Chapter 2 - Ah Yuan

"Master! Don't be alarmed. I am currently residing in your sea of consciousness." the voice sounded again, Carrying the delicate clarity of a young girl's tone .

"who are you!" Qichen calmed down a little but was still on high alert

"Master, I was the myriad extraction system. Now I'm just an entity not bound by the rules of the universe but still has its previous functions, even to a greater extent than before." The voice said.

Qichen was stunned.

"You said you're a system?" Qichen asked. How could he not know what systems are.

"Master, I used to be." The voice explained calmly, each word precise.

Qichen now understood, but his shock was greater.

"While I was going to get my next host, something took me and broke the rules bounding me to the universes and forcibly bound me to you." The voice said again.

"A system bound to me? Those I've read about were still bound by the universe. And you're saying something broke the rules that bound you? Who could do such a thing?" Qichen asked, His voice edged with disbelief.

"I don't know." the voice said. "Even now, I do not understand what I've become. I am no longer a system and yet I obey. Strange, isn't it?"

Qichen thought for a moment and decided to put it at the back of his head for now. He was almost killed and didn't want to dive into that now.

He wasn't strong enough to dig deep. "Alright. What are your functions?"

"I currently have one function which is of use to you."

"You can only extract once a year."

"Once a year? Isn't that too far." Qichen asked a little discontent.

"Master, as this is your first extraction, what you receive will be overpowered.

Its power will far exceed your current limits.

You may grasp it, but you will not yet wield it fully. "

"It would also be of great help to you in the future." The voice said trying to sound convincing as much possible.

"Okay then." Qichen could only sigh. "Do I have a chance to check in now?"

"Yes master, you have one chance to check in now."

"What are we waiting for, check in" Qichen said hurriedly

"Yes Master. Extracting 1…2…10….30…70….99…..100. Extraction complete. You have obtained: The Chaos Sword Of Annihilation, Boundless Storage Pagoda, The Omnia Orb, An Immortal Emperor peak-realm puppet, and One million top-grade spiritual stones.

"The information about the things extracted has been sent into your mind. You'll understand their functions after checking." The voice said

Qichen nodded and checked. After checking, his eyes widened.

"So these are the treasures I extracted…"

He carefully read through each one.

The Chaos Sword Of Annihilation, Boundless Storage Pagoda, Omnia Orb.

He was surprised just by their Level and functions.

Although he couldn't use some like The Chaos Sword Of Annihilation and Omnia Orb.

The only reason he could use the boundless storage pagoda was because of its role it serves, not because of its level.

Its level is the same as The Chaos Sword of Annihilation. He could only use a fraction of its power.

He didn't have to look for cultivation resources with the one million top-grade spiritual stones

Qichen now knew why it was a year apart for each extraction.

"Hmm… If I crush this golden card, would the immortal emperor puppet be summoned?" Qichen looked at the golden card that was levitating on his hand and asked.

There were golden patterns around the card.

"Yes master. Once you crush the card, you'll summon an immortal emperor puppet which would be permanently bound your soul."

"Hmm…!" Qichen looked at the card in his hand and kept it away.

"You're not just some system anymore, so… do you have a name, or should I give you one? 'Former system' doesn't quite cut it."

"You can give me a name master."

"Hmm… Okay then. Let me think a little." Qichen held his chin.

"What about I call you 'Ah Yuan'. Thats the best I can come up with." Qichen scratched his head a little.

"A simple name… but it has a nice feeling to it," she said with a light chuckle. "I think it suits me, Master."

"I'm just glad you like it." Qichen wiped the non-existing sweat on his forehead.

"growl!" His stomach let out a deep protest.

Qichen held his belly and looked at his surroundings.

"If I had know, I should have let one left intact." He said looking at the leftover pool of blood.

Even the body of the Blood-eyed wolf were turned to shreds.

He took a step planning to go a little deeper into the mountain range when he smelled something unpleasant.

He looked down and was stunned.

A thick, foul smelling black sludge clung to his skin, coating him from head to toe like tar. He hadn't noticed it earlier, not with everything that had just happened, the twelve-colored light, the voice in his head, the system, all of it.

But now that the rush had faded, the stench hit him like a slap. It was sticky, putrid, and clung like a second skin.

"Ugh… what the hell is this?!" Qichen said with disgust. He instinctively tried to scrape it off, but it only smeared worse.

"I need to find a river. Now."

That said, he made his way deeper into the mountain range, hoping to wash this filth off before it seeped any deeper.

After walking for hours, he met a group of cultivators. Whenever he tried approaching to ask if they knew where the river was, he'd get shouted at and scolded for how bad he smelled.

They wouldn't even let him get within twenty meters of them, as if they were trying to keep something to themselves. It was the same with everyone he met. It was really frustrating!

They either looked at him with a cautious look in their eyes or threatened him not to come anywhere near them. He still didn't find a river or get anything to eat for hours.

"Miss, we should be careful and wait for the lord. We don't know what happened to the mountain range that caused it to be so mysteriously quiet." A nearby voice was heard causing Qichen to stop in his track.

"Even during those ten hours, cultivators who entered would run back as if they couldn't stay here for a second longer."

"Enough! Let's go." A girls voice refuted. "Nothing can happen to me. Even the four families don't dare to do it so openly with everyone around."

"We have to find out what caused it. And if it's a treasure, just think what kind of treasure could be so powerful." Her voice sounded eager.

"No, miss. Even an Innate Realm cultivator inside the range fainted when it began. And during those ten hours, none could enter," the man said, trying his best to sound convincing.

"I've already made up my mind. What if the four families get hold of the treasure? Just think about what would happen after that. Not even my father can keep them in check." The girl shouted

"This...!" The man couldn't say anything to refute. He didn't expect it to be so serious.

"Who's there...!" The girl looked in the direction of Qichen with vigilant eyes.

Hearing this, the man and guards around him also became alert.

Qichen at the other side was shocked. He didn't make any noise, so how could he be so easily discovered?

.He didn't want to show himself before, but now that he'd been discovered, he had no options, or they'd think he came to spy on them.

From what he heard, he understood that what happened to him caused the entire mountain range to experience a mysterious quietness, letting them think a treasure had appeared.

Qichen slowly approached with an embarrassed look.

"Hmm...!" The moment Qichen stepped out, the girl quickly covered her nose and looked at him with a look of disgust.

"Hmm...!" A second or two later, the young-looking man also held his nose, followed by the guards around them.

"Stay back!" The girl shouted while still holding her nose, making her sound funny.

Qichen had already expected their reaction, so he wasn't as taken aback as before. He looked at the girl who shouted and was a little surprised.

She had a beautiful face with bright skin that glowed in the sunlight, slightly long legs, and red lips.

She was around 14 - 15 years old. Although her beauty wasn't mesmerizing to the extent of drooling, it was enough to call one of the best beauties in a city. The young man beside her had an average appearance.

Qichen quickly apologized. "Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you. I was just passing by." Qichen smiled a little, making him look creepier with the black mass covering his face.

The young man looked at Qichen with narrowed eyes, he could tell that Qichen was currently in level one of Qi Condensation.

Even though he couldn't tell Qichen's exact age, he thought he was younger than his miss by maybe a year. But still, he didn't take Qichen seriously at all. He even felt disdain.

Even though this boy was in Qi Condensation level one, his talent couldn't compare to his young miss, who was already at Qi Condensation level 5.

"Boy, you should leave, or we won't be polite," the young man said.

Qichen nodded. With how smelly he was, he couldn't even argue. He turned around and started walking in the other direction.

"Wait!" The young man shouted at Qichen. Qichen slowly turned around, a little confused. "Didn't you say I should go?"

"Come with us. If we encounter any trouble, you'll be the cannon fodder," the young man said with a wicked smile.
