Chapter 9 - Chapter 7: Tragic Day

The masked men escorted the two remaining players back to the dormitory. Only two beds remained.

As they entered, Ki-hyun turned to Jeong-hyuk and said,

"Hey, look over there."

He pointed at the piggy bank.

"I'm going to walk out of here with that money. You? You'll die in this f***ing dump."

With that, he headed to his bed.

Jeong-hyuk stood still and muttered,

"Son of a b***h."

At that moment, the door opened, and a masked man stepped out.

"To those who have successfully completed the first five games, we offer our sincerest congratulations and respect. A special gift has been prepared for you, our final participants. Before the gift is revealed, please change into the clothing we've provided."

Jeong-hyuk changed into the new outfit and stepped out of the stall.

Ki-hyun sneered at him,

"You should thank me. If it weren't for me, you'd probably be in heaven by now. Hahaha."

Jeong-hyuk ignored him and left the restroom.

Back in the dorm, the masked men had arranged a round table. Jeong-hyuk and Ki-hyun sat at opposite ends.

The masked men set the table with silverware and brought out the food.

The meal consisted of vegetables, fruits, bread, and a luxurious seared steak. They poured them red wine.

Then one of the masked men spoke:

"Tonight's dinner is a gift to thank our final participants for the sacrifices and effort you've made throughout this journey. We also hope you will give us an even more exciting performance in the final game. Please, enjoy the meal without hesitation."

With that, Jeong-hyuk and Ki-hyun, starving, devoured the rare feast before them.

After the meal, the masked men cleared the dishes—leaving behind a small knife.

Each of them knowingly slipped the knife into their pockets.

That night, neither dared to let their guard down. But in the end, both succumbed to exhaustion and dozed off in their seats.

Meanwhile, outside the game, Il-hoon's father found his wife hanging at home.

Devastated, he pulled her down and held her in his arms.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry…" he cried, breaking down into sobs.

Elsewhere, the VIPs were laughing and chatting as they played cards together.

One of them said,

"Looking forward to tomorrow's game."

And in the room of the Host, the music "Fly Me to the Moon" began to play.
