Chapter 2 - Obligatory Rant of a Completely Sane Author

Hello everyone currently reading this I Fat_Immortal greet you, I also hope you're having a good day. Now that I have done my due diligence in being nice and polite I can officially rant about my book, you the readers, and everything in-between.

I'll first say that this fanfic was inspired first by the fanfic author AStoryForOne. He wrote an absolutely fabulous fanfic called "A Nascent Kaleidoscope" which has a wonderfully written Omake (a short one shot non-canon story) about how Wilhelm, his main character goes to the Dr. Who universe and nags Dr. Who relentlessly until he gives him a sonic screwdriver in return for promising never to come back. At least I think that's how it went. Now I can assure you the Omake exists (or existed) but I can't prove it since I just looked through all of the book's chapters in an attempt to reread it and give you an accurate summary of it but I sadly could not find it. The next shoutout I have is to the author Big ToFu whose unfinished (damn you author) fanfic inspired my book and was called "The Fastest Man Alive - Marvel" He writes at first an atypical hero story where he skulks through alleyways while vanquishing villains novel which wonderfully evolved into a kingdombuilding novel with the protagonist creating a space empire in freaking Marvel. It also has the main character be an insane scientist who constantly invents new things using his on patented madness to bring to life his inventions. I thought to myself cool a super scientist in literature who wasn't some evil villain but instead bettered the world. This is how scientists should be portrayed. After reading and rereading it for 2 years I couldn't help but think to myself if I ever wrote a novel I'd do it like that but maybe without the heroing as a ninja wannabe. Lastly a Chinese fanfic "I Have a Super USB Drive" by Darkness Black Bear was also an inspiration. Kind of the first book in its class in my opinion or at least the first book like this that I read. For those not in the know the main character finds a USB drive and downloads movies to it and extracts items from said movies into reality and uses the items like NZT-48 to better himself and his family. When reading it I thought the main character was not terribly shackled morally but not some psychopath who kidnaps women and has his way with them like some insane Chinese novels. He was morally grey which I think most people are and I personally can relate to that. He bettered himself when the opportunity arose but stepped up to save the world when no one else could.

I'll also tell you about all the fun worlds he will potentially be going to at the end of the chapter. I'm showing you EVERY potential world on my list, not just the ones I picked because it would be too easy for YOU the reader to know exactly where he is going and ruin the surprise. I'm evil like that, sue me. What are you going to do about it my readers from across the screen? (Author raises his hand's pinky to his mouth like Dr. Evil and laughs hysterically like the sane individual he most definitely is). Seriously though, I highly recommend you read this chapter before deciding if you are going to drop this because I know some of you the readers tend to rage quit books when they see something they don't like before giving it and the author a chance to grow (my writing does improve queue surprising gasp). You shall become somewhat enlightened about my book and myself by reading this chapter without giving the books content away.

I first want to say that I have completed the impossible for a mind addled with ADHD which is writing 160 chapters without dropping this book. I have grown a lot as an author on my journey writing this which resulted in my writing skills drastically improving. That is not to say my earlier chapters are bad per say, they are not let the record note. Instead I'd label them as good compared to my first book. My later ones are even gooder and my future ones will be gooderifiker! Please trust me, the author, to write well even though I made up a word like gooderifiker. Shakespeare was said to have invented 1700 words so I conclude with my infallible logic that I am at least equal to Shakespeare in greatness (queue applause)!!!

To the disappointment of most likely many of you I do use chatgpt as a writing aid. Gasp oh no he didn't! Seriously though I write about 90% of a chapter in a much too large notepad document titled marvel chapter summaries.txt. After I find the chapter acceptable-ish I throw it into chatgpt to refine it and give it some fluff (the audience gasps in horror). I am sadly not confident enough as a writer to not use it. YES I will admit that there is less chatgpt usage in some chapters and more in the others but worry not readers after months of writing this fanfic I use less chatgpt than I did at the beginning of the book. Now a warning for you, chatgpt has a certain kind of flair that can leave a mark on anything it chews up and spits out. After I make a chapter and submit it to the AI overlord chatgpt I go back in and like a surgeon performing well… surgery I heavily edit it to get rid of that chatgptness. Sometimes it's still there even with my work. An example I randomly made up since I deleted all the good examples in a fit of rage is "Tony Stark, pulsing with celestial energy was preparing for his next grand adventure, the universe itself could hardly await his grand journey!" Yea Chatgpt tends to add grand, over the top, and random shenanigans to my chapters but it is a necessary evil to make my story flow better. Heck, the only thing I'll write before I'm comfortable enough as an author to drop chatgpt is this chapter you are currently reading.

Tony Stark in my novel tends to invent less than Tony Stark in the movies, comics and other fanfiction. I have my reasons for this! Scientific research is an arduous, long and rigorous process. We discredit all the hard working scientists who spend years researching some inane subject in an attempt to invent something new that could benefit the lives of us commonors. I mean seriously who invents a mecha battle exoskeleton ironman suit using his wit two sticks and some tinsel in a cave surrounded by terrorists without them noticing in like a month. I know that there is this guy out there trying to build a real life version of the ironman suit and he has been doing it since the ironman movie first came out, seriously that came out in like 2008 that's 17 years of work for a suit that's not finished and worse than Tony's suit in the movie. So instead of inventing new shit all the time with a couple hours of work and a moment of eureka I have Tony Stark travel to other worlds to steal cough cough I mean acquire the fruits of their labor and then take credit for it like the ethical scientist we all know Tony Stark is.

I created my own AU Marvel-verse. That way I can pick the stuff I like from the MCU, then choose what I like in the comics, finally add a dash of my own patented madness, creativity and ideas and put it in a proverbial blender to create the universe presented to you in this terrific fanfic. Because I love it.

My Tony's childhood which lasts 105 chapters followed by a long but freaking awesome well placed timeskip places him at the age of 20. Due to how long the childhood is I will admit that I personally feel like I rushed through those chapters a tad bit. They aren't bad by any means but arcs and adventures that could have been drawn out over a bunch of chapters are instead done in one or several chapters. This is because I needed to get a bunch of stuff done before he became an adult to satisfy my vision of this character but recognize that you the readers probably don't want to spend 100s of chapters reading about a chibi (child) Tony Stark even though he frequently weaponizes his cuteness which is awesome.

Many evil characters in my opinion aren't evil at all. Just misunderstood morally questionable people who are handed a bad set of circumstances or raised to not know any different. Even if they are "evil" if given a choice between being part of some shady organization or something well more I think most would choose the better option.

Evil scientists are such a common trope in literature instead of them being the good guy who changes the world with the power of science. Especially marvel scientists. They are usually a special kind of evil scientist who uploads their body into a robot, takes over the world, and all the while taking joy in the suffering of others. It kind of offends my sensibilities not going to lie.

This is me ranting about one dimensional evil villains. I'm also gonna name drop Hela Odinsdottir here because she was what, sealed for 5000 years after being raised to only know how to kill shit by Odin. After being released she was all like cool let's start killing people en masse again without a second thought. It didn't seem to cross the director's mind that just maybe during those years sealed she would have had a chance to consider her own circumstances. I'm not saying she would become a saint but maybe something simple like if I become queen of Asgard it may be best not to kill off most of the Asgardians or consider how she was raised and if there was perchance a different path for her. Maybe if someone had tried to reach out to her and talk to her I don't know understand where she was coming from and her feelings she wouldn't be the all stab first ask questions later type of gal she was in the MCU movie.

My chapters are shorter than I'd like so I'll try to publish two a day. I want to make sure future me doesn't eat my own words for breakfast so I the author reserve the right to take back what I said without breaking a promise and commitment to the reader. I am not some isekai character who shouts out "that's a promise, you better believe it". I have at best questionable moral fiber and strength of character.

I've already written 160 chapters with a bunch of them being unedited so don't completely worry about me dropping this any time soon. I may rage quit publishing it if I get a bunch of negative comments but worry not, I would keep writing new chapters for me and my families eyes only as a hobby since I love this book. :)

My bipolary-ness causes me to have periods of inspiration where I write like 10-18 hours a day followed by dry spells of absolutely nothing. My psychologist and psychiatrist used some sort of fancy terminology to put a label on my "inspirational periods," the term being "manic episode". BAHHH inspiration is inspiration, who cares if it comes from bouts of hormone induced madness. Worry not though my dear readers. I made sure to wait 160 chapters before publishing so you the reader would have at least a daily dose of my nonsense for your perusal. Well at least that was my train of thought since additionally to being bipolar I also have ADHD, been clinically diagnosed with depression and have an extraordinary amount of anxiety that makes it hard to do simple things like drive a car or be in a crowd or just exist on a normal tuesday since I come down with random uncalled for bouts of anxiety a couple times a week at least. Truth is I might disappear on you all things considered but fear not! There are most likely hidden chapters in my stash so keep hope alive people. My family will also make sure that I keep publishing so you won't have to completely rely on my questionable ability to stick to a schedule. They were also the ones who convinced me to publish this book. After my last book kind of flopped due to me not editing out enough of the chatgpt vibes I rage quit publishing even though I had a fair amount of chapters that I could have still published. To all those that enjoyed it though (bless you for that) I will probably get back to it eventually in the future and either rewrite what I have or publish what i already wrote since that story deserves to see the light of day. I also wrote like a freakin' 50 page outline spanning thousands of years of the mutant Apocalypse's life so I'd rather not let all that work go to waste.

No lemons, for those unfamiliar with that vernacular I won't write sexy time in explicit detail. Sorry for all you hoping to read about some Tony Stark action with his ginormous penis (every fanfic main character has a big one). But like I previously stated my word is worth shit. In the future if I publish this on Patreon I might force myself to write some lemons to satisfy my readers' perverse and unspeakable desires (I see through your thoughts readers o.O). But for now I'm putting it on the record this fanfic is like my fists, rated E for everyone :).

As something I address in my novel, environmentalism is something important especially in Marvel. Like, the Elder Goddess Gaia summons other Elder Gods and wants to wipe out humanity. She wiped out the dinosaurs because they ran their course and then decides to wipe out humans due to them being a bunch of selfish pricks. Protecting the environment is important to me and the world at large. Like come on people I am not asking you to invent a cold fusion reactor to save the world just do your part. Don't take that to mean you have to be a vegetarian and give up driving a car because it gives off exhaust. Just do what you can, don't be lazy and recycle your stuff. So many people just throw their garbage out the car window in my neighborhood. It's freaking ridiculous. The parkboard of my city bless their souls (I'm not even religious) spend a bunch of time driving around and picking up the garbage in my part of town on a regular basis. I can also see plenty of houses that don't feel like recycling, like come on you aren't writing a thesis on thermodynamics, you're just throwing your stuff into another bin for crying out loud. If you want to pick a product to purchase, take an extra damn 30 seconds to choose one that uses recycled paper or plastic or some other ecofriendly shit. Companies are profit driven. I promise up down left and right that if enough people were like "we'll buy your shit if you're greener" the companies would think we can get these dumb normies to buy our shit just by not polluting as much. How downright diabolical, we are indeed smart. Sorry about ranting about the environment guys. I now have a platform to influence people so I thought I'd take 5 minutes to talk to you. Like I said, doing my part.

When writing my fanfic I tried to have him go to worlds in an order that makes sense to make sure he doesn't go to Star Wars in chapter 1 steal a death star and an army of clone troopers and then conquer the marvel galaxy to conquer the stars. In hindsight that would be kind of fun though. There is a logic an order to them so the worlds will be weaker in the beginning of my novel and progressively get stronger. In a real world if he randomly travels the omniverse, worlds wouldn't progress in strength they would be random but that would break the story. I do try to throw something random in every once in a while though. It's also not a perfect progression.

Tony will go to worlds, work his ass off to find cool shit and then not use it that often sometimes since it's not terribly relevant to the story. It gets characterized as a bit of omniversal kleptomania. Sorry, but that is just how it's going to be, especially down the line in the book when I'm trying to come up with worlds for him to visit. Perfect example, would it be cool to have the Allspark in Transformers? Hell ya, but when you bring it back to your own world you're not going to make it your full time job to create transformers like you wish for the ascension of the machine race. It's cool to have but less useful than you'd really think unless you need a robot army to fulfill your fetish for world domination.

Now to give you some insight into why I write how I do. I am not a big fan of overused tropes anymore like "death by truck-kun" or "he reincarnated and was granted some bullshit system with OP powers." Even the "I have been reborn with a Gacha that grants me great and awesome abilities" is overused in novels in my opinion. That is not to say I don't read all those fanfics and books voraciously like some drug addict in need of a fix. I just believe in using something a little different to reincarnate my character. I won't say I was terribly creative, I really wasn't. I just wanted to choose a less popular idea to give you my readers something fresher.

I made my own baby… I mean an OC character. I think he is awesome, amazing, cool, great and yes splendiferous. I may just be partial to him though since I created him. No, that's not right. I am definitely partial to him. So I as every irrational parent I refuse all negative commentary about him. I the author order you all to lavish him with praise in the comments come chapter 17 to make him feel welcomed to my book. You should first hear about him in chapter 12 but he first makes his official debut in chapter 17. Remember to be nice to him. Don't be racist just because he's Chinese. I know how most of you Webnovel readers feel toward Chinese characters because they are all like "You court death!" and "Do you even know who my father is?!" Yes, for those that are wondering, Luo Feng is named after the main character from Swallowed Star. No he can't blow up planets, stars and other such nonsense…. Yet just kidding. He is totally a bad ass though. Prepare to be amazed.

So dear readers, I know what you have all been wondering. Is this a harem fanfic? If that is your exact question the answer is no. He dates multiple women later on, four even but it is not a "Harem Fanfic". That would denote that it would be a harem centric novel. It does not focus on the harem at all. He just happens to date multiple people and to those who are concerned they are all women. Let me state here and now there is no incest, NTR, cheating yada yada you get the point. He has a normal wholesome relationship just with four women. They all have character progression, growth and I make sure each has a unique personality. Those things would be hard to have in a story with a large harem since they tend to create 2 dimensional characters which is why I maxed out at four.

So, what is the date of birth of many characters in my novel and why is this a potential issue? With this novel pulling from the MCU and the comics the date and age of characters are not set in stone. Also a bunch of marvel comics were created in the 70's with young super heroes, a lot of those same characters even now in 2025 are still… well young heroes. This means that I the author decide when characters are born; this in turn is mostly based on when it's convenient for the story's progression.

Now, what you the readers have all been waiting for is what the heck to expect in my novel. It is a science & technology focused novel with Tony skipping around the Omniverse. It has plenty of adventure, kingdom building and action and hopefully eventually the fanfic turns into a well done space opera. As of right now, chapter 160 the main character and his nation are already in space but, I won't tell you what chapter that exactly happens in. Just that it already did, even though it's not exactly the focus of the novel right now. Overall, in the novel the main character's focus is on science, technology and his psychic powers. Yes, there is magic but he only minors in it. It's not his focus. That doesn't mean he's bad at it, it's just not his focus or passion. I didn't want him knocking on the Ancient One's door when he needs help like every fanfiction does, only to have to come up with some silly excuse like he is too stupid to learn magic or something along those lines when he asks about learning it for the sake of curiosity. Tony Stark has the potential to be Sorcerer Supreme according to the comic book lore. Magic is a resource I personally believe people as smart as Tony will ignore. That does not mean that all of a sudden everyone is learning magic.

As a reward for everything I just had you read please enjoy the below list of books and games I came up with when doing my outline and when writing the first 160 chapters of the fanfic. It's kind of an ever growing list and the reason I'm showing it to you is in hopes that in the comments you will add your own creative ideas for worlds he could travel too. I may then steal those said ideas and incorporate them into my book due to my villainous and unscrupulous nature.
