Adam, having gained a deeper understanding of The Order, told Bart he was free to go, promising to return his assailants unharmed. Lyra, analyzing the situation, understood Adam's decision. The Order wasn't inherently evil; their purpose was to maintain humanity's survival and prevent extinction.
Adam reflected on heroes who weren't executed but helped human kingdoms, believing The Order could be reasoned with. Bart, humbled, remarked that he hoped they wouldn't cross paths as enemies again. He thanked Adam for his understanding and generosity, acknowledging Adam's restraint. He promised to relay his observations to The Order, hoping to change their perception of Adam.
Bart then challenged Leon to another battle one day, which Leon eagerly accepted. Adam released all the assailants and Bart from the dimension, reassuring the Damarsh knights that everything was resolved before relaying the same message to King Daniel.
Adam hugged his family, now safe outside the dimension. He commended Arthur for his quick thinking and hugged him, grateful for saving Albert's life. Adam acknowledged the matter was resolved for now, but he needed to create protective measures for each of them should a similar attack occur.
Lyra agreed on the need for preparedness. Alyssa and Alynna, however, confidently declared their safety with Leon, praising his speed and strength. Adam laughed, easing the tension, and the parents expressed their relief. Adam suggested they spend quality time together, and Leon and Lyra assured them they would handle the kingdom's issues. Adam, blushing, acknowledged Lyra's neuro-linked reminder that he "owed her for tonight."
A Dragon Continent Retreat
Adam then teleported his family to the Dragon Continent, to a serene and beautiful lake nestled above the clouds. The secluded spot offered clear water and stunning views, far from any danger. The twins marveled at being so high up, splashing in the crystal-clear lake.
Adam created a warm field around them, making the mountain air comfortable, and conjured a small house and a campfire by the lake. Arthur, still amazed by Adam's abilities, enjoyed his time with his new family. Lyra and Leon prepared the barbecue while Helena and Albert set up tables by the lake.
Helena and Albert even taught Lyra about swimming costumes, asking her to help Adam create some for the family. With Lyra's help, Adam created swimming costumes and various other clothes.
As Leon handled the barbecue, another Leon duplicate joined the family. Soon, everyone was swimming and playing in the lake. Alyssa and Alynna ventured into a small cave, crawling inside. To everyone's surprise, they emerged dragging two large, unhatched eggs and showed them to the family, along with the shell of a third, already hatched egg.
Albert asked where they found them, and the twins gleefully pointed to the cave. Lyra identified them as dragon eggs. Adam warned them about the danger of taking them. However, Lyra scanned the area and noted the eggs seemed abandoned. The hatched egg had been premature, its decomposed body found a few hundred meters away.
Alyssa and Alynna pleaded to keep the eggs, fearing they would suffer the same fate. Adam's parents looked at him, and he finally agreed, "As long as you take responsibility." He brought the eggs into the warm field he had created. Lyra detected movement inside.
New Family Members
They set the eggs near the campfire as everyone dried off and changed in the house. They then gathered around the table, eating, chatting, and playing until nightfall. As the night deepened, they cuddled near the campfire, singing and reminiscing about how much their lives had changed for the better. Alyssa and Alynna cradled their eggs like babies, proclaiming their future dragons would be powerful, bickering over whose would be stronger.
As they chatted, both eggs cracked. From them emerged two baby dragons: Alynna's a fire dragon, and Alyssa's an ice dragon. Their personalities seemed to perfectly match the twins. The dragons, seeing the twins first, immediately treated them as their parents.
Adam had prepared meat for them. The baby dragons ate, then nestled between the twins' legs, falling asleep. Albert and Helena observed the children's gentle care for their new pets and guided them on how to nurture them.
As the night continued, Alyssa and Alynna brought their baby dragons into the bedroom, sleeping beside them. Slowly, everyone else retired to the house.
Adam sat beside Lyra. "I couldn't be here without you," he whispered, thanking her for everything. Lyra held Adam's hand, and they kissed under the moonlight.
