I woke up.
The ceiling was white. Too white
The lights faintly buzzed above me. Machine beeped softly by my side.
A sudden dull pain stormed behind the back of my head.
I saw here and there, confused at first... then it hit me.
I was in hospital.
"So I didn't fall..."
The last thing i remember was the wind... the rooftop... my trembling legs
I turned my head slowly.
Empty chairs. No flowers. No message. No family
No one came.
Not even once.
I laid there for hours, pretending I was asleep, hoping someone—anyone—would walk through that door.
But the room stayed quiet.
"Even strangers care more than my own blood."
Just then, the door opened. A middle-aged doctor stepped in with a clipboard.
He smiled kindly. "How are you feeling son?".
His voice was gentle, concerned.
I stared at him for a moment.
This man… this complete stranger… was the first person to ask me how I felt.
Not my father. Not my stepmother. Not my sisters.
A stranger.
Something cracked deep inside me.
Not like a loud break. No.
It was silent. Like glass shattering under water.
"They don't care.""They never did."
He left after a while, leaving me with my thoughts and my phone.
I hesitated before unlocking it
A dozen missed calls? No.
One message? No.
Just notifications from social media.
My hands trembled as I opened them.
That's when I saw it.
"Freak boy tries to off himself lol. Couldn't even do that right."
"School stalker finallysnapped."
Laughter. Memes. Videos. My pain was trending.
Then I saw her.
The girl I trusted. The one I... I loved
On camera. Crying. Trembling in front of reporters.
"He wouldn't leave me alone… I told him I had a boyfriend, but he kept following me."
"I was scared for my life."
Right beside her, my best friend. The same guy I'd called my brother.
I felt pathetic.
He wrapped his arm around her, acting like her protector. Comforting her. Playing the hero.
I felt something boil in my chest. Not sadness. Not pain.
Rage
A kind of cold, heavy anger that filled every inch of me.
"You want a monster?""Fine.""I'll become one."
I stared at the ceiling again
"If kindness brought me here… then maybe cruelty will set me free."
I made a decision that day.
I would never return to that house. That place was no longer home.
But I remembered something... my grandfather's old house, left abandoned after he died. Quiet. Far. Forgotten—just like me.
It was perfect.
"Let them laugh now.Let them sleep peacefully while I rot in silence. One day... I'll return. And they'll wish I never did."
I slowly pulled the blanket off me, sitting up with coldness in my eyes.
This wasn't the end.
It was the beginning.
