"Hah, oh fresh air, how I've missed you" Jacob takes in a deep breath; it was so suffocating being stuck in the forest for these past days. Then, he took in the sights of the daylight.
In front of him was a massive gate, hindering his sight ahead. There were two knights keeping guard with sharp swords. From the cracks of the gate, he could see a bustling community.
"Is this some sort of kingdom? Can I just walk in?" Jacob observed the knights for a bit, decked from head to toe with metal gear.
God of War sends a message
"Go for it."
"Yeah, fuck it. What's the worst that can happen?"
Goddess of Lust sends a message
"Persecution."
"It was a hypothetical question, but good point. I just need to walk in with confidence." Jacob focuses and trots ahead.
He then immediately gets stopped, a sword against his throat.
"Identification card." One of the guards speak up.
…ID CARD?! HE'S SCREWED. He was randomly spawned into this world; where in the world would he be able to get an ID card?!
Keep your calm. "Oh yeah, my ID card. So I'm from the countryside and while I was traveling here, I ended up getting robbed by bandits and they took my ID card." He made up a flimsy story on the spot hoping to garner sympathy or at the very least a clue on how to get an ID card.
"Ah damn, another one got robbed." Knight 1 turns to Knight 2.
"But we can't let him in, too many crimes nowadays," Knight 2 adds on.
"Ahem, excuse me, but what do you mean by another one?" Jacob questions.
"You really are a countryside bumpkin. Well, there's been a bunch of thievaries over these past months from an unknown crime organization. They steal ID cards and use them to sneak into different kingdoms to commit more crimes." Knight 1 explains
"Oh my god, how terrible. But please let me in. I've been traveling for weeks hoping that I could make it big in the capital. Pleaseeee" Jacob begs, practically on his knees.
"...He doesn't look like he'd harm a fly."
"And judging by his aura, he doesn't even seem strong enough to hurt one."
"He's also pretty cute. There hasn't been a fresh face in a while, especially not one so gorgeous…"
The knights continue murmuring to each other while Jacob awaits his trial.
After a few moments, his judgement was decided.
"Okay kid, we'll let you in. You can go to the community hall to get a new ID card, but I'm warning you that you'll have to wait a LONG while to get one." Knight 1 proclaims.
"Seriously?! Thank you so much. I promise I'll be nothing but good for the kingdom." Jacob bows deeply.
"Sigh, no problem. Get along with it already and I guess…welcome to the kingdom of Versaliter." Knight 2 adds on.
Jacob flashes a bright, genuine smile before scurrying away.
"That kid was sure pretty. But he was so weak, probably a wannabe merchant." Knight 1 mutters.
"It's going to be hard for him to make it in the capital alone." Knight 2 responds.
"Wait, wasn't he carrying some sort of weapon with him. It was a weird looking axe."
"...I was too stunned by his face to notice anything else."
"...We're getting fired."
…
"I can't believe I got in so easily. A-rank charm is the best!" Jacob gloats.
God of War sends a message
"HOW DID YOU GET IN SO EASILY?! I HAD TO GET IN THE HARD WAY BACK THEN!"
"...What do you mean you had to get in the hard way? Last time I checked, you're the otherworldly being here, not me."
God of War sends a message
"Ahem, ignore my momentary lapse of words."
"Suspicious, but I don't have time to worry. This place is wicked." Jacob is bewildered by the view he's seeing as he's walking.
The Kingdom of Versaliter was massive. Buildings stretched in every direction, each topped with curved, tiled rooftops that gave the place a polished, traditional look. The streets were clean, the homes well-kept, no cracks in the road and no signs of chaos
At the heart of it all stood a large plaza with a towering dragon statue spiraling upward, casting a long shadow across the square. People moved through the area with purpose, talking, browsing market stalls, going about their day.
Watchtowers rose in the distance, guards stationed at each one, keeping the peace. Canals ran between districts, with stone bridges arching gracefully across. Down by the docks, ships bobbed gently, sails already hoisted, ready to cross the wide, open sea.
"Gorgeous." Jacob mumbled.
