Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 I'm doing this for your own good, Clark

After Clark and David left.

Whitney and several football players who were knocked to the ground struggled to get up after a while.

Several people beat up another person without even touching his clothes. Amid the laughter of the crowd, they supported each other and left in embarrassment.

Not long after they left the bar, a thin figure walked out of the bar and stared at the people leaving in baseball uniforms with cold eyes.

"No rush, there's plenty of time."

He murmured something and returned to the bar to continue drinking slowly, his eyes occasionally sweeping over a burly black man who was picking up girls in the corner of the bar, his face expressionless, as if he was looking at a dead person.

The original plan cannot be disrupted.

As for those equally bad high school students on the school team.

He remembered that tomorrow night was the spring dance for the town's high school.

"I've never attracted anyone's attention at a dance before, but this time is different." Jeremy sneered.

He will be the most dazzling one at the party.

"Put me down, David."

Clark woke up weakly and struggled to get off David's shoulders.

"I don't want to go back."

He hasn't figured out how to go back and face his parents.

"Why, eighteen-year-old Clark wants to run away from home?"

David felt that there was a very simple solution to this matter and there was no need for any pretentious back and forth.

He raised his hand and made a knife move.

Bang!

After being hit on the back of the neck, Clark looked back at his brother in confusion, not understanding what his brother was going to do.

"You didn't use enough strength."

Seeing this, David smacked his lips.

Free from the kryptonite radiation, despite the lack of sunlight, Clark gradually began to recover.

Bang!

He delivered another blow.

The terrifying force was enough to smash a tank into pieces with a single knife. The air wave spread over ten meters, like a strong wind, causing the weeds on both sides of the road to sway violently.

Clark's eyes rolled back and he fainted.

"It's done."

His complexion returned to normal on the dim road, and David carried the unconscious Clark back to the farm.

The couple in the house were still waiting for their two children to come back, and warm light was coming out of the door.

Before entering, he pulled out a green glowing kryptonite necklace and waved it around Clark's face, giving him a layer of 'makeup'.

After being exposed to kryptonite radiation, Clark, who had almost recovered, fell into a coma and his expression became painful again. His face was weak and pale, as if he was seriously ill.

Feeling that it was about right, David put away the kryptonite with satisfaction.

"A Kryptonian would have to be exposed to kryptonite for months or even years before his life would be in danger."

It's fine for a short time, especially since Clark is not an ordinary Kryptonian.

"Of course, I'm doing this for your own good, Clark."

He definitely didn't do it for any information prompting Clark's pain +3, +2 or something like that.

David smiled and carried Clark inside.

"Oh my God, David, what happened to your brother?"

Seeing this scene, Martha covered her mouth in fear.

"Clark, why did you faint?"

Jonathan had an expression of disbelief. Clark was stronger than a bull when he was a child and had never been sick or injured. It was the first time the couple saw him like this, with a pale face and unconscious.

"I don't know either. It seems like there's something wrong with Clark's super strong physique."

David said without blushing or beating his heart.

"Let him lie down."

Carefully taking Clark from his youngest son's shoulders, Jonathan laid him flat on the couch.

Martha quickly poured a glass of water, came to the sofa, and called her son's name anxiously.

"Clark?"

Both the couple were a little flustered.

Because to be honest, even though they are middle-aged, they have never encountered a situation where their son is sick.

"Hmm."

Feeling a shake, Clark woke up in a daze.

His parents surrounded him anxiously, with deep concern in their eyes. They were very careful and did not dare to shake him hard.

"Father, Mother..."

Returning to his warm and familiar home, looking at his parents standing in front of him, he felt a little dazed.

He almost forgot when white hair started growing in his father's hair, his face became haggard, his body was no longer as strong, and the years carved wrinkles in the corners of his mother's eyes and her skin became loose. Everything stabbed his eyes like knives.

I only remember that when I was a child, I liked to ride on my father's neck and let him run around. I was not interested in the passing game that other fathers and sons liked to play, which made my father helpless that I could only play with David.

By the way, there was a time when he liked to eat corn dogs and always pestered his mother to make them for him... Scenes from the past came to his mind.

Clark's nose felt sore uncontrollably as if it had been hit by a punch. He was the one who wasted his parents' youth.

"My parents picked me up from a meteor shower and raised me like their own son. They even cared about my psychology and emotions more than they did David.

Never asked for anything from me, never expected anything from me."

It was easy to take advantage of his abilities and package him into a promising football or soccer star so that he could earn a lot of money without having to work on the farm all day, but his parents never did that.

"They even asked me to hide my ability just to protect me, but I'm still fed up with it..."

"Clark, what's wrong with you?" Her son was in a trance and didn't speak for a long time. Martha became even more anxious, fearing that something was wrong with his health.

"Mother!"

Clark's eyes turned red, and he suddenly stood up with guilt, opened his arms and hugged the couple who loved him most in the world.

"I was wrong, father.

No matter what my identity is, it cannot change the fact that I am your son."

How stupid I was before. It was obvious that his parents didn't care about his identity. For more than ten years, they gave him the best and the warmest love in the world, just like their own son.

But he became troubled by this after learning the truth.

"As long as you come back, Clark."

Jonathan felt relieved and a smile appeared on his face. He looked at Martha with relief and hugged his son.

"It seems like someone gave up and ran away from home?"

David, who was leaning against the door frame, clapped his hands with a playful look on his face. Clark remembered that he felt a little embarrassed before, and said to his brother.

[Happiness from Clark +14, Gratitude +7, Shame +5...]

"You always see things better than I do, David."

Jonathan and Martha also acknowledged this; their youngest son was smart and mature and never gave them any worries.

"Clark, are you okay?"

The warm family atmosphere returned to normal. Martha thought of her son's pale face just now and asked, "Why do you look like you are sick?"

"I'm fine, except for the back of my head...sss!"

Clark touched the back of his head, as if he was hit by a rocket falling from the sky. He gasped in pain and looked up at David in confusion.

"David you...?"

Was he too weakened by Lana's necklace to be beaten so hard by his brother?

This shouldn't be the case…

"It seems like this one is a bit heavy again."

A thought flashed through his mind, but David calmly changed the subject.

"Maybe Clark was injured by Whitney and the others."

"Injured? Clark, you were beaten?"

Clark was about to ask David what was going on when Jonathan and Martha immediately asked him questions with confusion and concern, and he couldn't find any chance to ask David for a while.

Under the starry sky, the farm has a huge warehouse where machinery and tools are stored.

On the second floor, at an open-air window, Clark explained the whole story to his parents, and finally managed to convince them that he was not hurt at all.

At least not from Whitney and the others...

The breeze blew, and the wheat fields on the farm rustled, making people feel comfortable and peaceful, and everything seemed to be the same as before.

Clark sat in front of the window, gazing through the astronomical telescope at the unobstructed view one kilometer away, and a smile appeared unconsciously on the corners of his mouth.

In the telescope, in front of a house, a beautiful black-haired figure was sitting on the staircase corridor, enjoying the evening breeze and writing an English report.

The most important thing was that the figure no longer had the green necklace around his neck, which made him imagine...

Suddenly, a figure sneaked up to Lana's house, took a few photos of Lana behind the bushes, put away the camera, shook the bushes deliberately, put down a gift box in panic and shyly, and turned and ran away.

Lana went over puzzled and opened the gift box.

Several butterflies with colorful wings covered with green glimmering dust fluttered out, like a scene from a fairy tale.

She covered her mouth in surprise and looked at the street, trying to find the person who gave her the gift.

"A suitor?"

Clark felt a little bitter in his heart. Lana's charm was really extraordinary.

He wanted to see who the person who sent the gift was and whether he recognized him.

"I remember someone asked my mother for three hundred dollars, saying he was interested in astronomy?"

Suddenly, a voice was heard and Clark was startled and turned to look.

David walked up the stairs slowly, looking strange and surprised.

"Honestly, when I first saw you looking outside with that thing, I thought you had learned about your origins and were searching for your hometown among the stars in a lonely and sentimental way."

"But the result is ..."

Looking at the astronomical telescope pointed directly at a house, he raised an eyebrow.
