Aaron checked his stats and found that he had leveled up once. The point he earned has also increased by 1000 points. This made his eyes narrowed and he felt that the Swift Wolf gave more experience and even points than the goblin he faced in the dungeon.

He thought for a while and also understood the reason was due to the goblin being low leveled.

Aaron scrutinized his stats, a flicker of surprise crossing his face as he realized he had leveled up. His total points had surged by 1,000, a significant jump that made his eyes narrow with intrigue. The Swift Wolf had granted far more experience and points than the goblin he encountered in the dungeon, a disparity that gnawed at his thoughts.

He mulled over the details, piecing together the reason behind the difference. The goblin had been low-leveled, its challenge negligible compared to the ferocity of the Swift Wolf. The greater the risk, the greater the reward that was the unspoken rule of this world. A realization dawned on him: if he wanted to accelerate his growth, he would need to seek out tougher foes. His gaze hardened with determination as he set his sights on the path ahead.

"Aaron, what kind of mission should we take on next?"

Auriel's tone was cool, measured. She knew full well that he was far stronger than both her and David combined his judgment was essential.

Aaron snapped back to reality, his thoughts settling as he glanced around. Fiona, the receptionist, observed him with a thoughtful expression. She had assumed he was nothing special a simple boy, lacking armor unlike the cloaked girl beside him. Yet, something about him made her pause.

Her sharp eyes flicked from his stance to his demeanor. He carried no visible weapons, no reinforced gear, yet there was an ease in his posture an air of quiet control that seemed at odds with his lack of protection. Most adventurers walked in flaunting layers of armor, flaunting their weapons as proof of their capability. Aaron, however, stood with an unsettling calm, as though the idea of danger barely registered as a concern.

Fiona kept her thoughts to herself but found her curiosity piqued. Was he reckless? Or simply strong enough that conventional equipment felt unnecessary?

Meanwhile, Aaron weighed his options. Missions varied in difficulty and reward, but given what he had just learned about the connection between risk and growth, he wasn't interested in something easy. His gaze flickered toward the mission board as possibilities unfolded in his mind.

Aaron paused, considering his options before finally speaking.

"You pick the task. Make sure it's something we can complete without much trouble." His tone was calm but carried an unmistakable hint of caution.

"At the very least, I don't want to end up in another mess like last time." A subtle weight lingered in his wordsless fear, more a learned restraint from past encounters.

Fiona stepped into the conversation, her tone measured yet confident.

"Since you handled the Swift Wolf pack without much trouble, I have a mission that might suit you. The danger level is lower than your last encounter, but the reward is higher."

Aaron and Auriel exchanged glances before turning their attention to Fiona, anticipation evident in their eyes.

Seeing their interest, Fiona continued. "Have you heard of Smalllight Village? It's about 30 kilometers south of Blueish City. Someone from the village reported a goblin hideout just two kilometers away from their settlement."

She paused, gauging their reactions before adding, "At night, goblins have been raiding their fields destroying crops, slaughtering livestock. The situation is worsening."

Auriel's expression darkened at the mention of goblins. She had no love for the creatures their unpredictability and sheer numbers made them a menace.

Aaron, on the other hand, remained unreadable, his fingers tapping lightly against the desk as he considered the details. The mission seemed simple enough, but he knew better than to assume a straightforward fight. Goblins were weak individually, but they thrived in numbers, often overwhelming their opponents through sheer force and cunning.

"The mission is simple eliminate the goblins before they cause more damage,. The reward is 20 gold coins" Fiona concluded. "As an extra incentive, the guild will reward 1 silver coin per goblin killed."

Auriel turned to Aaron, waiting for his verdict. He narrowed his eyes slightly, weighing the risk against the reward. The idea of exterminating a growing threat appealed to his sense of efficiency, but he couldn't shake the thought that there was more to this than what was on the surface.

"Sounds doable," Aaron finally said, his tone steady but thoughtful. "Though we should be cautious if there's a hideout, there's a chance we're dealing with more than just stray goblins."

Auriel nodded, already running through possible strategies in her mind.

Fiona retrieved the goblin extermination quest, pressing the stamp onto it with a firm motion. Her fingers lingered on the paper for a brief moment before she lifted her gaze to meet Aaron and Auriel's eyes.

"Please, head out as soon as you can," she said, her voice carrying an uncharacteristic urgency. Though she maintained her professionalism, there was an unmistakable plea beneath her words. "I don't want innocent lives to be lost."

For a brief second, the weight of the situation settled over them. It wasn't just another task it was people's survival hanging in the balance.

Auriel gave a slight nod, her tone firm yet practical. "We'll head out after picking up some supplies."

Aaron remained silent, offering only a nod in response. There was no need for words his mind had already shifted to the task ahead.

Fiona exhaled softly, a quiet relief in her posture as she handed over the finalized quest scroll. Without missing a beat, Auriel's mind was already ticking calculating supplies, traps, torches, scrolls, and whatever else they might need to survive the unknown.
