Blinded by love
There is a beautiful and undeniable smile that appears on the face of a girl in love. That smile was visible on Julia's face at this point. She kept thinking about James and what he said about her being beautiful.
Julia, George and Bella eventually got new phone numbers and Julia called James as soon as she could.
"Hi James, it's Julia," I hope you can rember me? She asked, over the phone.
"How could I ever forget you Julia, James responded with a sweet voice that melted Julia's heart.
"How could I not recognize the voice of the most beautiful woman I met?"
He continued, while she blushed through out the phone call.
He definitely had a sweet mouth.
Julia could listen to him all day saying sweet things about her. The surgery was in two weeks, so Bella and George had begun their series of compulsory tests, to ensure George was indeed a good match, as a donor for Bella.
Everything went on smoothly and James showed up every now and then to help out.
He even suggested another hospital that is less expensive, just to carry out the necessary tests and save some money in the process.
He was very useful and this made the siblings love him more. One of those days, after they had concluded the activities for the day, James finally asked Julia to have dinner with him.
"It'll be fun, I just want to spend some time alone with you," he said, trying to convince her to give him a positive response.
Smiling helplessly, she responded, "of course I'll have dinner with you but on one condition."
Curious to know what the criteria was, he asked, "what's the condition?"
"You'll bring me back home at a decent time," Julia stated, with some level of seriousness. She doesn't like keeping late nights.
James, realizing she was serious, quickly accepted.
"Your wish is my command," he said, bowing jokingly to her, suggesting she was his queen.
He took her to a fancy five star restaurant, it was indeed beautiful.
From the bright lights to the colourful designs, everything screamed luxury. James pulled up a chair for her like a gentle man, and she sat gracefully with a soft smile.
"Do you like the place?" He asked, with expectant eyes.
"I don't like it," she said, pausing a little.
"I love it," she exclaimed.
Jame was immediately relieved, he genuinely thought she didn't like the place.
Just as they were talking, a waiter approached them with menus.
"One menu is enough for the both of us," James said, citing that Julia didn't need one. This was a sign that he was controlling but Julia failed to recognize it for what it truly is, a red flag. She was blinded by love.
James placed his order and suggested a different meal for Julia, promising that she would enjoy it since he's had it before. Another red flag that shows how controlling he is. She trusted him and placed the order.
To be honest, she did enjoy the food. They had a great time eating and taking about various topics including the silly things they did as children and life as an adult. They had so much fun.
Towards the end of their lovely date, James leaned forward and grabbed Julia's right hand.
"I really enjoyed spending time with you Julia. I like you a lot and I want us to start a relationship," he said, with all amount of sincerity.
Julia was speechless.
"You don't have to respond right now, you can think about it," James continued.
"Yes !!! Are you kidding?" Julia responded swiftly.
"The timing might not be the best, especially since we have a surgery at hand to look out for, but I can't deny that I like you too. So yes let's see where this goes but don't mention it to my siblings yet, not until after the surgery," Julia responded.
This was a fair response, just so she would not be distracted from focusing on what brought her to India in the first place. Since she made a valid point, he accepted. They stood up to leave and as a gentleman, he opened the door so she could get into the car.
They left early because he wanted to keep his promise of bringing her home at a decent time. He paid attention to the little details and she appreciated that. She came back home and explained how wonderfully, her dinner date went with James.
Bella's surgery went well and she was placed under close observation with George. George was in a lot of pain but was scheduled to be discharged before Bella. James played a vital role by assisting Julia as much as he could.
"I have to go now, I have a test tomorrow and I need to prepare for it," James told Julia.
By this time, George was slightly awake but no one knew since he stayed silent.
James walked towards Julia and gave her a goodbye kiss.
"Thank you for being very helpful James, I really appreciate your effort," Julia responded.
This was one of the numerous reasons, James loved Julia. She knew how to appreciate him for the sacrifices he makes, no matter how small and the things he does for her. He never really got that from Eva in his past relationship, so he valued Julia for this.
George was eventually discharged and Julia took him home. She spent more time with him compared to Bella, since Bella had nurses to care for her at the hospital while George didn't have anyone after he was discharged apart from Julia.
Bella was also eventually discharged and she went home to join George and Julia. Bella was very grateful to George for donating his kidney to her and saving her life in the process.
She also thanked Julia for quitting her job to accompany them on the journey, this made Julia cry because for the first time, she could also see how sacrificial she has been through out the process.
Bella didn't forget to thank James who worked so hard to assist Julia. He was the extra hand they desperately needed. At this moment, James was moved by how close the siblings were and the bond they shared.
He wished he had such a bond with his siblings but he didn't. Since the atmosphere was filed with love and gratitude, Julia thought it was the right time to tell her siblings that she had started a relationship with James.
"Even though I feel the relationship happened too fast, I support you if this is what you really want," James said, directing his statement to Julia.
"He truly makes me happy and what more can a girl ask for," Julia responded.
"Then congratulations," Bella said.
"I wish you both all the happiness in the world," she continued.
Julia didn't need permission from her siblings to date James but it was nice she told them.
"I saw you two kissing in the hospital you know, I was wondering when you were going to tell me what was going on," George said to Julia, almost in a whisper.
