Chapter 1 - The dream

The place was black. Not black in color or dark or covered in shadows. No. It was blank black, with no corners nor beginning nor end.

Short black hair, with a stubble beard with some gray hairs, Poddrey, found himself laying on the ground. Barefoot, in his sleeping clothes. He picked himself up and he saw 5 people hanging by the neck including himself.

They were screaming for help none stop.

It was a haunting sight.

Music could be heard in the background but Poddrey could not point out where it was coming from.

Infront of them was a child who seemed to be in his 10th year. He was playing with bricks and was building a tower with the bricks he had.

The child did not seem to notice the cries of the people behind him. That confused Poddrey.

Poddrey tried to get closer to the people who were hanged, but their faces were blurry. Except for his. He tried to help himself, or what seemed to be him but couldn't. His hand was going through the person who looked like him. He got goosebumps for a moment. He took his hand back and looked back at his shoulder.

The child had just finished building his tower.

The child's face was also blurry.

Poddrey walked to him to see what he was doing.

The child tried to balance on his tower. For a moment he succeeded. But that was for a moment.

The voices went silent.

Poddrey looked back again to see the people all quiet. What is happening? He thought and then all of a sudden the screams came back and were loud.

Too loud.

Poddrey woke up next to his wife, drenched in sweat, he was breathing heavily which woke up his wife, Lusidal.

"Are you okay?" Lusidal asked.

"Yes. It is just one of those nights again Lusi." He answered. "It's the same dream as the one i've been having for a—" Poddrey was cut off.

"Podd," The green eyed woman looked him in the eye. "Im starting to get worried about your health."

Poddrey fell quiet.

"You keep waking up like this. Like you're going through a heart attack. I fear that one day i'm gonna lose you because you keep having these dreams."

Poddrey looked at the gray hairs Lusidal had in the right side. Then took his eyes off them.

"Poddrey. I'm scared to lose you the way you lost you're father. Yahweium knows where he is now." Lusidal said. "Please Poddrey, im begging you, please get the help you need. I will help—" Lusidal was cut off by Poddrey's deep breath.

"Please Lusidal, please stop talking."

"Please let me get you the help you need!"

Poddrey took a deep breath again.

"Please let me—"

"STOP TALKING!" Poddrey shouted. It was unusual for Poddrey to raise his voice. He was known to be calm. But this time it was different.

Lusidal fell silent.

Poddrey got up from his bed, wore his sandles and slammed the door on his way out.

Lusidal sighed.
