoil within his kingdom.

Adam had a long, detailed conversation with King Wayne, exposing his younger brother's treasonous plot and plans for war. King Wayne erupted in a furious roar. "Damn that filthy pig!" he shouted. Guards rushed in, only to be dismissed by a furious wave of the King's hand.

Adam advised the King to calm his rage and think rationally before making any moves, cautioning that spies might be among the guards, and the information could quickly reach his brother. As King Wayne regained his composure, he introduced himself as Wayne Arthur, the first son of King Arthur II.

He explained his father's wish for him to become strong and protect his people, a duty he had embraced by gaining experience through his travels. He knew his brother's lack of humanity and his casual disregard for human life, but he never expected him to plot fratricide for the throne.

With the undeniable evidence of his brother's betrayal laid out, King Wayne fell deep into thought. He understood that his younger brother had already swayed nobles to his side, and a civil war would inevitably erupt, putting thousands of lives at stake.

A Daring Proposal

Adam then proposed a daring idea. The King listened intently as Adam suggested seeking help from the King of Damarsh. A united front between the two kingdoms, fostered by trade and economic growth, would significantly reduce the temptation for nobles to commit treason. Beyond the economic benefits, the sheer power and might of the Damarsh army would deter any attempts to dethrone him.

"But that would take months to execute!" King Wayne protested, "It's not possible."

"Nope," Adam retorted, a confident smirk playing on his lips. "It will only take a few hours."

King Wayne stared, speechless, thinking Adam was mad.

"Just agree to my proposal," Adam pressed, "and it will be done now."

The King, intrigued and perhaps a little desperate, decided to take a gamble. He agreed, curious to see if Adam was truly insane or if such a feat was genuinely possible. In an instant, Adam teleported both himself and King Wayne directly in front of the King of Damarsh.

Adam has just initiated a momentous diplomatic event by teleporting King Wayne directly to the King of Damarsh.
