Nicolas had been on edge since they last saw Kiona, they swore that evil shadows have haunted them starting from when the entire ball fiasco happened. Then, the unimaginable happened.. The academy had begun to become consumed by the corruption of Eris, the Shadow Queen.. Nicolas, Kiona and Sabian were the only three to escape alive.. "We need to take action now.." Declared Prince Nicolas. "Are you insane?! We just need to sacrifice you to that thing and it will leave us alone, you're better off dead anyway.." Sabian protested. "No, we're not doing that, we have to fight and we shall fight with Nicolas, not against them.." Kiona defended. "Why are you still on his side?! Weren't YOU betrayed too?!" Sabian argued, lightning suddenly flaring from his fingers. "Sabian.." Nicolas said softly. He looked down and saw his magic acting up. "Ah! N-No.." He stammered. "You.. You can't control your powers.. can you?" Nicolas asked. There was hesitation before he shook his head slowly. "It's okay, I struggle with my magic sometimes too.." Kiona comforted. "We're going to need to work together despite our differences, alright?" Nicolas ordered. "I'm all in." Kiona said. "Sabian? Please.." They asked, extending their hand. He reluctantly took it, saying, "Okay, okay, fine, I'll join y'all but this does NOT mean I feel like I can trust you again." Nicolas smirked. "So.. What's the plan?" Kiona asked. "On Mount Serenity, at the core of Lystera, is a battlefield, I'm sure that's where Queen Eris's target is, there, we make our stand and defeat Eris and the Darklings to save our realm." They answered, "It would take a couple weeks to reach the top though.." Sabian and Kiona nodded. "Are you ready for this?" Kiona asked. "I was born ready." Sabian claimed. "Ready as I'll ever be."
