He needed to calm down. What were the chances that they saw through his lie and decided to throw him in a dungeon or something?
Well, he didn't think out his lie very well, and he wasn't 100% sure if he slipped up and said something that didn't add up.
Shit, it was definitely possible that they saw through his lie.
"Are you alright?"
The sudden voice snapped Frisk out of his stupor, only to find two concerned faces looking at him.
"Y-yeah, sorry. It's been a long day."
Miss "Yukong" stared at him for a second too long.
"Well, let's get going then?" He asked nervously.
"Very well."
He made sure to give Ms. Yu a wave before heading out the door. Making sure to keep a little distance between him and "Yukong."
They reached the Ministry's lobby soon enough. When he first got there, it was already quite empty. But now it was almost totally silent, apart from his and Yukong's footsteps.
Walking out the front door, he was surprised to see many lanterns lit up to illuminate Liyue's night. He was also surprised to see that a decent number of people were still walking about.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of music from above. Looking up, somewhere on the rooftops around him, someone was playing music.
He must have been staring for too long because he saw "Yukong" looking at him with an almost amused expression once he finished.
He did not like that.
"Amazing, isn't it?" she said, staring at the glowing lanterns above. "Even at night, Liyue never sleeps."
Frisk didn't even get a chance to respond before "Yukong" suddenly clapped her hands, making him flinch.
"Let's continue on, shall we? You must be exhausted after everything today~."
Dammit, lady, why do you sound so creepy?! Raka screamed internally but offered her an awkward nod.
So they continued their walk.
Passing a still-open jewelry store and a food cart selling some sort of soup. His body shivered at the thought of food, and his mind returned to Xiangling's excellent dish.
He needed to control his thoughts. If not, he might just starve to death just thinking about food.
Not long after, they passed the business of Feiyun Slope, and the surrounding atmosphere got quieter.
Night air pooled coolly at the foot of Feiyun Slope while "Yukong" guided Frisk along a quieter side street.
They stopped before a two-story townhouse between a herbal shop and a shuttered silk booth. Yukong unlocked the cedar door with a brass key and then stepped aside.
"This is a temporary witness lodging. It wasn't used for a while, but we fixed it quickly." Stopping in the middle of the room, "So, not bad, isn't it?"
The door opened to a warm sitting room: a woven reed mat, a polished pine floor, and a low desk beneath a bookshelf crowded with travelogues.
A single lotus‑shaped lamp glowed on the desk. Beyond a folding screen, a surprisingly pretty bed—clean linen, thick quilt, and even a cushion embroidered with cloud patterns.
"Woah,"
This was definitely an upgrade from the images he had in his mind. He expected a bland room, or worse, a jail cell.
But this was something that looked very aesthetically pleasing.
Yukong cleared her throat and clasped her hands behind her back. "Someone will collect you in the morning."
"?"
"Just for another medical checkup, follow‑up statements. After that, you'll be free to explore. Unless there is any new information on your case."
"Explore Liyue huh." He muttered.
Seeing his confusion, "Yukong" quickly came up with an idea. "How about giving Xiangling's restaurant a visit? She and Chef Mao would be glad to have you."
Oh yeah, he completely forgot about their restaurant. Maybe giving them a visit wouldn't be a bad idea.
But before that, there was one thing that he needed to make sure.
"You're… not the one picking me up?" He asked. Not because he wanted to see her again, heavens no.
It's more like he would like to know if he has to mentally prepare himself if she suddenly shows up.
She tilted her head, a teasing lilt in her voice. "Why? Going to miss me?" The lamp caught her eyes—merry on the surface, but an unreadable flicker lay beneath.
Frisk forced an awkward laugh.
Yukong's smile widened; then she walked past him and rapped knuckles lightly on the doorframe.
"Sleep well, and don't get lost. We'll sort the rest tomorrow." She stepped back across the threshold.
"Good night, Frisk."
"Night," he answered, then she finally closed the door with a click.
He waited for a few minutes before letting out a huge sigh of relief. That woman was finally gone, he could finally lower his guard.
Slowly, he wobbled to his bed and jumped into its warm embrace, The soft material touching his skin in just the right way.
"Haahh~"
He didn't move a muscle for a while, just letting his body decompress from all the shit its been through in just the last 24 hours.
Flipping over, he stared at the ceiling.
There was a lot that he still didn't know about this world, specifically about Liyue, but that was a problem for another day.
Now, he needed to rest. Slowly, letting his eyelids droop down before everything went dark.

DING!

RESTING IN A WARM BED FILLS YOUR HEART WITH DETERMINATION
[SAVE POINT SET!]

"Haahh~"
Frisk yawned as his eyes fluttered open. Slowly, he sat upwards, his mind taking a moment before he actually woke up.
He blinked once. Then twice. Before covering his face with his hands and exhaling a loud sigh.
"I actually got Isekai'd."
He had hoped that everything had been a dream, that he didn't actually get reincarnated with an Undertale system of all things.
"Oh well."
There was no use sulking about it now, he told himself. Getting out of bed, he realized an odd thing.
For some reason, his body felt good. That's probably not the way to describe it, it's more like his body felt perfect.
After the initial grogginess of waking up, he felt absolutely energized. Either that was the best sleep he had ever had, or there was another reason.
And only one thing came to mind.
Narrowing his eyes at the bed, he walked over to it and touched its wooden frame. But nothing happened.
Hmm, maybe… Select?
He flinched when a screen appeared in front of him.

FRISK LV1 DAY 1
LIYUE - WITNESS LODGING
SAVE RETURN
-/-
Yes. The text turned yellow before disappearing, and Frisk suddenly felt reenergized again. Not only that, but his mind felt like it was clearer than it was ever before.
This was absolutely amazing! He actually had a save point that he could use. This makes things a lot easier.
He was worried that he would go back to the Guili Plains every time he would die, which he really hoped wouldn't happen too often.
If he remembered correctly, a save point in Undertale would restore the player to full HP. He still didn't know how he remembered all this, but that was beside the point.
The possibility of having his HP restored on demand was insane. Does he even technically need to sleep? Couldn't he just make a save and get re-energized.
Does this also mean that he couldn't get mentally exhausted? Being able to rejuvenate his mental state on demand meant that he could do so many things so fast.
OK, calm down now.
While this was exciting, he wanted to focus on other things, such as figuring out how his system would work.
In Undertale, you leveled up by killing monsters. The more you killed, the more LOVE you gained.
If that was still the case with his system, then he was in trouble. Being a pacifist sounded nice in his head, like being nice to everyone.
But after nearly dying to a water slime and actually dying to a sentient flower, he realized that trying something like a pacifist route would not end well.
More specifically, it would result in him dying many, many times.
LOVE is an acronym for Level Of Violence. It shows someone's capacity to hurt others; the more LOVE you gain, the more detached your emotions become.
That was something he wanted to avoid.
But he still wanted to get stronger.
"Maybe I'm overlooking something…" He murmured.
If he worked out, he probably wouldn't level up since it had nothing to do with hurting others.
Thinking back to the original FRISK, he remembered that they somehow beat Asgore without gaining any LV and without the intent to kill him.
But they also only had 20 HP, and it only took a few attacks from monsters to kill them. But it also only took a couple attacks from them to finish off a monster.
Alright, so he made up his mind. His next goal is to find out how strong he is and how to get stronger without increasing his LV.
However, he heard multiple knocks on his door before he could continue his thoughts.
He froze for a split second, confused about who would be visiting him. Before he remembered "Yukong's" words.
"Coming!"
Tidying himself up a little, he turned the knob and swung the door open. Only to see a person with long green hair standing in front of him.
"Good morning, you must be Frisk, if I'm not mistaken?"
"Yes, you would be correct."
The man lets out a small smile. "I am Baizhu, and I was tasked with overseeing your medical checkup this morning."
/ - /
Frisk watched warily as Baizhu placed his medical kit gently onto the table.
He was about to say something to break the silence when a sudden movement caught his attention.
A slender white snake slithered out from beneath Baizhu's collar and draped itself lazily around his neck.
"Holy—!"
Frisk yelped, stumbling backward. "You… there's a snake on you!"
Baizhu's lips curled into an amused smile. "Ah, my apologies. Allow me to introduce Changsheng—my close companion.."
Changsheng tilted her head gracefully toward Frisk, golden eyes narrowing slightly. "I trust you're not frightened by little old me?" she said, her voice rich with amusement.
Frisk swallowed hard.
Of course, it can talk…
He took a second to gather his composure. "No, not frightened. Just… surprised."
"Understandable," Baizhu said soothingly. "Now, please sit. This won't take too long."
Frisk hesitantly sat down, eyes fixed warily on Changsheng. "She… doesn't bite, right?"
"Only when provoked," Changsheng murmured casually, flicking her tongue out briefly.
Frisk paled.
Baizhu chuckled softly, shaking his head. "She's merely teasing. You're perfectly safe. Changsheng enjoys having her fun, but she wouldn't harm anyone."
Frisk released a shaky breath, trying to calm himself. "Good to know," he mumbled, casting another wary glance at the snake.
Baizhu moved closer, carefully checking Frisk's pulse with his fingers. "So, Frisk, how are you finding Liyue Harbor so far?"
Frisk shrugged awkwardly, overseeing Baizhu write his pulse onto a scroll.
"It's… different. Beautiful, definitely. But I feel a little out of place, I guess."
Baizhu nodded thoughtfully, eyes gently assessing Frisk's condition. "That's natural, given your situation. A sudden change can be jarring. Have you been sleeping well? Any strange dreams or discomfort?"
Frisk hesitated briefly. Strange dreams, huh? Nothing stranger than reality, that's for sure. "Not really," he answered carefully. "Actually, last night was probably the best sleep I've had since coming here."
Baizhu gave a slight nod, adjusting his glasses. "That's excellent news." He paused, narrowing his eyes slightly as he observed Frisk more closely.
"Physically, you're in surprisingly amazing shape considering your recent ordeal. I expected some residual strain or fatigue, but your vital signs are quite robust."
He knew the reason why, but he wasn't about to tell him that. Better to pretend he's surprised. "Is that… bad?"
Changsheng huffed, her voice tinged with curiosity. "On the contrary, it is very intriguing."
Baizhu's smile returned, "Nothing to worry about, truly. It's merely uncommon after experiencing significant stress."
"That's Good…"
After a few more minutes of Baizhu's checkup, him using some tools that Frisk had definitely never seen before. He was finally done.
Baizhu carefully placed the medical tools back into the kit, clearly satisfied. "That concludes our examination. You're recovering remarkably well."
"Thanks, doctor."
"Please, call me Baizhu," he said kindly, securing the clasp on his kit. "I'll inform the Ministry of your excellent health. You're free to explore the city at your leisure today."
Frisk nodded, "Got any recommendations on where to go? I was considering heading over to Wanmin Restaurant. But I have no idea where that is."
Baizhu perked at the mention of the restaurant. "Ah, Wanmin! An excellent choice. I highly recommend the Crystal Shrimp—it's extraordinary."
"I'll definitely try that then."
Baizhu laughed softly, "I'll gladly guide you to Wanmin Restaurant, and get myself something too."
"That sounds good, lead the way then Mister Baizhu!"
