Draven sat in a small ship with Ozpin. Even though he wanted to fly himself, Ozpin insisted he ride in the Bullhead as he called it. He simply can't believe he's sitting in a ship instead of flying. He'd reach this Union Academy place much faster than this ship. It was annoyingly slow compared to him. But he kept himself under control and went with it. Along the way, Draven had asked some questions about Earth and Ozpin answered. Earth is run by the United Earth Government, the first true global government that united all the countries under one banner. Though it wasn't an easy endeavor, the world had gone through the Great War and a period of unrest before the UEG was formed. The Great War lasted from 1914 to 1940 due to the Grimm and other factors. At first the Great War was fought between the nations before the Grimm became a serious problem then the War switched to fighting the Grimm. But there were still Nations fighting each other.
During the War, something called Quirks began appearing and it caused even more chaos. The War finally ended when all Nations stopped fighting each other and focused on the Grimm. This allowed the World to heal from the War, but lasting scars remained. Following the war and the time of unrest in which Huntsmen and the newly created Pro Heroes fought hard to end, the nations of the world sought to prevent another catastrophe from happening again so after a long time of peace talks, the United Earth Government was formed by 1953. But That was 200 Years ago. Since then, Earth has experienced peace. Though it isn't a perfect peace. Villains, Grimm, Rogue Huntsmen and Supernatural threats lurk in the shadows. While he heard about all of this, he couldn't believe Humanity was still around. Must be a resilient species. Something he can respect.
He then learned about this Union Academy place. Apparently, it's the number one Academy that trains both Huntsmen AND Pro Heroes. It's an international Academy based in Europe that was created shortly after the creation of the UEG. There are other Academies out there in the world, but Union is the most popular and prestigious. But Draven didn't understand why Ozpin was sharing this much information to him before he got a good idea why. Ozpin is trying to make a trade of information. Make Draven comfortable with knowledge so he could talk more openly about his people. Something he won't do unless he's certain that he can trust Ozpin and Humanity.
While he was deep in thought, he failed to realize that they had arrived. Ozpin stands up and this act gets the Viltrumite out of his thoughts and he stands up too.
"I take it we're here?" Draven asked.
"Correct." Ozpin confirms.
The side door opens up as the ship lands and once it does, Draven and Ozpin step off the ship. Draven takes in the sight of Union Academy and there was much to see. Beautifully crafted buildings, stone carvings, some statutes of what Draven guesses are ancient heroes and other additions to make Union look pleasing to the eyes. There was a large courtyard with a straight path going through the center of it all. A large tower in the middle of the Academy stood tall and along the pathway in the courtyard were trees obviously for an aesthetic. As the two walked down the main path, Draven could see what he guessed were students of this Academy. The students all gazed upon Ozpin and Draven as they walked further into The Academy. Draven cared little for their gazes, so he paid them no mind. They eventually reach that large tower and enter an elevator that takes them both to the top of the tower. Once they arrived, Draven saw an Animal person sitting at a large desk with two seats.
"Ah, Ozpin. I was beginning to think you'd be late." The Animal Person said.
"I apologize, but I came as fast as I could Nezu." Ozpin said.
The Animal Person, now named Nezu, then turns his attention to Draven who had walked into the room with Ozpin. Draven was standing in front of the large desk while Ozpin walked around it and sat down.
"So, this is that Alien you mentioned?" Nezu asked.
"That it is." Ozpin said.
"I have a name." Draven said.
"Then would you introduce yourself to us?" Ozpin asked.
Draven hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"My name is Draven; I'm a former member of the Viltrum Empire." Draven introduced.
"Former member?" Nezu asked. "Not that I support Empires, but how are you a former member?"
Crap, he let that slip. He Initially wanted no connection to the Empire by not mentioning it to the people of this planet.
"I rebelled against the Empire and paid the price for it." Draven revealed.
"Is that why you were critically wounded?" Ozpin asked.
"Yes." Draven answered. "But I wasn't fighting on this planet or anywhere near it. Somehow, I was transported here despite my injuries."
Ozpin and Nezu found this interesting. They could tell he wasn't lying as they've grown accustomed to people trying to lie. So, they developed a skill for detecting liars. But Draven isn't lying at all. Sure, it was clear he was withholding information from them but considering that he doesn't trust them justifies his actions. They're not sure if they should trust him either. An Alien from another world who worked for an Empire doesn't spell good things. It means that Draven could've been a conqueror of planets and has killed people. Whether innocent or not is up for debate as they don't know.
"Look, I don't plan on harming this planet. All I need are resources for survival. That's all." Draven said.
"That's all you want?" Nezu asks.
"Correct." Draven said.
Draven planned to have a set start of resources before building up more on his own so he could restart his assault on the Viltrum Empire. It'll take a while as he is nowhere close to being ready to face the Empire, so he needs to be patient, gain allies and more resources. Ozpin and Nezu turn to each other and seem to be debating whether or not they should help Draven. They then turn to Draven.
"If we do this, we'll need something in return." Ozpin said. "Don't expect us to do this for free."
"What will it be?" Draven asks.
"An evaluation of your abilities is all." Ozpin said. "We'd like to know just who exactly we're letting roam freely on Earth."
An Evaluation? That's it? Draven thinks it'll be easy, but he doesn't know what kind of evaluation. He hopes its a combat one, because he'll pass it no problem. However, if it isn't. He isn't too sure how he'll do.
"What kind of evaluation?" Draven asked.
"One where you'll be able to show off your combat skills." Nezu said.
Perfect. This'll be easy. At least that's what Draven believes.
"When does it start?" Draven asked.
"First, we'll need to prepare one of the mock cities for the evaluation and the robots." Ozpin explained.
"Mock cities?" Draven asked.
"It's a battle ground where our students of the Hero Division can truly unleash their Quirks to the fullest in simulated combat scenarios." Nezu explained. "Here you could be tested for combat. Of course we may need to supply you with weapons."
"Not necessary." Draven said, waving off the offer for weapons.
"Oh?"
"Won't need them." Draven stated. "My powers are more than enough."
Nezu and Ozpin spare a quick glance at one another before going along with it.
"Very well, we will inform you once Ground Beta is ready for your evaluation." Ozpin informed.
Draven just nods, though he begins to mentally prepare himself for combat.
