Chapter 7 - - Learning a little more -

We walked for a while until we reached the store where I bought my clothes, so she could buy something since her clothes were very torn and dirty.

Koukova

"B-Ban, there's no need for any of that. You've done enough by getting me out of that cage and being so kind," she said, embarrassed, although it was clear she was uncomfortable having her dirty clothes revealing part of her body.

Ban

"I don't want any buts. Let's find you something you'll like, and we won't leave here until you have something new covering your skin." Without waiting for her answer, I led her inside, where there were clothes for both men and women. There wasn't much variety.

Koukova analyzed each piece as if she were looking for something that wasn't worth a fortune. My eyes instinctively went to some dresses. There were several, and they came in a variety of colors. They were expensive, but nothing special.

Ban

"These would look great on you. How about you try them on?" I pointed at the dresses, and when she saw them, she shook her head.

Koukova

"No, it's too high a price. I don't want to owe you more than I already do for your gratitude." I snorted and took several of the dresses, placing them in her hands.

Ban

"Go try them on. If you feel so much gratitude, then just listen and try them on." She couldn't complain. Instead, she became embarrassed and walked to a secluded space to put on some of the dresses. I waited for a few minutes until I saw her come out with the blue dress covering her slim, fitted body. The fabric looked soft and of good quality.

Koukova

"Oh, this is expensive... I don't know if I can afford something like that." I clapped and took the other dresses with a smile.

Ban

"They look great on you. Let's pay for them." I approached the seller and paid 3,000 for each dress, a total of 5. Koukova was embarrassed but just followed me, walking beside me. Now she looks better wearing something that covers her.

Koukova

"Thank you... you're really very kind." I smiled and looked around once outside the small shop.

Ban

"Since you've been in this kingdom longer than I have, do you know where we can pay to stay? We have to have somewhere to sleep." She made a thoughtful gesture and then pointed to the right.

Koukova

"Around the hills, if I'm not mistaken, there are houses and possible inns. It's the highest area here." I nodded and followed her as I tried to get there.

Ban

"And what are the jobs we can do to earn money, Koukova? We have to do something to earn money, what I have won't last forever." She looks at me and looks up at the sky as she walks.

Koukova

"If I'm not mistaken, you can work as a hunter, tracker, doctor, scientist, adventurer, blacksmith, and there are other branches. But those are the ones I remember. I specialize in healing. I spent my scroll learning a healing skill. I wanted to heal in the kingdoms. But when I realized we weren't in a game, I was afraid to go out and help." As we climbed the stairs, we spotted several inns, each with different prices from 1,000 gold tokens to 4,000, and also houses. But these were much more expensive.

Ban

"We have many options available." I confess, looking at each place, analyzing only the exterior with my eyes.

Koukova

"Yeah, what do you think of that inn? It's 1,000 gold tokens a week." She didn't receive a response and turned to look at me. But I was no longer by her side and was surprised to see me analyzing a house.

Ban

"I like this one. It looks nice and well-kept from the outside, so it must be very nice and spacious inside." Koukova runs up to me and complains as I leave her talking to herself.

Koukova

"What? But I thought it was going to be an inn. This is much more expensive than buying a house."

Ban

"Don't get me wrong, but I want to sleep comfortably, not in a bed where hundreds of people have already slept, but in one where only I sleep. Besides... I'd like to start buying properties. You never know what might happen in the future." She just smiled nervously, not knowing what to think.

I saw the house for sale sign. Its price was 4,380,000 gold chips. Even though it's a high price, something told me it was my best option. I clicked the buy button and a message appeared in front of me.

[ARE YOU ABOUT TO BUY A HOUSE? ARE YOU SURE?]

(Yes) (No)

I tapped "Yes" and another window appeared in front of me.

[FILL IN THE BOXES TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE]

Price to pay: 4,380,000 F.D [YES]

Payment: [ ] (immediate or in installments)

Owner's name: [ ]

I selected "pay immediately" and put my name in the last box. The golden tokens were subtracted from my inventory, and a piece of paper materialized in front of me. I took it, and it was the property papers.

Ban

"Well, that's a good start. We already have a property, now let's go inside and see it." Koukova smiles broadly and follows me inside. It's a fairly comfortable place with furniture of not-so-great quality. But that wasn't the least of it, as long as we have a place to live. It had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a single kitchen, and a small patio, so it was worth it.

Koukova

"So what will you do from now on, Ban? Are you going to live an ordinary life, getting used to this new world like everyone else?"

Ban

"Well, first I'll look for my little sister. I don't know where she is, and that worries me. The worst thing is not having a single clue. Then I'll find a way to get out of here... This isn't our world. You said there's work as a hunter or adventurer, right?" She nods as she checks the fridge. But it's empty.

Koukova

"If the job as a hunter is killing the animals of this world and selling them to create items, and adventurer is for those who like adrenaline, groups that go together to kill monsters and things like that for treasure."

Ban

"Bingo! Then my sister must be in some adventurer group. I know she's very stubborn and loves danger, so she must be part of one of those things... How can I get into that?" She just looked at me with some nervousness.

Koukova

"You want to join as an adventurer!? But if it's too dangerous, you could lose your life." She said, covering her mouth when she realized she was screaming. I quickly noticed her nervousness and tried to calm her down.

Ban

"Calm down, Koukova, nothing will happen to me... Besides, I have to. We're talking about my little sister. I can't leave her alone in this dangerous world." Her silence lasted for a few moments. She seemed anxious about something. But she quickly sighed and looked at me.

Koukova

"Then I'll join you. I'm not leaving you alone. You've helped me a lot. I'll be your healer in case you get hurt." She took me by surprise, but I smiled, grateful that she wanted to join me.

Ban

"You know it's not mandatory, right? You can stay here at home if you want." She shook her head firmly.

Koukova

"No, I want to go with you and help you find your sister, but... For now, how about we rest and eat something? Both you and I are exhausted." I understood, knowing that she's very tired after days in a cage without eating well. I'm also very exhausted after surviving in the forest for 3 days.

Ban

"Okay, let's go buy supplies and then rest. Tomorrow will be a long day."

We both left our new home, stopped by some local stalls where we bought strange fruits and items I know are suitable for cooking, although I don't know how to cook something like that. We spent 320 tokens on grade E ingredients. I began to understand what these grades are like thanks to Koukova. Although I've spent a lot, I still have 20,599,230 F.D. left. I suppose selling the scroll helped me a lot, although now I'm probably the only one in this world without a power or something other than money.
