Chapter 36 - Beyond The Awakening Realm

"Haiz…"

Nylon wouldn't claim himself to be invincible, but against a 3rd-rate young Master with a 3rd-rank Martial Spirit and a bunch of unnamed trash, he could kill as many as they came. They weren't even worth 50% of his strength as a 4th Plane cultivator.

After swiftly looting Kevin and his Servants of anything valuable, Nylon returned to the Manor. Almost right away, he was greeted with looks of awe and astonishment. The only exception was Tessa, who knew nothing other than love and adoration right now.

"You're so amazing, Darling~!" she left the encirclement of protectors, jumping right into his arms. Her kisses assaulted him more violently than any of that trash outside managed to accomplish.

"Hey, I don't mean to ruin the moment and all," Amary said hesitantly, her glasses a bit crooked. "But did you actually think to consider what would happen if you so rashly murdered a young Master of the Water Treader Association…?"

"Hmm?" Nylon looked away from the cuddly girl wrapped around him. "Of course I considered the choices."

"...And…?"

"And I chose to kill Kevoon."

"Yeahh! Screw Kevoon!!" said Tessa, still soaking in Nylon's scent.

"...."

Amary shook her head. What was done was done; there was no point in having regret now.

"Although we can't change anything about this predicament, you should at least know what you'll be up against," she started to explain. "The Water Treader Association, like the North Sea Family, is a large business conglomerate located in Great Britain. There are countless cultivators in the Awakening Realm working for both Families, but that is not all there is…"

Continuing dramatically, Amary revealed the next goal in Nylon's path of cultivation. "The Innate Realm. Have you heard of it?"

"Not much," replied Nylon. "Public information in Stormrock is limited to the Awakening Realm, and because I wasn't exposed to much of the world prior to serving under the 4th young miss, there are many things I don't know."

"That's perfectly fine," Amary consoled. "It would actually be weirder if a Slave was aware of the Innate Realm. Even the vast majority of the mortal population have no idea what it is. However, I'm going to tell you right now everything you'll need to know about the Realm that stands above the Awakening Realm like kings to peasants."

From a pretty lengthy explanation, Nylon summarized the information.

The Innate Realm, or Foundational Realm as some called it, was when one truly stepped outside their mortal shell. It involved more than just physical refinement, and required the creation of something called a 'Spiritual Sea' as well as a 'Divine Sense'.

Only after the creation of both within oneself could a breakthrough into the Innate Realm be made.

But rarely did anyone ever succeed, with the statistic being roughly 1 out of every few hundred Peak Awakening Realm experts actually taking that huge step. These fortunate few reaped the benefits of this grand feat and could oftentimes become multi-millionaires overnight, with respect and prestige across the board.

However… the Innate Realm, which was split into 9 Layers, was not the limit of Earthen cultivation. Far from it.

Above the Innate Realm was the—Sky Realm.

For even most Innate Realm cultivators, the Sky Realm was a legend. For Awakening Realm cultivators, it was a fable.

But to the true higher society of every country, they were the recognized powerhouses.

"You get what I'm trying to say, right?" asked Amary. "The Water Treader Association President, just like the 4th young miss's father, is in the… Sky Realm!"

Nylon would be lying if he said this revelation didn't affect him, because it did. However, with his cheat of a System, he was confident a breakthrough into the Sky Realm was only a matter of time.

"I would ask if you're regretting what you did, but we all know the answer to that," Amary sighed, her exasperation only increasing after glimpsing Tessa's silly expression as she nibbled on Nylon's neck. "Therefore, I'd like to present something to the table."

Nylon was listening.

"What if… you become a bodyguard?"

"???" "???"

Those in the Manor were a bit shocked by this proposal. But on second thought, even Maya and Saria had to admit that Nylon's strength was extremely formidable, likely only a step or two away from the Innate Realm. To conclude, he'd definitely make for a suitable bodyguard.

But for a former slave to become a bodyguard of a prestigious figure like Tessa Northstar…

A Steward was acceptable, but this was too much. By the time the 4th young miss returned to London, ending her vacation time away from the Academy, all eyes would be back on her. Having a former slave with a nameless reputation as a bodyguard wouldn't work.

"I know what you're all thinking," Amary suddenly said, attracting everyone's attention. "But isn't this a simple matter? All we have to do is give young Nylon here a… new identity!"

"Whaa—??"

And so that's exactly what happened.
