Family Bonds and Lingering Thoughts
Two weeks passed, and Adam's workload finally eased, allowing him more time with his family. Arthur, thriving under Albert's business acumen, grew more confident and outgoing, shedding his introverted shell.
During a rare day off, the family went out together. Arthur often found himself giving Alynna piggyback rides, unable to resist her playful demands. Alyssa, always the responsible one, tried to rein in her sister's antics. Arthur, however, was simply content with his newfound family.
Alyssa, eager to contribute, expressed a desire to learn from her mother about identifying ingredients, enjoying the feeling of being needed and praised. Adam, too, found solace in playful moments, using his powers to make the twins fly or create fireworks for their amusement.
Despite the joy, Emily's continued absence weighed on Adam. Lyra assured him that the Above had confirmed her return, but it depended on how long Emily needed to resolve her past life with her parents. Adam accepted this, choosing to believe in Emily.
Lyra, who had been Adam's constant companion since the beginning, subtly pushed their boundaries in bed. Adam, still unsure about what had transpired that night and increasingly reflective, often found his thoughts drifting to Emily.
Lyra, sensing his mind, would playfully tease him, kissing his neck or touching him. Initially, Adam would push her away, but gradually, he grew accustomed to her advances, though his mind remained fixated on Emily.
Lyra cherished these private moments, experiencing new feelings and sensations. Adam always stopped her from going too far. He understood her desire to experience human emotion but also didn't want to betray Emily's trust.
What Adam didn't realize was the profound truth of Lyra's being. While he viewed her as a super-intelligent AI in a human body for research, Lyra's newly created body was, in fact, capable of both production and love.
Unbeknownst to Adam, the Above had imbued Lyra with a soul, the very essence of her burgeoning emotions and her capacity to truly be human. Emily knew this. She also knew the rules the Above had initially set for Lyra.
Emily had told Lyra that if, for any reason, she couldn't be there for Adam, she expected Lyra to take over as his wife. Emily trusted Lyra enough to accept that Adam's needs would be taken care of by someone she knew and trusted, rather than by a stranger or someone who might exploit him. She preferred Lyra to step up and protect her future husband's needs before other women approached him.
