Chapter 2 - The road to medicine hall

The Road to Medicine Hall

Early morning.

Rudra stood at the gates of the imperial palace, his small figure carrying a heavy bag and even heavier expectations.

He turned to his parents

Rudra: Mom, Dad… I'm leaving now for Medicine Hall Academy. I'll make you both proud.

Gator Yan (smiling): My son, you've already made us proud. Focus on your cultivation—and remember who you are.

Supra Yan: Here, take this.

She handed him a shining Granth, humming with powerful energy.

Supra Yan: This is a Griffin Knight Granth. It's extremely compatible with your lightning and fire elements. But…

Gator Yan: You don't yet have the power to refine this. When you reach the Beast Spark Knight level, you'll be ready. Until then, keep it safe.

Rudra (grinning): I will. Thank you!

Rudra boarded a horse cart and waved farewell to his parents.

After a few hours of travel, the cart stopped near a towering mountain.

Cart Rider: Young master, the academy is up there. Students must climb on their own. It's the rule. I must return to the empire now. Be safe.

Rudra: Thank you, uncle.

He looked up at the mountain—at least 5 kilometers of steep terrain.

He took a deep breath… and began his climb.

Midway Up the Mountain...

Suddenly, three beasts leapt onto the path.

Rudra (eyes wide): Spiritual Wolf Trio… they're starving…

One lunged forward. Rudra fell back, its claws grazing his chest.

The wolf leapt again—but Rudra reacted fast.

ZAP! His Lightning Blade burst forth from his left arm, slicing through the beast's chest. It fell, dead.

The second wolf launched a wind sphere from its mouth.

Rudra dodged with a jump and slashed the beast mid-air. It howled and fell injured.

WHOOSH! Rudra charged with Fire Fist, aiming to finish it—

But the third beast blocked with its rocky head.

Rudra (gritting teeth): You want a head-on fight? Let's go!

He punched repeatedly, flames growing fiercer with each strike.

BOOM! With one final, fiery blow, the third beast collapsed.

Rudra pulled out his dagger and finished the two remaining wolves.

He took a deep breath and collected three elemental stones from their bodies.

Reaching the Gates

A massive gate stood before him. On the board above:

"Medicine Hall Academy"

Rudra (thinking): This is the only academy that teaches not just knight training—but also medicine crafting, elemental techniques, and spiritual formations.

The old man gave me his knowledge…

Here, no one will question how I know things. They'll think I learned it here.

He joined a long line of students waiting to register.

A few minutes later, it was his turn.

Examiner: Hm… 5th chakra point level?

Who are you?

Rudra: I'm Rudra, from the Kak Empire.

Examiner: (calls a senior student) Mo! Take this one for testing. He's already broken through level 5.

Physical Test Grounds

Senior Mo: I'm Mo. Rudra, right?

This test is simple:

Lift these two buckets (tied to a pole) on your shoulders and complete 5 full laps around this ground.

No spiritual energy allowed—only pure physical strength.

If you cheat, you're disqualified. Got it?

Rudra: Yes, Senior Mo.

He approached the buckets and lifted them.

His face turned red. He clenched his teeth.

Rudra (thinking): These must weigh over 20 kg…

Mo: Correct. 23 kg of solid rock.

Still, Rudra didn't stop. He began walking.

1 lap…

2 laps…

By the third lap, his sweat drenched the ground.

But he didn't give up.

After an hour, he completed the fifth lap and collapsed to the ground, completely drained.

Mo (smiling): Congratulations, Rudra. You are now officially a student of Medicine Hall Academy.

Assigned Housing

Mo: Follow me. I'll take you to your assigned house.

They arrived at a small house.

Mo: This will be your home. The academy doesn't have hostels. Instead, every student shares a house.

Each house has five rooms. So you'll have four teammates.

Your house number is 113—which also becomes your team number.

Rudra: So I won't be staying alone?

Mo (laughs): No, no. You're the fifth member. They'll be back later. Get some rest for now. Classes start tomorrow.

Rudra entered the house. No one was inside yet. He checked the first room—but it was filled with someone else's belongings.

Rudra (thinking): Must belong to another boy. Let me try a different room.

Suddenly, someone entered.

???: Hey! Who are you?

Rudra: My name is Rudra. I was told to stay here by Senior Mo.

Boy: Oh, you're the fifth member! I'm Sesh Pam. Are you also from the Kak Empire?

Rudra: Yes… but how did you know?

Sesh: Because the other three and I are also from the Kak Empire. I just guessed.

Rudra: Wow... we're all from the same empire?

Sesh: Yep. Your room is upstairs—third door. Go freshen up. I'll introduce you to the others when they return.

Rudra: You mentioned something about a team?

Sesh (smiling): I'll explain everything later.

Rudra's Room

Rudra unpacked and took a quick bath.

From his window, he admired the academy. The view was beautiful.

He closed the window and sat on his bed.

Taking out the elemental stones and three empty Granths, he focused his spiritual energy.

The stones floated above the Granths, slowly transferring their power into them.

After a few hours, the energy was fully absorbed.

Rudra: I've created three new elemental techniques… but only the Lightning Steps suits me.

I'll sell the other two and buy more elemental stones.

Meeting the Team

Knock knock!

Rudra: Coming!

He opened the door.

Sesh: Come to the hall. The others have arrived.

In the hall, three students sat waiting.

Sesh: This is Rudra—our new teammate.

Rudra: I'm Rudra. I'm at the 5th chakra point level. My elements are fire and lightning.

Everyone began introducing themselves:

Parshu Si (boy): 4th chakra level, light element

Gouri Mu (girl): 4th chakra level, wind element

Gan Mu (girl): 5th chakra level, water element

Sesh Pam: 4th chakra level, earth element

Rudra: Sesh, you mentioned we're a team. When did that happen?

Sesh: At this academy, everyone who shares a house is considered a team.

Our team is called Team 113—same as our house number.

Also, there's a rule: if a student wants to leave a team, they must stay at least 7 days with the

ir current team.

Rudra: Oh, okay. So from now on—we're all one team?

Everyone: Yes!

They talked, laughed, and shared stories for a few

 hours.

Eventually, they all went to bed.
