Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Sophie...

The day had ended, and the weekend was here. I felt a sense of relief. My grandma's birthday had already been celebrated, but I still wanted to get her something special. It was important to me.

I had saved up a bit of money from my last job at the convenience store, and tomorrow, I was planning to go to the mall to find the perfect gift for her. It wasn't much, but I knew it would mean a lot to her. She deserved it.

I was excited and a little nervous. I hadn't spent this kind of money on someone else in a while, but I wanted to make sure she felt appreciated. Tomorrow, I would find something that would show her how much I loved her.

I walked into the mall the next day, my mind focused on finding the perfect gift for Grandma. She always got me little things, even when I didn't deserve them, and I wanted to do something special for her this year.

My savings from my old job at the convenience store had finally built up enough for me to buy something nice, a simple, elegant necklace. It wasn't much, but I knew she'd love it.

I headed toward the elevators, my heart light with the thought of surprising her. As I pressed the button, I couldn't help but think about how much I missed being able to give her gifts. My thoughts kept drifting back to her smiling face when we celebrated her birthday, and I felt a pang of guilt for not having done more for her in the past.

The elevator doors slid open, and I stepped inside, ready to take the short ride up to the jewelry store. But just as the doors were about to close, a hand shot out, stopping them with a soft ding...

I froze...

My heart skipping a beat, as the figure that stepped inside made my knees almost give way...

It was Elliot...

He wasn't in his usual sharp suit. Instead, he wore a simple pair of jeans and a tight shirt that hugged his muscular frame in all the right ways. My eyes couldn't help but trail over the outline of his arms, his broad chest, and the way his casual look somehow made him even more attractive.

I swallowed hard, trying to steady my breathing. "Sir" I whispered, a little breathless.

He turned his head, offering a soft smile that made my stomach flip. "Sophie," he said, his voice low, almost amused by my reaction. "How are you?"

I couldn't think clearly, too distracted by how good he looked. I quickly looked away, my cheeks burning. My mind screamed for me to say something, but all that came out was a nervous laugh. "I..uh... I didn't expect to see you here."

His grin widened, and my heart fluttered uncontrollably. The elevator began its ascent, but I could hardly focus on anything but the man standing just a few feet away, making everything else feel less important.

As the elevator hummed quietly, I could feel Elliot's gaze on me. My heart raced faster than ever, like it might burst out of my chest. I tried not to look at him, but I couldn't help it. His presence was too overwhelming. His eyes were warm and intense, making my skin tingle, and I couldn't shake the feeling that he was paying much more attention to me than I was comfortable with.

Then, his voice broke through my thoughts. "I have to stop on this floor," he said, and I nodded, barely able to form words.

The elevator slowed down as it reached the floor, but just as the doors were about to open, a flood of people rushed inside, pushing past him. My breath caught in my throat as I saw the crowd move in, squeezing him closer to me. Before I knew it, his body was pressed against mine, and I gasped softly, barely able to think.

His chest was so close I could feel the warmth of his body on mine. I could barely breathe with how close we were. Our faces were inches apart, and I could see the slight glint in his eyes as they met mine. I swallowed hard, my whole body tensing at . My heart was hammering in my chest, and my palms felt sweaty against the cool metal of the elevator.

I could smell his cologne, something woodsy and rich, making everything feel even more intimate. The space between us was so small, I could feel the heat from his body warm on mine making my knees feel weak.

I wanted to say something, anything, but all that came out was a soft, shaky breath. I didn't know whether to pull away or stay there, frozen in the moment. I could feel my face burning, and I couldn't look away from his eyes, which were locked on mine.

I wasn't sure how much longer I could stand this closeness without completely losing control.

I felt Elliot's hands on my waist, holding me gently but firmly. It wasn't too much, but it made my heart race. His hands were warm against my body, and I could feel the heat from his touch, making my breath hitch.

His hands moved slightly to keep me from being pressed too hard against the glass of the elevator. I could feel his fingers on my back, and it sent a little shiver down my spine. His touch was soft but strong, and it made me feel a strange mix of comfort and excitement.

We were so close now, and I could feel his chest near mine with every little movement of the elevator. The warmth of his body made my heart beat faster, and I couldn't think straight. I was overwhelmed by how close he was, by the way his touch made me feel.

I felt like everything else in the world disappeared for a moment, and all I could think about was how close he was to me. I didn't know what to do, but I couldn't move away. I didn't want to. The way he held me, the way he touched me, made everything feel different, like nothing else mattered.

Elliot...

I was just trying to get to the glasses store when I saw the elevator doors starting to close. Without thinking, I reached forward and stopped them, stepping inside.

The moment I saw Sophie standing there, my heart skipped a beat. There was something different about her today. She looked... stunning, like she always did, but today, it was as if the soft glow of the light made her stand out even more.

She wasn't wearing her usual office clothes, no, she was dressed casually, and I found myself appreciating how her dress fit her and how her hair fell around her shoulders. The way her eyes widened when she saw me, like she was surprised I'd be here, had me smirking.

But it wasn't just the way she looked. It was the way she looked at me. There was something in her eyes today, something... different. And it made me feel things I couldn't quite ignore.

I cleared my throat to break the silence. " Sophie, How are you?" I asked, my voice a little raspier than I intended.

Her lips parted, but she seemed lost for a second. It made me wonder what was going through her mind

The elevator was quiet, and I could feel Sophie standing next to me. She was so close, and I couldn't stop thinking about her. Every time I looked at her, my heart started beating faster. She was looking down, not meeting my eyes, and I wanted to get her attention, but I didn't know how.

I spoke, trying to keep my voice calm. "I need to stop on this floor." Sophie nodded, but I could tell she was a little distracted.

As the elevator slowed down, the doors started to open, but suddenly a lot of people rushed in. They pushed me closer to Sophie, and I was caught off guard. We were standing so close now, her body pressed against mine. It was so unexpected, and I could feel my heart race even more.

I could feel the warmth of her body, and it made everything else feel far away. Her face was just inches from mine, and her eyes met mine for a second. I could see how surprised she was, and I couldn't stop staring at her. I could smell her perfume, light and sweet, and it made everything feel more intense.

Her breath quickened, and I could tell she was nervous, just like I was. I wanted to say something, but I couldn't find the words. We were so close now, I could feel her heart beating against mine.

I couldn't move, couldn't pull away. Her body was right against mine, and I didn't want to go anywhere. My hand instinctively reached for her waist, not to make her uncomfortable but to steady her as the elevator moved. The touch was soft, but it felt like a spark between us.

She shivered slightly, and it made my chest tighten. I didn't know what was happening, but I couldn't stop looking at her. Everything about this moment felt like it was just for us, and I didn't want it to end. I didn't want to pull away, even though I knew we were so close.

It felt like time had stopped, and all I could think about was her, and how much I wanted to be closer to her.
