Eva and Elise head to the Deathbed, the only bar still operating in block 15 that hasn't been destroyed or closed due to the rampant violence. They find a spot towards the back of the bar. "There it is," Elise remarks, "that Deathbed smell. It's so awful it might make you want to end it all. Speaking of..." She points towards a man hanging from a noose in the corner by the stairs, looking no older than 22. "Another one bites the dust," she says flatly. Meanwhile, Eva approaches the lifeless body and offers a brief prayer—a moment of silence for the man who left this world too soon. Afterward, she returns to join Elise at the table. For the first time, Elise looks closely at Eva and notices her striking appearance: blonde hair with red highlights, bold red eyeliner, lipstick, and nails, paired with a black leather jacket and pants. "What was that all about, Eva? How does praying for him help now?" Elise questions, her tone lacking sympathy for the deceased. "Because," Eva replies, "the body may be gone, but the soul remains. He might still have things to resolve here before moving on."
Both women settled at the bar and chose the only decent drink available at the Deathbed—straight whiskey. As Eva glanced at Elise, she took a moment to truly appreciate her friend's outfit: black hair with violet streaks, a black crop top, black leather pants featuring rips on both sides, and a violet jacket. "Nice style," Eva remarked to Elise while sipping her drink. "It's unconventional but not bad. It really suits you." Elise took a deep gulp of her beverage and replied, "Same goes for you. We don't see many people wearing bright colors around here anymore. It's refreshing to find someone who still has a hint of optimism in this rundown place." Just as Eva was about to respond, three armed men burst into the bar, wielding M1 Garands and adorned with the insignia of the Backalley Boys—a trio of skulls pierced by a single spike. "I'm Josh Hart, the leader of the Backstreet Boys gang," one of them announced. "One of our members is incapacitated, and we want to know who's responsible." Without hesitation, Eva stood up and confronted Mr. Hart, locking eyes with him. "Guilty as charged, Mr. Hart. What are you going to do about it? They tried to search me, but I defended myself after repeatedly asking them to stop. They faced the consequences of their actions, and you might as well if you don't back off."
Josh, visibly enraged, raises his gun and aims it at Eva's head, shouting, "Do you really think you can come into MY city and speak to me that way? Absolutely not. I'll take you out right here. Give me a good reason not to, and I might let you leave." To Josh's surprise, Eva stays calm and responds, "I'm not the one in danger here; you are." Before Josh can react, Elise appears behind him, pressing her Magnum against the back of his head. "I've already taken down one person tonight for interrupting me. Do you really believe I won't take you out for threatening my guest?" Elise says firmly. "Here's what we're going to do: there are three of you and two of us, so one of you will have to sit this one out. The two who participate will face off in two one-on-one matches. Whoever survives wins. You can knock the other out, kill them, or make them surrender—I don't care how it ends, but it will end tonight. Eva, are you in?" Eva simply nods in response. "And what about you, big man?" Josh puffs out his chest and replies, "Of course. I'd love nothing more than to take you down, but only on one condition: I want you specifically, whoever you are." Elise chuckles and responds, "The name's Elise. I'll make sure that's on your tombstone."
