Chapter 80 - Chapter 80: The Choice Appears – Target: Slug

"Mr. Lynx," the Grand Elder began gravely, "not long ago, Slug arrived on Namek. He forcibly seized our Dragon Balls… and summoned Porunga."

"Through Porunga, Slug made three wishes."

"The first… was to restore his youth."

"The second… granted him a lifespan far longer than he originally possessed."

"And the third…" The Grand Elder's voice grew heavier. "The third made him nearly immortal. As long as the core of his brain remains intact, his body can endlessly regenerate."

Lynx's brows furrowed. A wave of doubt filled his heart.

"Grand Elder, if Slug attacked, why didn't you contact me? Or at least reach out to Planet Vegeta? How could you just let him take the Dragon Balls without resistance?"

Lynx had promised to protect Namek. Even if he had been unavailable, the warriors of Planet Vegeta could've responded. And by the Grand Elder's own words, Slug was old and weakened at the time. Even as a Super Namekian, how dangerous could he have been?

Why endure silently until all three wishes had already been granted?

It didn't make sense.

Faced with Lynx's pressing questions, the Grand Elder fell silent. Then, after a moment, he looked to Nail.

"Nail. I would like to speak with Mr. Lynx alone."

"Yes, sir." Nail obeyed and exited the room.

Only after he had gone did the Grand Elder spoke again.

"Mr. Lynx… it was I who told Nail and the others not to request your help. And it was I who instructed the elders to hand over the Dragon Balls."

"What? Why?!" Lin Chen was stunned. His thoughts were spinning.

The Grand Elder let out a long sigh.

"Slug… is my child."

"...What?"

The elder continued solemnly, "Back during the cataclysm that nearly wiped out our people, many of us—the intelligent-type Namekians like myself—gave birth to children imbued with all our essence, then sent them into space in the hope of preserving our race."

"Your planet's Kami, and Slug as well… they were such children. Tragically, very few survived."

"Slug was sent to a planet that came to bear his name—Slug Planet. I chose it because the lifeforms there were weak. I thought even a child like Slug could survive there."

"But I made a terrible mistake."

"That planet… was one of ruthless survival. Its skies were shrouded in dark clouds all year round, with barely any sunlight. Resources were scarce, and the creatures living there fought constantly to stay alive. It was a world steeped in violence and bloodshed."

"Young Namekians are like blank slates, easily shaped by their environment. And Slug… was consumed by the darkness."

Lynx nodded in quiet understanding.

After all, wasn't that what happened to Earth's Kami? Corrupted by Earth's evil energy, his dark side had split off to become King Piccolo.

Slug's experience was the same—but worse. While Kami was able to divide himself and preserve his good nature, Slug had been engulfed completely.

"So… Grand Elder," Lynx asked slowly, "you let Slug use the Dragon Balls… because you felt guilty?"

The elder closed his eyes. "Yes… When he arrived and demanded the Dragon Balls, I recognized him instantly."

"I told him the truth of his birth, hoping that the revelation might stir something within him… that he might abandon his path of evil."

"Slug listened. And then he said… if we truly wanted him to change, we should give him the Dragon Balls."

"I agreed. But… I underestimated just how deep the darkness within him ran."

Lynx exhaled through his nose, expression unreadable.

You were too naïve… he thought silently.

Even someone as wise as the Grand Elder could act foolishly when it came to family.

"After regaining his youth, Slug didn't harm anyone on Namek. He simply left," the Grand Elder went on.

"But not long afterward, I began to hear rumors—Slug had begun gathering followers and building a new army. Several planets have already fallen to his attacks…"

"Because of my weakness… I've allowed a great evil to rise again. All those lives lost—they're on my hands…"

"Please, Mr. Lynx… find Slug. Stop him before more innocents suffer."

Hunt down Slug, huh?

Lynx paused in thought.

In the Dragon Ball movies, Slug had been portrayed as a Super Namekian—said to be stronger than even Frieza or a Super Saiyan at the time.

But honestly? In the movie, he didn't live up to that hype.

Still… this wasn't the same world as the canon. This was a real, branching timeline. Slug's power here was a true unknown.

Suddenly—

Ding!

"Congratulations, host! You've triggered a Ultimate Choice!"

Option 1:Refuse the Grand Elder.

Reward: +1 Time Point.

Option 2:Accept the request. Use Zuno to locate Slug, eliminate him quickly.

Reward: Namekian Regeneration Ability.

Option 3:Track down Slug on your own, without help. Capture him alive and bring him back to Namek.

Reward: Beginner-level Telekinesis (Psychic Power).

Seeing the choices pop up in his mind, Lynx blinked.

Refusing the Grand Elder for just one measly Time Point? Not even worth considering.

But the next two… now those were tempting.

The second option was a fast-track: find Slug using Zuno's omniscience, destroy him outright, and gain the legendary Namekian regeneration ability.

That was no joke. Namekian regeneration was second only to the Majins'. With his Saiyan-enhanced body and regeneration, Lynx could potentially rival even Cell's recovery.

But the third option intrigued him too.

Telekinesis. Psychic power.

It wasn't commonly used, but it definitely existed in the Dragon Ball world.

As he thought through it, Lin Chen recalled the four types of power in this universe:

Physical Strength – raw muscle power: punches, kicks, etc.

Ki Energy – energy attacks like ki blasts, beams, and energy balls.

Magic – like that used by Majin Buu and the wizard Babidi.

Psychic Abilities – represented by characters like Chiaotzu, and even Frieza, who used telekinesis to kill Krillin.

Psychic powers weren't flashy, but they were extremely versatile.

Whichever path he chose, it was clear: the hunt for Slug was now part of his destiny.
