"What do you mean like you?" Theod pondered towards the dragon infront of him. "A being of ultimate power, an existence that causes the world to fall in their steps with just their own existence" said the dragon with plenty of chuuni grandeur. Theod wondered if maybe these ultimates were not so ultimate. But the phrasing did make him curious.
'Able to bend the world by their existence alone? I mean, I can do so easily with what I have endured and slain, but do beings like that exist here as well?' he pondered quietly. "But I guess there will be time, maybe your existence is beyond the worlds reproach" he muttered.
"But I forget my manners" said the dragon. With dramatic flare and a worthy bow, the hulking might of scale and horn introduced himself. "I am Veldora the storm dragon! I am one of 4 true dragons existing in the world." Theod wanted to laugh from the over the top introduction, but he held himself back. Despite gaining power to essentially rend dragons and the cursed dogs from existence with a single swipe of his hand, he was still somewhat respectful towards them for their own might, a might he took through combat.
"Veldora, I am Theod" said person introduced himself. He bowed as well, his manners forged and beat into him through out all the years he had lived and died and lived again. "And I am Satoru Mikami!" said the Slime. "Theod and Satoru" Veldora pondered. "Your names are not of this world, more like an otherworlders" said Veldora.
"Otherworlders?" asked Satoru as a question mark formed out of his own slimey fluids. "Beings who cross over or summoned to this world, but they originally weren't from here. They somehow just appear in a sense, even if intentional" said Veldora as he was explaining the bit.
Otherworlders were beings that were either summoned or those that have somehow crossed over. They vary from world to world, but they usually bare a marker of great power carved into their soul.
"Of course, your circumstances seem quite different" Veldora analyzed. "How did you guys get over here?" he questioned. "Well, I was with my junior at work, going out for lunch with his soon to be wife, and I was stabbed protecting him from a psycho" said Satoru. "A reincarnate then? Incredibly rare, unheard of even. Native reincarnates are something that those who have a great power over laws can understand, but a reincarnated otherworlders is not one we even can consider!" the dragon exclaimed with a voice that seemed to indicate excitement.
He turned his head towards Theod as he began to explain his story. "So you crossed over like other strays, but how?" Veldora asked as Theod elaborated on the matter. "So you were riding your horse and when you closed your eyes, you were in this cave? How? Beings of your power should have been able to resist such a phenomenon" said Veldora, seemingly confused.
"I probably would have, if I was fully paying attention to the matter" said Theod. Becoming a being of cosmic proportions doesn't necessarily make you all knowing or all feeling, it just makes you powerful and more well attuned to the cosmic forces.
"I see, I see" Veldora nodded as if he understood. "The fact is you crossed over, yet you guys aren't really panicking like most would, why?" Veldora questioned. "Well, I find no point in it really" Theod muttered, considering how long he has lived, he really doesn't care where he is or where he will end up. Satoru on the other hand had a more practical answer. "Well, I was here for a minute, but I have come to accept it" he said.
Veldora looked at them with curiosity, but it looked like he was essentially more curious than before, like he was bored. Theod wondered why, and took a step forward and felt a barrier in his path. He pressed on it with his hands and saw the complexity the barrier was made out of, but he didn't understand. The system wasn't like his own, similar, but it operated on different principles, different logic.
"Well, we must go find others" said Satoru as he turned to leave. "Wait!" Veldora yelled as Satoru and Theod turned in shell shock. "Your not leaving already are you?" the dragon pouted and pushed his 'index' fingers together in what seemed to be a desperate take on cuteness. It failed utterly miserably.
'That tricks only work for cute anime girls and cats!' Satoru screamed in thought but didn't voice it outloud, his common sense building little by little.
"I guess we could stay longer, besides you look lonely" said Theod as he plopped down and tried to study the prison the dragon was entrapped in. He had no sense of time, and he was okay for waiting for a while. "Hey! Don't leave me out of decision making!" Satoru cried as he slunked over to Theod and began to notice the barrier too.
"So friend, what's with the barrier?" Satoru asked as he prodded it with his viscous, slimey appendages he somehow made from his body. "Well, the story is pretty funny" said Veldora scratching at his chin. "I was fighting a hero because I accidentally burnt down a town a couple hundred years ago, and she was a beautiful thing and so I went all out to late and now I'm trapped here, waiting to dissipate into magicules" Veldora narrated for us. 'Sounds like you deserved it, accident my but' Theod thought.
"So you are just waiting to die?" asked Satoru as Veldora nodded. "With my skills sealed, I can only wait for dissipation and then rebirth" said Veldora. "Well, I can't stand that. You really seem like an upbeat dude to be friends with" said Satoru as Theod stared at him, wondering if he had a screw loose.
"Friends! Friends with a slime and a humanoid!" he screamed. "Sorry if that's much" said Satoru and Theod wasn't really caring. "No of course its okay" said Veldora in a hurry. He seemed to have accepted it fast, really fast. How lonely was the guy? "Well, I guess I have to give you guys a name! I'll come up with the personal names, you guys with family names!" Veldora declared. Rimuru was deep in thought as Veldora named Theod first. "I name you Theod!" he exclaimed. 'That is my name' Theod thought in exasperation.
"I name you rimuru!" Veldora yelled as Rimuru glowed and seemingly filled with power. These names were carved onto our souls, as if they were personal identifiers. "I know a family name, why not Tempest?" Rimuru then asked as Veldora laughed in glee. "I accept! From now on I am Veldora Tempest!" he yelled with gusto.
"Okay, now to figure out how to free you, can't have my buddy behind bars" Rimuru said as he went up to the barrier to analyze it. Theod wanted to just break it, it was the most simple solution. But, the downside was it might accidentally pulverise the thing. "Okay, I have an idea" Rimuru said as he slinked back. "Why don't I just eat you, and we can figure it out from the inside out" Rimuru offered. We both looked at him blankly and Veldora seemingly was gonna laugh, but Rimuru quickly devoured him, him uttering a quick goodbye as he disappeared into Rimurus stomach.
"Dude, how much can you fit in there?" Theod asked in exasperation. "I don't know, but I am nearing full capacity" he said as he seemingly bloated and then swelled back down to normal size. "Why do I have a feeling I am gonna have to be your minder?" he thought outloud.
"First of all, Rude. Second of all, probably right" Rimuru said without shame as they were making their way throughout the cave. Rimuru was seemingly devouring enemies left and right, gaining skills like they were Pokemon. Of course, Theod devoured his own retinue, their essence added to his own, a little drop in the ocean.
As they were nearing the end, their only obstacle an iron door, it began to swing outwards as they hid behind a rock. Three humans stepped through, dressed for an adventure. "Man, those keys were rusty" complained the mage. "Well, the door isn't young either Ellen" said the thief, Identifying the mage. "Gido!" she hissed and was seemingly gonna thwack him with her staff. "Stop it you two!" screamed what they assumed was the leader.
""Shut up Kabal!"" they yelled as they finished their squabble. "Alright, lets get down to business, Gido activate your stealth arts and Ellen, can you give us some light?" Kabal ordered and asked as the team members done their work. As they made their way down the cave, Theod had only one thought as they walked out of the cave into the light.
'Im gonna have a headache, aren't I?'
