Chapter 26 - Thunderous Abyss

After listening to Han Chengyong's introduction, the two left the hall.

'Assemble!' Han Chengyong shouted.

Soon, the team members gathered. Han Chengyong whispered a few words to them, and immediately, several pairs of strange eyes turned to look at Zhou Ran.

Feeling uneasy under their gaze, Zhou Ran asked, 'Are we leaving now?'

"Yes." As soon as he finished speaking, Han Chengyong, Wang Tao, and Li Feng each waved their right hands, summoning beasts through the light gate.

  Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three dark green Swift Shadow Lizards emerged from the light gate.

These Swift Shadow Lizards were not very powerful, only possessing a fourth-tier bloodline, but they were extremely fast and could adapt to any terrain. For treasure hunters, they were the best mode of transportation, capable of travelling thousands of miles in a single day with ease.

The three leapt onto the backs of the Swift Shadow Lizards, while He Ziming and Jiang Yuxi also jumped aboard, sitting behind Wang Tao and Han Chengyong respectively.

Su Heng smiled slightly and drew his right hand lightly, causing a red-and-white flying horse to emerge from the light gate.

"Su brother, you truly have a grand vision. Even such an extremely rare beast as the dragon horse can be yours," Han Chengyong laughed.

"It was a fortunate acquisition," Su Heng said elegantly as he rode on the dragon horse's back.

Zhou Ran was also surprised to see the dragon horse beast. This was an eighth-tier bloodline exotic beast, extremely rare in number. Legend had it that it was born from the union of a dragon and a horse, inheriting the dragon clan's powerful attack strength and extremely fast speed, with a pair of beautiful white wings.

"Come, Lin brother, sit here with me." Li Feng smiled and beckoned to Zhou Ran.

Zhou Ran didn't hesitate, lightly leaping up and sitting down steadily.

Feeling an unfamiliar presence behind it, the Swift Shadow Lizard began to grow restless, trembling constantly.

Li Feng immediately stroked its head, communicating a few words through the beast contract in his mind. Soon, the Swift Shadow Lizard calmed down.

Once everything was ready, the three Swift Shadow Lizards swiftly charged into the purple fissure ahead, with the Dragon Horse Beast following closely behind.

The moment they entered the fissure, Zhou Ran felt the spacetime warping, his soul seeming to leave his body, much like the sensation of entering the system's plane.

'Is this... the Thunder Abyss?' Zhou Ran looked at the dark surroundings, with occasional flashes of lightning, and was greatly surprised. Why had the system's plane appeared in the real world? Could it all be real? And why could he resurrect infinitely?

Countless questions flashed through Zhou Ran's mind.

'What's wrong? Did you discover something, Lin?' Li Feng noticed Zhou Ran's unusual expression and asked immediately.

'No.' Zhou Ran shook his head.

Thus, the seven people and four beasts continued to move swiftly through the dark crack.

'We're mainly responsible for the outer perimeter; we can't go too deep,' Han Chengyong shouted.

After a moment, their speed gradually slowed down, and everyone jumped down from the back of the Swift Shadow Lizard.

'Get ready to fight at any moment. Wang Tao and Li Feng, follow me to summon our main beasts,' Han Chengyong shouted.

  Boom!

A massive bear with a jet-black body and golden armour emerged from the light gate behind Han Chengyong. This was Han Chengyong's main beast, an eighth-tier mid-level Dark Gold Magic Bear, a combat-type and demon-type beast with blood-red eyes glaring menacingly at its surroundings, emanating a chilling aura.

Wang Tao followed closely behind, swiping his right hand to summon a blood-red giant python dozens of metres long. This was the Holy Flame Dragon Python, possessing partial dragon bloodline and also an eighth-tier lineage. However, due to Wang Tao's insufficient strength, it could only be maintained at the upper seventh tier.

Li Feng's beast, Zhou Ran, had already been seen before. It was a sixth-tier upper-tier two-headed hellhound with seventh-tier bloodline, making it quite powerful among dog-type beasts. If it could mutate into a three-headed hellhound, it would be a beast king on par with the Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog.

'Han Team's subordinates are indeed all experts.' Su Heng sat on the back of the dragon horse and laughed.

"Mr. Lin, why haven't you summoned your beast yet? I've heard that you possess a ninth-tier bloodline beast. May I see it?" Su Heng suddenly turned to Zhou Ran.

Zhou Ran smiled slightly and calmly summoned the Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog from the light gate.

"Hmm, hmm, hmm! The Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog is truly remarkable. Lin, you are a young prodigy. I admire you." Su Heng looked at Zhou Ran's beast with a hint of envy.

'Unfortunately, its strength is a bit lacking; it's only fifth-tier.' Su Heng added.

'No problem. Even with just the aura of a ninth-tier bloodline, it can intimidate most beasts. Yu Xi and Zi Ming, summon your scouting beasts as well.' Han Chengyong skillfully commanded his team.

He Zi Ming waved his right hand, and a black giant eagle with a lion's head flew out. It was a sixth-tier upper-tier lion-headed magic eagle, possessing the vision of a bird and the sense of smell of a beast, making it highly suitable for reconnaissance.

Jiang Yuxi immediately summoned the Ice Spike Bone Disc, which followed the Lion-headed Magic Eagle, scattering blue ice powder along the way. If any beasts touched it, they would immediately sense it.

"Let's go to the cave ahead." Han Chengyong was an experienced treasure hunter, and his intuition told him that the cave ahead must contain treasures.

Thus, the group proceeded slowly toward the front.

"Wait! There's an unknown beast by the river ahead!" He Ziming suddenly shouted.

He sensed the Lion-headed Magic Eagle's warning in his mind, and it was quite urgent.

"Can you determine what kind of beast it is?" Han Chengyong asked.

He Ziming closed his eyes and entered the Lion-headed Demon Eagle's mind...

'Judging by its appearance, it should be a sixth-tier Thunder-eating Wolf, but its aura feels off.' He Ziming said.

'It's just a Thunder-eating Wolf; we don't need to worry.' Su Heng shouted from the back of the Dragon Horse Beast.

'But the aura is off,' He Ziming frowned, sounding uneasy.

'We have so many people, what's there to fear! Let's just kill it!' Su Heng ignored him and prepared to charge forward.

'Don't rush, let me check,' Zhou Ran asked the Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog in his mind, 'Er Bao, can you sense what it is?'

But the Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog shook its head, unable to sense anything.

If this was indeed the Thunder Abyss where he had been training day and night, then since the Liu Ying Huan Yue Dog hadn't sensed any danger, it must be safe. However, Zhou Ran still felt uneasy, and why was this Thunder Wolf appearing by the river?

"If Lin Xiong is afraid, he can stay here. It's just a minor enemy." Su Heng laughed.

'Afraid? Are you kidding me? Don't you have any brains? The Thunder-Eating Wolf feeds on lightning and drinks lightning fluid. Would it drink water from a normal riverbank?' Zhou Ran said disdainfully.

Looking at this white-clothed youth, Zhou Ran had no good feelings towards him. He was both brainless and loved to show off his wealth, which was extremely annoying.

Upon hearing Zhou Ran's words, everyone was taken aback.

"I'll go take a look." Han Chengyong jumped onto the shoulder of the Dark Gold Magic Bear and slowly moved forward.

Han Chengyong had avoided countless dangers in the past, all thanks to his cautious nature. This time, he took out a Star Spirit Mirror capable of identifying all beasts and put it on, carefully examining the Thunder-Devouring Wolf.

"What do you think?" Su Heng asked.

Han Chengyong sighed in relief, handed the Star Spirit Mirror to Su Heng, and said, "I didn't notice anything unusual."

Su Heng immediately put it on and confirmed again.

"Overreacting. It's just a Thunder-Devouring Wolf." Su Heng returned the Star Spirit Mirror to Han Chengyong while giving Zhou Ran a disapproving look. Children were still children after all—timid and prone to paranoia. They had wasted so much time, and if the treasures in the cave ahead were claimed by others first, he would make them pay dearly.
