Chapter 2 CHARITY GALA
Three days later, Ruth stood in front oh her mirror adjusting the sapphire pin on her shoulder. The dress was soft ivory silk, designed to look effortless though it had been taken five fittings. She looked more than pretty in her beautiful dress, though she has a natural beauty. She was so exceptional in her outfit that everyone who looked will be amazed.
The annual Gold foundation, Charity Gala was one the most anticipated events of the year, drawing in celebrities, CEO's and Politicians and every eye will be on her. Her father had made sure that the care ride to the Grand Hilton downtown was filled with silence save for her father's voice issuing instructions like a general preparing for war.
Her father, Maxwell established the foundation many years ago. The purpose of establishing the foundation was to assist the poor and the needy in the society. This kind of gesture is difficult to find. A lot of rich and wealthy men have not really thought of this, it was never in their agenda. The poor and needy have always been neglected in the society, some of them needed assistance to fulfill their desired purpose in life. This was the reason Maxwell established this foundation in order to put smiles In the faces of the young ones. The foundation also helps in paying the school fees of those who may not afford it.
Thousands of people have benefited in Charity Gala foundation, a lot of skills has been learned through the sponsorship of the foundation, the dreams of the young ones are becoming a reality through their help.
A lot of the beneficiaries of the foundation were present, 90 percentage of them were youths.
They Politicians and CEO's noted this generosity and also vowed to replicate same in their quarters.

"Who's that?" She asked a passing volunteer. Oh, that's Hayden Cole. He's one of our newest youth mentors, he grew up in the system. Now he teaches music and life skills in a real one.Hayden is one of the fewest youths that have benefited from the foundation. Through the foundation, Hayden and others have enjoyed free sponsorship on music and other skills. Hayden appreciated Ruth and her father for their magnanimity. The other youths showed appreciation to the founder of the foundation, Mr Maxwell Kelvin and Ruth for showing love and having a good heart. Ruth excluded herself from the group of eligible bachelors waiting to impress her and made her toward the back of the man who didn't seem to know- or - care who she was. And as the for first time night, she smiled for real.
Ruth quickly went back to specially appreciate one of the supporters. He his the CEO of Bright tech engineering company, one of the fore most in America, he has the braches of his company scattered around America. He his also a billionaire. He has supported the foundation tremendously. He has only one son. He believes in serving humanity and bringing impact to lives.
Another supporter was the CEO of Smith Industries. Mr Smith is s good sponsor of the foundation. He his eloquent, rich and well educated. He also believes in serving humanity. He has affected the lives of people positively through his donations.
Before the end of the program,the eligible bachelors who were interested in Ruth tried to reach out to her. Even though she tried to avoid some of them because she wasn't that sure they were genuine. Ruth being a lady that jealously guide her dignity, values. She doesn't want any one to treat with disdain. One of the young men eventually met her. His father is also a billionaire in America. He was ready to settle down in marriage but he hasn't met a woman fit for him. His name was Gerrad
"Hi Ruth, Gerrand greeted"
Ruth asked Gerrad what he cherishes in a woman.
Gerrard said he loves a woman who is rich, famous, intelligent, hardworking. He said he wants a woman that has the beauty and wealth. Ruth said within herself, " certsimy this is not my kind of man".
Gerrand graduated from college five years ago, he studied molecular genetics. He his the only son of his father amidst daughters. But Ruth will not accept Gerrand because he was after a rich and influential lady.
He spoke to Ruth, " I really need to marry you, you are my kind of woman". Ruth saw that the young man was desperate and just needed a woman around, he was not looking for true love.
"Ruth said to him, I don't know you, I need am ample time to study and understand you."
Gerrand said, " you don't need all the time to know me. Ruth was not turning down his suitors.
Ruth is calm, very observing, sensitive and full of virtues. She will eventually get married to a man who is genuine and sincere. It is a matter of time.
