After saying goodbye to the captain, Leyton walked out of the building disguised as a newspaper office and Writers' Association, only to realize that it was already dark outside, so he went straight home. When Leyton returned, the housekeeper and two servants had already returned with the purchased supplies.

The housekeeper was in the hall directing the two servants to classify the various items and then take them away for storage. The housekeeper was an old man in his fifties with a thin build, his hair already gray, and his face already showing many wrinkles.

In Leyton's memory, the housekeeper was a local of Madan, named Sean Porter, but his family had passed away, leaving only one son, but his relationship with the housekeeper was not good.

Although he was old, the housekeeper's spirit had always been good. It was said that the housekeeper was an adventurer when he was young, but the adventure suffered a disastrous defeat at the very beginning, and his leg was injured. Because he missed the best time for treatment, he could only limp after the injury healed, and the housekeeper's adventure dream was interrupted.

After that, because of his physical defects, the housekeeper's life was not good. In this city, it was difficult for a person with disabilities to find a good job.

Until later, Leyton's father needed someone to take care of the young Leyton because he and his wife were often away from home for many years, and the housekeeper, who knew his father and had a good reputation before the injury, became the first choice.

So Leyton's father hired Mr. Sean as the housekeeper, mainly to take care of Leyton.

The other two servants were found by the housekeeper. They had been replaced over the years. The current two servants are one male and one female. The male is named Robert, thirty years old, with thick eyebrows and big eyes, ordinary features, a thin build, bronze skin, hands full of thick calluses, and simple clothes, which shows that he used to do hard labor outdoors.

The female is named Sally, thirty-five years old, with a slightly plump figure, and a smile always on her lips. Perhaps due to maternal influence, Sally always took good care of Leyton, who was alone at home. She liked to listen to Leyton talk about some of his experiences at school, and she was always the first to notice and comfort Leyton when he was sad.

Although she also wears simple clothes, she is obviously much better than Robert, and the clothes on her body are also very clean. She has her own family and children, and is mainly responsible for washing and cooking at Leyton's house on time every day to earn some money to subsidize the family. Sally and Robert are both locals of Madan, and they have been working at Leyton's house for two or three years.

Seeing Leyton enter the house, the housekeeper walked straight over: "Young master, during the time you were away, the newspaper office sent a telegram from the master, which has been placed on the desk in your room."

"Well, is he delayed again and won't be able to come back this month?" Leyton asked casually.

In Leyton's memory, this kind of thing had happened more than once or twice, and Leyton was used to it.

"Yes, it seems that they encountered pirates in Desi Bay, but fortunately, the master and the others were not injured as a result," the housekeeper explained for Leyton's father.

Leyton frowned slightly: "With the strong naval power in Desi Bay, how could pirates run there to die? My father encountered pirates on the way to the Rorsted Archipelago, right?"

"The master's telegram did not say these things. I think it should be like this. The master's last telegram said that he planned to go to the Rorsted Archipelago to expand the trading market," the housekeeper thought for a while and felt that what Leyton said made sense, and combined it with the telegram sent by Leyton's father last time to answer.

"Well, let's talk about it when father comes back. There's no use in us worrying here. By the way, Uncle Sean, I have joined the Church of Knowledge. I will go to the church to study during the day. You tell Aunt Sally that she doesn't need to prepare my lunch after that," Leyton replied according to his previous habits.

Finally, he added that he had joined the Church of Knowledge, and he would need to go to the church to study for a long time after that. After all, there was no need to hide this matter, and he could not hide the fact that he would go to the church every day.

"Church of Knowledge? Good, young master, is it as a scholar? I think your mother will be very happy about this. Although the madam didn't say it clearly, it can be seen that she still hopes that you can become a scholar like her. Do we need to send a telegram to tell the master and madam about this?" The housekeeper seemed happier about Leyton joining the Church of Knowledge than Leyton himself.

"No need for now, let's talk about it when they come back, so that they will realize how long they have been away," Leyton thought for a while and replied.

"Okay, the master and madam may think that a stable life is more beneficial to the young you!" After the housekeeper replied, he defended Leyton's parents.

"Yeah." Leyton nodded, without denying the housekeeper's words.

"Young master, today I took Sally and Robert to purchase some supplies needed for this winter. Looking at the weather now, it will be winter in another half a month." Seeing that Leyton was about to return to his room, the housekeeper told him all the things that needed to be reported today.

"I just looked in the study and saw the glasses you dropped on the ground. They have been broken." Then he took out a pair of broken glasses and handed them to Leyton.

"Yes, I understand. Take those glasses to the shop in the next few days and see if they can be repaired. I quite like those glasses. Don't rush, focus on preparing winter supplies first. I'll buy a new pair tomorrow to use in the meantime." Leyton recalled the glasses that the butler had mentioned.

They were a gift from his father on Leyton's eighteenth birthday, a delicate work of art with a brass hue and gold inlay. Leyton was very fond of those glasses. Recalling the appearance of the glasses in his memory, Leyton also thought they were very nice. They must have been dropped and broken when the previous owner was on the verge of losing control.

"Very well, young master. Please rest for now. Sally has already gone to prepare dinner. I will inform you when dinner is ready." The butler bowed and hobbled away, leaning on his cane.

Returning to his room, Leyton turned on the gas wall lamp, closed the door, and lay down on the bed. He took out the strange ornament he had obtained from the Knowledge Church from his shirt pocket.

Leyton held the ornament in his hand, lifting it to his eyes. It was just a silver chain that wasn't very long. It didn't look like a pendant, but there was no pin on the back, so it clearly wasn't a brooch either.

"A ring full of gears and an upright eye without eyelashes, it feels so steampunk and Cthulhu-esque. I feel like you and this world are quite a match." Leyton muttered to himself, looking at the strange ornament in his hand.

Leyton stared at the ornament in his hand for a long time without any clue, so he put it aside and began to try cogitating. The original Leyton's memories contained the method of Cogitation, but Leyton wanted to change the object of visualization. As an earthling, how could he not visualize something special?

After closing his eyes, Leyton pondered for a while before deciding what to contemplate. Following the method of cogitation in his memory, Leyton began to outline a pattern in his mind. One star after another lit up, connecting with each other. The picture gradually spread around. Leyton wanted to try to contemplate a giant star dragon, and he had already thought of the reference object.

Suddenly, his head throbbed with pain. The stars that Leyton had originally outlined dissipated, leaving only a few scattered spots of light. Although he didn't know what was going on, Leyton also understood that his attempt at cogitation had failed.

Leyton prepared to give up cogitation for now and think about whether he could contemplate other things, but he found that he couldn't withdraw from the meditation process. It seemed that suddenly his spirit and thoughts had their own ideas and will, leaving Leyton's consciousness to watch from the sidelines.

"What's going on? Is it the so-called extra information? Or have I unfortunately encountered some mysterious event again?" Leyton began to panic.

Leyton's consciousness began to reconstruct the object of visualization, a figure formed by countless golden sand grains constantly flowing and gathering.

A ring constructed from countless gears and pipes, with golden sparks and smoke rising from it. In the middle was a huge, pupil-less eye. The two were tightly integrated, and several tentacle-like chains were shaking. All of this was composed of golden sand grains. On the gears, on the huge, pupil-less eye, and in the rising smoke and sparks, golden sand grains were flowing.

"Is this the true appearance of that ornament?" Leyton's consciousness was uneasy on the sidelines.

As the new object of visualization took shape, Leyton found that his consciousness seemed to temporarily detach itself, becoming a relatively independent entity in the scene that appeared in this meditation.

Driven by inner curiosity and a sense of inexplicable attraction, Leyton controlled his consciousness and rushed towards the strange figure that appeared in the visualization.

Leyton felt his consciousness crash into the huge, pupil-less eye in the middle of the object of visualization. His consciousness was in a trance. In the trance, Leyton seemed to see a huge eye, without eyelashes or flesh, like a mass of flowing liquid emitting a purple halo.

The moment Leyton saw this scene, a piece of information appeared in his mind: Sequence 2: Sage. At the same time, countless pieces of information were about to rush into Leyton's mind. Leyton was instantly blasted out of the meditative state. In the last moment, Leyton seemed to see some light flakes falling from the huge eye, falling towards him.

"Huff! Huff! ~" Leyton sat on the bed, holding on to the edge of the bed to steady himself, and holding his head that was about to explode.

After maintaining this posture for a while, Leyton finally sorted out the knowledge that had been poured into his mind. Most of it was redundant knowledge that was not very useful.

For example, the steps to extract salt from seawater, when is the best time to add salt when stir-frying. Of course, there was also some useful knowledge, such as some relatively obscure history, a spell for weeding, and some Elvish.

"I was suddenly injected with so much knowledge, no wonder I felt like my head was about to explode. Fortunately, the time was very short. I was stimulated to withdraw from meditation almost the moment I saw that huge eye, otherwise my head would have exploded on the spot, in the physical sense." Leyton sighed with some relief.
