Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Assasination Plan

Two Weeks Before the Selvette Academy Entrance Exam, Dark Alleys of the Royal Capital, Arcana, Arkansas Empire

*******************

Two hooded people cautiously walked into the entrance of a infamous bar, in the dark alleys of the Arkansas Empire.

The hooded man solemnly said, "It seems that man, known as the Biggest Douchebag of the Empire suffered a beating to death, huh?"

His partner answered, "Well, according to the rumours, that attack was planned and orchestrated by some of the common noble families under the Duke of Stavros."

"Yes, those two have a Family War afterall, it's just a matter of time that one of the sons of Marquis will be attacked, especially that trash bastard of the Empire."

The man added, cautiously entering the establishment known for its notoriety, as the Bar of the Fallen Nobles, where nobles of those fallen families entered to waste their money and to drink to their death.

It also had a bad reputation for being a prostitute house, a place where slavery was coherent with its nature towards commoner girls.

A heaven for human trafficking where many girls are sold off to nobles for many purposes.

AHell on Human World, as said in one of its descriptions in the Underworld.

Hence, that's why it's basically a mandatory thing to enter this place cautiously, or you might get in some trouble with either its guards, or some fallen nobles with some power that are currently roaming inside and outside of the infrastructure.

"Now, let's enter the place... to get that."

They slowly entered the establishment— two guards immediately saw them. They locked their eyes towards the two hooded people, as if they were measuring something, fearlessly. And as if they were waiting for something that was about supposed to happen.

The hooded man said in a calm tone, "The Glamour Moon was especially beautiful tonight— thus, this light shall cut through the evilness of the Arkansas Empire."

The two guards, quietly listening to the words that he's saying, slowly gave him a nod, as if to approve something. They opened the door to the bar and the two hooded figures entered it in a slow but calculated motion.

As the figures disappeared in the darkness of the establishment. The two talked about those people.

"Those t-two are members of them, right?"

The guard on the right, nervously looking at the door that the two hooded figures entered, released a sigh of relief, as if he saw something extremely frightening.

"Yes, you're right... based on the two marks that they had in their left shoulders. It's a mark of the Azkratus, and it's one of the most dangerous assassin organizations in the Underworld."

His guard mate added, looking at the entrance of the bar where those two entered earlier.

The two frightened guards, still reminiscing at the slash marks that the two figures know that they managed to evade death for this day.

Though they faced them fearlessly, but it's only outside appearance.

If a fight really happens between them, they will surely be dead in that battle in less than a minute— it's that fast to be honest.

"Well, let's just guard this horrible place for now." The man said to his scared guard mate to calm him down for the time being.

"Okay, I u-understand."

And the two silently watched the upcoming visitors of the Bar of the Fallen Nobles.

On the other side, the two hooded assassins walking down the main room of the bar— heard the seductive jazz of the disco, coupled with different dazzling lights encapsulating the room, the laughing sounds of the people, and the clinking of the glass bottles.

They noticed the people dancing in the front stage, with their bodies touching with each other, people who were drunk and making a scene, and some people just having fun in the taste of the alcohol and solemnity.

Some frightened girls talking to some ugly nobles with their attractive outfits, women dancing on the stage with almost all of their garments missing.

And lastly, the bartender mixing the drinks for the fallen nobles alike, with his simple smile on his face that gave him this kind of mysterious vibe.

"It seems like we found him... He's pretty easy to seek, huh?"

The two assassins slowly walked towards the bartender to order their own food.

"We will order some Avancetille with pickled radish and soup on the side, beef tenderloin as the main, and some rye bread buttered to the extreme as the appetizer."

The bartender hearing those words, looks up to them with some glint in his eyes, and an unknown grin on his lips, as if he's thinking something about these two people looking at him.

"Okay, I got it. Do you want some room to rest for the... night?"

The bartender asked the two figures looking at him, straight in the face, with this still grinning figure.

"Yes, we will take one room for the night." The hooded man answered in a serious tone.

"Then, take the fourth room on the right pathway— here's the key to that room."

He handed out the key to that room and pointed out the right pathway behind him, and there were two of those pathways for some reason.

The two entered the right pathway of the room where they will stay for the night, or so the people thought about these pathways.

"Hmm, it's the right pathway, huh? It seems that no one's been on our trail for the time being."

The hooded man carrying the dishes simply muttered, while walking down to the hallway of the rooms.

This is a common belief in the Underworld— the right pathway simply means that you're good, and no one's planning to attack you or ambush you.

The left pathway on the other hand, simply means that someone's on your trail and preparing to attack you, you must be careful or you will die.

And the rooms also mean something, one was the lowest tiered quest and the fourth one was the highest in the Assasination Quest.

That's basically it, and him giving us the fourth room simply means that there's basically some high profile quest that we can get in that room.

And that's why this bar especially had another name in the Underworld.

The Bar of Assassinations— where many famous assassinations, and killings were planned to, especially in the Arkansas Empire and other nations in the Human World.

And that creepy bartender? That's one of the strongest assassins in the Arkansas Empire.

Also known as the Grinning Assassin of the Alarken Duchy.

That's why he had that mysterious known grin, you will be killed immediately if you're not strong enough to handle his aura, killing aura and that face... full of unknown intentions.

Nevertheless, we managed to get the fourth room which means that he holds us in high regard due to our group, Azkratus.

One of the fearsome assassin organizations in the current Arkansan Empire.

We entered the fourth room, and there's a lot of things on it such as; the wooden tables where you can put your things in, a simple bed for two persons, some cute pillows that you can lay your head to, a lampshade with a small table, some tattered cabinets and a some kind of stone floor.

I put the various dishes that we ordered in the spare table that we can use, because there's a specific reason why we are here.

We want to have a kill quest, a quest that you can only get in the hidden places of the Underworld, and one of those places is the The Bar of Fallen Nobles.

We searched the whole place; from the soft pillows, to the spare tables and tattered cabinets, we flipped the bed upside down, the lampshade itself and the table that it was put on.

And that's when I noticed something interesting.

"This lampshade... It's not connected to anything."

I simply said as I flipped the lampshade upside down to see something, and there it is.

A simple red button that you can click for the Assassin's Board to appear— a kill quest board where you can get assasination targets.

"The first one... Hmm, the Mysterious Merchant King of the Plaedis Principality, isn't it?"

One of the Assasination Quest was the Merchant King of the Plaedis, which was difficult in itself because we don't even know who the Merchant King was, and gathering information was hell when it was the Merchant Guild.

We looked for other quests in the assassination signboard and we saw something that was considered suicidal.

"The Princess of Elvenheim, Charlotte de Fleurdelys— Well, this quest was a pretty much suicide so let's move on to the other quest."

"The Sword of the Night, Scar Nightshade, huh? Well, I don't think we can win with this man even if we fought him in a two versus one form. This man was basically a Swordmaster afterall."

"The Biggest Douchebag of the Arkansas Empire, Keizen Al Sundawn. This bastard was on this list, huh? It seems like he fucked around with other high profile people, so there's someone aiming for his life."

He said contemplating the pros and cons of this quest, if they take it.

"Well, it seems doable? That bastard was already half-dead from that attack."

His partner added, looking at the picture of the man with some unknown anger in his eyes.

"Well, let's look for some quests... We might find something much easier to execute."

They looked for other quest too.

"Hmm, the Governor General of the Ice Tusk, huh? Pretty much a suicide mission like Princess Charlotte de Fleurdelys."

"The Mage of the Sun? Well, we might get killed in this quest, this woman was an Archmage afterall."

They looked at the woman whose hair was like the sunrise that shines upon the world.

"So it's now final? We gotta kill this guy?"

I asked my partner for the mission, and also, for confirmation of the quest.

"Yes, let's kill this guy... I have a grudge on this man, let's give him a slow painful death." She answered in a calm but full of wrath tone.

"Okay, I understand."

Knowing the past of my partner and that man, we will definitely kill that guy in the most cruel way in this mission.

"We will now accept the quest of Keizen Al Sundawn."

"Accepted."

Something answered beyond the wall of the fourth room. Now, the confirmation was set, and we planned to kill that guy first.

Know thy enemies before they know you.

We planned on the specifics and strategies that we will use to observe, track, and options that we will do when we execute that guy.

We planned for the whole night until the sundawn while eating the things that we ordered.
