Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Supervision

After Chen Mo's brief self-introduction, he settled into the central seat. It was his first time presiding over a high-level meeting. He wasn't entirely sure how to run one, but he kept things simple. The main purpose today was just to show his face—let the company's leadership finally see the elusive chairman.

"Everyone, just introduce yourselves briefly so the chairman can get to know you," Zhao Min said. "Lao Luo, you go first."

"Good day, Chairman. I'm Luo Yonghao—everyone calls me Lao Luo. I'm in charge of the company's R&D department."

"Hello, Chairman. I'm Wang Sijia, deputy head of R&D and senior engineer. I primarily handle development for the Marching Ant system."

As Lao Luo finished, Wang Sijia stood, eyes fixed on Chen Mo with open admiration. Having worked closely with the Marching Ant system and now seeing the intelligent assistant, Chen Mo in her eyes was basically a tech deity.

"Alright, Zhang Yi—you're next," Zhao Min quickly cut her off, clearly used to her cousin's excitable personality.

After everyone had gone around, Chen Mo turned his attention back to Zhao Min.

"Let's move on to the planning and promotion for the smart assistant launch," Zhao Min said, nodding at Yang Lin, who was in charge of the event.

"The press conference is well underway," Yang Lin began. "We've already sent invitations to all major media outlets. The venue layout, schedule, and personnel logistics will be finalized within five days..."

Chen Mo listened quietly, letting Zhao Min and the team handle the details. He was still new to management and preferred to let Zhao Min take the lead for now.

After the meeting, Li Ruoxuan went off with Li Lingfeng, while Xiao Yu returned to her post to continue familiarizing herself with the company. Meanwhile, Zhao Min led Chen Mo to the lab floor.

"Chairman, did you really develop the Marching Ant system yourself?" Wang Sijia asked as they walked.

"Jiajia," Zhao Min said, giving her cousin a warning look. "Chairman, this is my cousin I told you about. She used to be a senior engineer at Fei Company—bit of a computer genius. I poached her. She's now leading the development of the Marching Ant OS for PCs."

Hearing that, Chen Mo studied Wang Sijia a little more closely. From the look of her, she was definitely a handful.

"Yes, the Marching Ant system was developed by me," he said.

"And the smart assistant too?" Wang Sijia looked at him with sparkling eyes.

"Jiajia…" Zhao Min warned again.

"It's fine," Chen Mo interrupted, smiling faintly. He actually appreciated her curious personality. "Yes, the smart assistant is also my work."

"You're amazing! Can you teach me? I can be your research assistant!" she said eagerly.

"I don't need an assistant right now," Chen Mo replied with a smile.

The existence of Ink Girl was too sensitive to risk exposure. Artificial intelligence at her level was comparable to a national strategic weapon—discovery could lead to serious trouble.

After a moment, he added, "But since you're working on the computer OS, I can share a few ideas. The Marching Ant system differs from Linux in many ways, but there are some similarities. For instance, when designing the kernel tree, you might adopt Linux's idea of parallel development—allowing certain areas of the system to evolve freely within controlled boundaries while maintaining overall stability…"

As they walked, Chen Mo shared his general philosophy on OS design, discussing development strategies and common pitfalls.

Zhao Min didn't expect him to actually start teaching her cousin and quietly watched from the side. This chairman—she really couldn't tell just how gifted he was.

Wang Sijia listened with wide eyes, thoughts churning rapidly as she soaked in every word.

Chen Mo didn't go too deep into the technical weeds. He wasn't sure how far the development team had gotten, and explaining everything would take days.

Eventually, he stopped. "That's the broad idea—for reference. Keep me updated on your progress. If anything's unclear, feel free to ask."

Wang Sijia was practically starstruck.

"Alright, Jiajia. You can keep asking questions later," Zhao Min stepped in before her cousin could get carried away again. She knew all too well how wild Sijia could get when excited.

Turning to Chen Mo, she said, "Your private lab's almost ready. Just a few pieces of equipment left to install. The crew's been working around the clock—I expect it'll be finished by tonight. Your office is already good to go."

She led him up to the executive floor.

This was Chen Mo's new office space—overlooking the bustling city below. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a clear, expansive view of Binhai's skyline.

"Looks great," Chen Mo nodded approvingly.

"Any other requests?" Zhao Min asked.

"Yeah—have them install a few bookshelves here. I need to do a lot of reading," Chen Mo said.

He couldn't keep running to Binhai University's library anymore. There were still hundreds of books left in the technology library's reading list. He needed to keep up.

"Got it. I'll have that arranged," Zhao Min said.

"One more thing," Chen Mo added. "If you can, help me look for a nice villa with a good environment. I've been renting a small apartment. It's time to upgrade."

Zhao Min raised an eyebrow. "Chairman, I'm not your personal assistant."

"But you're so capable," Chen Mo teased. "And I am paying your salary."

"Fine, fine," Zhao Min rolled her eyes, laughing. "I'll help you look. Lucky for you I'm good at everything."

She handed him a magnetic card. "Here's your lab pass. There's also a backup stored in my safe. The password is known only to you and me. The lab has facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, and iris scanning. No one gets in without your authorization."

Chen Mo nodded. "Thanks."

"As for your assistant," she continued, "we haven't found the right person yet. I'll keep handling things on your behalf for now. Anyway, I've got a pile of documents to deal with—so I'll leave you to it."

Once Zhao Min left, Chen Mo sat down and powered on the five computers on his desk.

This setup was custom-built—top-of-the-line specs, capable of supporting Ink Girl's full operations. The company's upgraded server room nearby ensured that performance wouldn't be a problem.

"Ink Girl."

With the mic and network online, Chen Mo leaned back in his chair. A moment later, a virtual girl in a white dress appeared across all five screens.

"Brother Mo~ Ink Girl is here!" she chirped happily.

"Starting today, I want you to monitor the company's financial system and bank accounts. If there's any suspicious activity or discrepancies, notify me immediately."
