I was standing at the port of the Maiden peak. I had to leave at night only so. Though early in the morning I again tried to catch a good level horsea but guess luck was not with me. All I saw were some normal class magikarp, goldeen, horsea or staryu. I was so disapointed. I was musing to myself when...
"Regina." Linda called me.
"Oh hi Linda." I said.
"Immediately come with me. I will explain everything to you in car." Linda. I nodded at that.
In the car Linda explained to me that there are evidences of Team rocket here. I nodded at that. This was neither mentioned in anime nor in manga. I asked if there was a base but she refused.
"There is no base here according to one of our insider. That I can say for sure. A competetion is going to be held here. It is held every year. Though this year the prize is not an evolution item, but a horsea."
I was confused. Horsea are rare but not that rare. Though sough by many trainers but still it's evolution form kingdra is not known to public yet for it to be that desirable. Sensing my confusion Linda spoke again. "It is a shiny horsea who has many desirable egg move." I was shocked. Man this is just what I want.
"Plus many people will take part in this competition. It means many trainer to steal pokemon from." Linda added.
"So what's my role in this." I asked.
"I want you to take part in this competetion. We need someone who can access the trainer lounge." She stated. I nodded at that. I was a new recruit. It was kind of obvious that my role will not be that big.
I registered myself before heading to pokemon centre. I was to inform my everyday activities till this operation is over.
I immediately read everything about this competetion uploaded in the forum. Trainer have to use one pokemon in elimination round and then three pokemon in the rest of the rounds.
I went to sleep planning how to proceed in the match. For the next two days I trained my pokemon relentlessly. My fearow and butterfree also trained hard trying to catch up with others.
Then the competetion began. It was grand. Many trainers had their eyes on the prize and sponsers on their money. It was quite a big competetion.
My first five matches went smoothly. I used my Vulpix only. For some reason all the trainers sent out their grass pokemon only. Must be becaus of how rare fire pokemon are in kanto. Plus their class were also maximum to maximum gym only. I had passed the elimination round and passed to participate in the main competetion. It was to happen the next day. Though I spotted N from pokemon black and white. This is strange alright.
The next day I battelled many more trainers but none were that strong. But the experience gained was welcome anyways. I had battelled using all my pokemon. I had reached finals like this. My match was tomorrow. I was about to leave when I noticed one of the trainer sneeking out to an alley. I decided to follow him. I saw him talking to Ariana. I recorded it secretly.
They were planning to steal everyone's pokemon tomorrow and disguise it as a poacher's attack. I imediately went to Linda.
"Hmm you have outdone yourself again Regina. Like always you have exceeded my expectations. For tomorrow I have a plan. You just go and battel. Leave the rest to us now." Linda stated. I nodded at that. Obviously I am still a new trainer now, my role will be minor. I will gain my pay and a strong horsea out of this anyway.
The next day I went. My battel was with N. I was a bit nervous about this one. All his pokemon class and level were very high.
"Go Staryu."

"Go Pikachu"
"Staryu use psybeam."
"Dodge and use electro ball" Pikachu was able to dodge easily.
"Bubblebeam Staryu"
"Pikachu dodge and nasty plot." I called out. She did just that.
"Water gun staryu rapid fire."
"Dodge and use nasty plot again and again."
"You won't be able to dodge forever." N said.
"Use quick attack to get closer to it Pikachu." She did just that. As soon as she went close.
"Don't let her get close staryu." N called though my Pikachu was much quicker so was able to get close.
"Sweet kiss." Staryu was confused.
"No Staryu snap out of it." N said.
"Nuzzle." Nasty plot had increased my special attack a lot so the effect was much more. Staryu was now both paralyzed and confused.
"Staryu use water pulse." It was unable to attack though.
"Pikachu thunder shock." Staryu was badly injured.
"Staryu use psybeam." Pichu was this time hit.
"Pichu use Electro ball." She shocked it in the air. Staryu fainted.
"You did great pikachu." Though she was very tired.
"Pika pika"
"Return staryu. Go Growlith."
"Return Pikachu go nidoran(male)"
"Nidoran use focus energy."
"Growlith use fire spin."
"Nidoran dodge and use fury attack." Growlith was hurt but...
"Growlith use flame thrower, close range."
"Nidoran amnesia immediately." I knew nidoran won't be able to dodge so I instead asked for her to increase his special defense.
"Growlith use will o wisp"
"Dodge" Me.
"use heat wave" N.I was shocked. Nidoran was hurt badly. He attacked when nidoran was in air so I knew dodging it was of no use.
"Double kick."
"Dodge Growlith and flamethrower." Growlith was'nt able to dodge but so was with Nidoran.
"poision sting." Growlith was poisioned.
"Growlith use fire fang." N called out. Looks like now that Growlith is poisioned N is no longer holding back on using attack needing physical contact.
"Nidoran dodge and use focus energy and then double kick." Growlith fainted. A critical hit it seems. I was lucky this time. Though nidoran was extremly tired.
"Great job nidoran." I said while recalling him. He just smiled at me before entering pokeball.
"Go leipard."
"Go Cleffa."
"Leipard use dark pulse."
"Cleffa dodge and use icy wind."
"Leipard use shadow ball"
"Cleffa dodge and use pound."
"Leipard fury swipes."
"Encore." The attack hit cleffa but what I wanted happened anyway. Now Leipard can ony use fury swipes till three turn. N gritted his teeth uppon realization.
"Icy wind." It directly hit Leipard.
"Psybeam."
"Use fury swipes." Psybeam hit but so did fury swipes. 1
"Icy wind again."
"Fury swipes." This time cleffa dodged though. 2
"Psybeam again." This time Leipard was not able to stand though.
"You did great cleffa." She suddenly begun to evolve and I had my own clefairy. Guess her happiness maxed out.
"Therefore the winner of this tournament is REGINA" Announcer said.
"Wonderful strategy and power display by Miss Regina. It looks like it totally blew away our audience mind today." Commentor said.
Everyone started clapping for me as I got my reward that is a gold mini trophy. 20,000 poke dollars and my own shiny horsea.
