Chapter 1 - [Chapter 1] "A day"

There are just some things that most of us can't understand. Usually, we just end up finding the answers at the end of every story, always the same old type of enlightenment. That's why I hate fairy tales. Well, let me share to you how I got over my side of the story.

—Leia—

"Hey, girl, over here!"

I turn my head towards the crowd and spots Beia waving her hands for me. I'm quite amazed on how she can shout like that with that many people in this mall. She's my best friend, but I wouldn't feel so comfortable if people would throw eyes at me. Either way, I acted like I didn't know her until I finally got to stand atleast a meter from her.

"I've been looking everywhere for you–"

I was caught off guard. Sudden deep blue eyes that seems like it's about to devour me anytime now. There was a man beside Beia.

"A friend of yours?"

Compared to his eyes, his voice is even deeper that it might just be a challenge to the Mariana Trench.

"Yes, this is Leia. She's quite the shy type, better be nice to her!"

There it is again— that same eyes that looks like it's starving. Just as I was about to introduce myself, he lend out his hand and gives off a smile. Not sure if it was geniune or not.

"Kiel, nice to meet you."

I had to think more than ten times if I was gonna shake his hand or not. I did so anyway.

"As Beia introduced me, my name is Leia."

The handshake took longer than I expected, it weirdly felt like he didn't want to let go. He only did so when Beia finally spoke and dragged us somewhere that seemed like children's playground. She's always the childish type—compared to the over-matured me.

I just sat on the side bench since I'm not fond with playing child's games. Next to me was Kiel who was just sitting and staring at the sky. He looked oddly breathtaking, not gonna lie. Especially with his dark hair standing out in this bright day.

"How long are you gonna stare?"

Well, that startled me. I didn't think that he noticed me or even cared.

"Sorry, did I make you uncomfortable?"

"No, you can continue staring."

That definitely sounded like something a player would say. Without care to the world, I laughed accidentally. I thought he'd be mad, but instead, also bursted out laughing. Time passed and I just realized how long we've been talking. He also mentioned that he was Beia's brother, something I wouldn't have expected. Well, I guessed, since Beia have never been comfortable around guys.

"Guys, I'm back!"

It was the first time that I wasn't very happy hearing Beia's voice. Maybe because I didn't want to stop talking with him yet.

We went to the station and I said my goodbyes to them.

"See you at school, Leia!"

"You too."

Well, I did say my goodbye to Beia but I was too nervous to say anything to him so I just looked at him, nodded, and went off without another word.

I sat on my usual seat in the bus, right beside the window where I can stare and start traveling around my thoughts again. As expected, I thought of him. He wasn't that friendly nor the shy type. He wasn't that bad either. He was fun to talk to. He–

*BANG*

That startled me. It was the same usual old man that always bangs his bag below his seat. Just as I was about to go back to my thoughts, I had realized that all I was thinking about was him. Not that I hated it, but I shouldn't have done so. I've had this already, and I don't want to repeat the same mistake.

This.. should just be another usual day for me.
