Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Madness Awakens

As the clock ticks from 30:00 to 45:00, I stare forward, eyes narrowing with purpose. The air buzzes with tension, like static waiting to ignite. Then, with no warning, I surge forward—every muscle taut, heart thundering with adrenaline—as I push the ball ahead, weaving toward the towering figure of Turan, the prodigy everyone praises.

He's already moving. Gliding. No—dancing. His movements are too smooth, too fluid, like he was born for this, flickering between dimensions as he twists and turns with lethal grace. He weaves in and out like wind slipping through fingers, and just as I close in—SWISH. SWISH.

A single right-footed trivela. A flick. A sudden leftward twist. He vanishes.

Both Turan and the ball bend through space like they're folding reality itself. I feel the displacement in the air behind me, the vacuum left in his wake. I whip my head around and see him already meters past me. Too late.

My stomach sinks.

"No. No, I can't let this happen. I just got here. I haven't even made my mark yet. I won't be overshadowed—not now. Not when the rankings for the New Gen 11 are just beginning. Not before I show them what I'm capable of. Not before I reach my peak. I've bled, I've suffered... I've endured too much to be made into a footnote in Turan's highlight reel. I won't let some prodigy erase everything I've built."

[WARNING: SYSTEM ALERT]

"Destroyer Madness Flow Triggered."

"Mental state unstable. Ego override initiated."

"Mind rest protocol... FAILED."

"Skill level insufficient to maintain full control."

"Emergency override active. Ego and instinct now merged."

My consciousness flickers like a lightbulb in a storm. Then—snap—I black out.

But my body?

It moves.

Less than five seconds after Turan passes me, my body enters a trance-like state, absorbed by instinct and the raw fury of the Destroyer Madness Flow. A rush of power shudders through me—fierce, unfiltered, untamed.

[Skill Activated: Top Performance Flow]

[Skill Activated: Falcon Impact Flow]

[NEW SKILL UNLOCKED: Inner Shockwave]

[NEW SKILL UNLOCKED: Iron Legs]

[FUSION SKILL FORMED: Gravity Shift]

My irises dissolve, replaced by pools of blood-crimson fire. My pupils narrow, bestial. My skin radiates a primal, seething aura, barely holding together the roaring chaos inside.

The air thickens. Time stretches. Then—

BOOM.

My legs ignite with kinetic pressure. Muscles coil. Speed-related stats x3.

Every physical parameter of my body? Doubled.

From absolute stillness—

20 km/h... 50 km/h... 80... 120... 170... 180 km/h—

BOOM!

I reappear beside Turan.

Before he even registers the danger—

I've stolen the ball.

His eyes widen, confusion written across his face, and in the milliseconds before he can turn, I halt my momentum with a Gravity Shift. My legs lock, and the spiraling energy within me reverses in a circuit of kinetic collapse, allowing me to stop instantly, body unharmed—just trembling from the sheer pressure.

I pivot—madness in my eyes.

I charge again. Straight at Turan. My mind screams, "Don't stop. Break him. Overwhelm him. Show them who you are."

Left step-over.

Right step-over.

50 km/h.

Left reverse step-over.

Another left step-over—now 80 km/h.

A ball flick.

Then, with my right heel, a scorpion kick—FLICK.

The ball arcs over him.

In the same instant, I push off with my left foot and spiral into the air—a full-body corkscrew flip. Time slows.

0.3 seconds before I hit the ground, my left knee taps the ball mid-air, and I land softly, the ball bouncing ahead.

I hit the turf again—

BOOM.

Gravity Shift:

20 km/h...

50...

80...

130 km/h.

Left step-over. Right. Right-foot lift—over the shoulder. Left foot scorpion flick.

The ball flies.

170 km/h, over the midfielder.

Defenders charge in.

I leap—double rainbow flick, twisting mid-air.

0.5 seconds before I touch down—KAISER IMPACT.

BOOM.

I land.

Toes graze the earth.

I trigger Inner Shockwave and Falcon Burst—

The energy, compacted like a one-inch punch, rockets me forward with just the lightest touch.

The earth cracks beneath my step.

BOOM.

200 km/h.

I reach the ball again—feet barely skimming the turf.

Speed climbing.

197 km/h… and rising.

My left leg swings forward—

DOUBLE KAISER IMPACT.

BOOOOM.

From 40 yards, the ball becomes a blur, cutting through the air at 300 km/h.

35 yards: 350 km/h.

20 yards: 400 km/h.

CRACK.

It hits the net.

Silence.

Then—flop.

A figure collapses face-first, lifeless on the pitch.

Number 11.

Me.

Commentator (breathless):

"Turan's on fire—he's breezing past! But wait—what's this? Kaiser's closing in... no way—he's passed! Turan finesses past him without even blinking! Is Kaiser done for today? Looks like that promotion wasn't worth it... Wait, something's changed—look at his face! That's not fear... that's rage. Where's that speed coming from?!"

"He's taken the ball back from Turan—at full sprint?! But how is he going to stop—OH MY GOD, he did. He just stopped, mid-motion, like his body isn't even real! He's running again—straight at Turan—no, he's not going to—HE FLIPPED OVER HIM??!! What in the freestyle hell is this?!"

"He's past midfield—Kaiser Impact—WAIT, ANOTHER BLUR? That ball has a second sonic boom?! It's... accelerating! My God—this 14-year-old just kicked the ball at 400km/h! The goalkeeper didn't even flinch!"

"And—wait—he's down. Number 11. Kaiser. Face-first on the grass. Medical team is rushing in! Rewind the footage—how can this even be possible? A double Kaiser Impact?! His body must've shut down—no wonder he collapsed! Let's hope this isn't serious..."

Scene Shift — Medical Room

My eyes open.

All I see is darkness. Then—blinding white.

Pain floods my nerves like liquid fire, especially in my legs. My vision swims. My head feels too heavy to lift.

What… happened?

The last thing I remember… I was chasing Turan. Then—nothing.

I bolt upright. Pain explodes in my chest, arms, and thighs.

"W-Wait… the match... what happened?!"

Ness, Coach, and a nurse all rush in, gently pushing me back onto the bed.

"You collapsed," Ness says quietly, her hand trembling. "But we got a draw. Somehow."

The doctor steps in. Calm, but firm.

"You overloaded your body with neuro signals, pushing your system past its operational threshold. Physically, you're fine—but your brain needs time. Two months without sports. After two weeks, you can stretch. One week after that, light jogging. Then slow reconnection training. Checkups every two weeks."

I nod, barely listening, eyes on the translucent system window now hovering in front of me.

I dismiss everyone.

"Thanks," I say. "I'll rest. You can come back tomorrow."

Alone, I open the system logs.

There it is.

Destroyer Madness Flow — Triggered.

Mind override. Ego blackout. Instinctual takeover.

"That's why I couldn't remember anything..."

I watch the playback.

"I... did all that? At that speed? Wait—double Kaiser Impact?! I didn't even know that was possible…"

[NEW SKILL UNLOCKED: Double Impact (Rank XXX+)]

"Used when Kaiser Impact is executed twice in succession, doubling the velocity of the shot."

"WARNING: Causes severe backlash to neuro-signal stability. Can only be activated during state of extreme ego dominance. Not recommended for regular use."

I stare blankly at the floating text.

"Great. I unlock a god-tier move I can't even use unless I want to fry my brain."

I exhale, bitter but hopeful.

"Still... if I pushed my base speed to 50 km/h by 17, and I stack these multipliers, I could kick the ball at 500 km/h… and that's before I'm even 20. What level will I be then?"

I clench my fists, the pain still fresh in every nerve. But so is the fire in my chest.

"With my adaptive body trait, I'll survive it. I'll master it. My body will adapt. And when it does..."

I look at my trembling hands, still wired from the madness.

"Let's see how far this body can go."
