Chapter 6 - six

Chapter Six: we're leaving tomorrow

"So… that's where she's been all these years." Will muttered to himself, his voice low and unreadable, almost like he was speaking to the shadows that clung to the corners of his study. His eyes were locked on the file Tony had just handed him, the one with her name. Or rather… the name she now used. A different name, a different city, a different life. But it was her.

It was always her.

His fingers trembled slightly as he closed the file, the reality of everything crashing down on him. It was all his fault. Every bit of it. The silence. The betrayal. The disappearance. He had been the spark that set the fire. And now, years later, it was burning him alive.

He stood slowly, his tall figure casting a sharp silhouette against the soft amber lighting of the study.

"It's good headquarters is in Country C." His tone shifted — colder now, more controlled. The boss mask sliding back on like second nature. "We're going there tomorrow."

The decision was final. The command was given. No room for questions.

But Tony hesitated — just for a second. His loyalty had never wavered, but even now, he couldn't help but voice the obvious.

"Sir… but your family is there. Including JP."

The name alone carried weight. Everyone knew how much Will had been avoiding his family — all of them except his younger brother. The tension was like a war buried beneath the surface. And now he was going to waltz right back into their city… not for them, but for a girl? A woman who vanished years ago and never once looked back?

Classic Will.

Will's jaw tightened slightly. He turned away from the window, the low glow from the city skyline reflecting off his sharp features.

"Don't worry," he said, his voice smooth and final. "I'll handle it."

The sentence dropped like a brick on the conversation. That was the end of discussion.

Tony knew better than to push.

"Alright, sir." He gave a slight bow, the kind born from years of silent understanding, then turned and left the study without another word.

The door closed with a soft click.

And for the first time in hours, the room was silent again.

Will stood still.

Alone.

Just him and the ghosts.

He stared at the cold cup of coffee on the table and exhaled sharply. This wasn't just about finding her. It was about facing everything he had buried. Everything he had run from. Her. Himself.

Tomorrow, the past would come knocking.

And this time, he'd be the one opening the door.

"Daisy ..." He whispered. She changed her name but she couldn't change her face.

But of all names, why Daisy?

Did she choose that name of she remembered moments they shared or it just happened?.

He couldn't sleep throughout the night. He couldn't stop thinking about what the future had in store for him.

Would she even remember him? She hated him.

"Fuck..." He sighed and tried to close his eyes.

" This is gonna be a long night"

Lights fade....
