Somewhere in the snow,
It was snow season, looks like the snowfall is stopped just some time back. All the roads and nearby areas seems to be sleeping under the blankets of ice. The rooftops of houses are flooded with the ice. some choppers are flying over the mountains while trying to rescue the people who are stuck in this natural disaster. People are worried about their loved ones and afraid too that that they will survivor or not.
In this drastic situation some 3 to 4 youngsters of nearly 20 to 25 years were smoking cigarettes and looking at the helpless people who are stuck in the snow without any concern; as if they don't care if the people dies or survives maybe they have become the stone hearted or cold hearted because when they needed help no one may haven't showed up to help them or they might have survived from some close ones betrayal or they probably have seen someone of their loved one dying in front of their eyes which lead them to become such harsh and cold hearted as of they are now! Who knows?
As we all know, no one is demon by birth but the life and people force them to be the Lucifer.
So, those nasty henchmen kind of guys were smoking to avoid cold in the snow they were standing by the river, one of them wearing a black jacket with a wool in its hood of jacket throw off the cigarette, kept his hands in the side pockets of jacket and just put eyes away from the shore of river he saw something was floating in the river and as the flow of river was towards them so that thing was coming closer to them.
He told his friends,"Hey, guys look at there something is floating in the river."
"Where? Oh mark that is not a thing it is a human being." David said.
"Human, really! Are you sure?" Steven looked at the river in the hurry.
"hey look at that, looks like it's a girl and she is fainted." Mark said.
As these three were looking at the person flowing in the river one of them who was wearing a skin colored fur coat was still smoking his cigarette as if, he was not there and he can't listen to any of their words.
Mark turned to him and called him," Daniel hey Daniel." But he didn't even blinked his eyes, he was in his own world.
"Daniel what are you thinking?" Mark shouted, and Daniel's reverie breaks.
He just replies," Huh" and looks at Mark with his anguish eyes, and continues smoking.
Mark scares for a moment and continues," Daniel we saw a girl floating in the river. I think she was drowning but heavy flow of water leads her to here."
"So, what?" Daniel asked.
"I think we should help her. We can save her life." Mark said
"No! I am not interested in saving someone's life, and better way I would suggest you all don't dive in such river in attempt to save someone whom you don't even know. Don't put your life to risk. If that girl is dying in such a beautiful atmosphere then let her go." Daniel said.
"Look Daniel, you know that we cannot save her without your help." Mark said.
"Do whatever you want but don't count me in with you." Daniel refused to help.
"Okay then I had decided not to go through that path but looks like you haven't left me with any other option." Mark said.
"What do you mean?" Daniel looked at mark.
Mark took a deep breath, and said," You are swearing to Mary aunty, you are coming to help us to save that girl." Mark said.
"Fine! Let's go." And they both came to the David and Steven.
"Daniel, what do you think how we can save her and pull her out of water?" David asked as he saw Daniel standing by his side.
"Let me think." Daniel looked at that girl coming towards them and puts glance in the nearby things.
Daniel takes a deep breath and says, "With this flow of water to dive in the river will be suicide as force of water will lead us smash our heads on river rocks so we have to get the girl out of river without diving in the water. So we have to do this in another way. Do one thing, guys remove our jackets and shirts and tie them to each other to make a rope then mark you, and you will tie one end of the rope to the rock on one side of the river. I will go and tie the other end to the rock of the other side of the river. David and Steven both of you find a long stick or log and put it horizontally on the river as it will cover both sides. And make sure that it will be kept away from the river rocks so that it can help us to inhibit that girl to be smashed on rock. I will climb the tied the rope upside down and when the girl will come close I will pick her up."
"What are you saying remove clothes! that too in front of an unknown girl. Sorry we are not doing this it's too freezing cold." Steven said.
"Okay then, do whatever you can do and remember she is unconscious, she won't be seeing you and what about cold weather what is the worth of your those biceps and in-shape physique if you guys can't even endure such cold? Then decide you want to save her or not or else let her die. Please be quick" Daniel said.
"Let's save her." Mark. Daniel had a smirk on his face.
All of them removed their clothes (only the clothes on their upper body). Mark tied their clothes to each other as they become a long strong rope. Daniel took one end of the rope in his hand and jumped onto the river rock picked up a river vine and crossed the river then tied the rope to the trunk of the tree. On the other hand Mark tied the other end of the rope to the rock beside of the river. While Steven and David were cutting a log of a tree with an axe used to kill animals as prey. They cut the log and kept it horizontally on the river just under where the rope was tied. Daniel climbed the rope upside down and stopped just above the log. Meanwhile, that girl was about to reach the log and her head might have smashed on the rock, but Daniel made it in time and picked her up, and tied her to himself with the vine he picked from river while crossing the river.
Then Daniel climbed back to the shore and jumped off the clothes rope. Untied the girl and lie her down. Untied the clothes too, took his fur felt coat took off that girl's red jacket and covered that girl with his coat in order to make her feel warm then he picked her in his arms and went toward his friends. They were wearing their clothes.
"Let's go." Daniel said and started walking. All of them remained stunned as it was first time that someone like Daniel was taking caring of someone and even rescued from death beside from Aunt Mary. As Mary aunty was godly figure for them.
All of them walked for a while and then they reached at a tree where three black and one white horses were tied. They rode each of the horse. Daniel laid that girl on the back of the horse and he too rode the horse and they all went off to the village and place behind was left with dense mist.
As they entered the village every villager was turning their heads towards these boys because for the first time they were seeing that these boys had a girl with them and that too in a bad condition but none of them cared about anyone's opinion or what someone will think about them. They just kept moving.
Daniel's horse was leading the remaining four and they were following him with barely matching his speed. Daniel stopped near a house which was made completely from wood, it had a five steps staircase, a passage or balcony, square shaped four compartmental glass windows, chimney on the roof from where the smoke was coming out, a circular glass window just below the roof.
They all left the horses in their carriage gave them grass, Daniel held that girl again in his arms and they stand in front of the door,
"Mary aunty," Mark shouted.
A lady with white hairs, wrinkled face, wearing a navy colored long one piece was sitting in her rocking chair and was in deep thinking looked at them and rushed towards them,
"Where have you all been so long? I was so worried."Mary aunty said.
She looked at girl in Daniel's hand and asked impatiently and in worried and slightly angry voice," who is this?"
"Aunty, she was drowning in the river we saved her." Daniel replied in cold voice and started walking and kept that girl on a single bed in that room.
Mary aunty was delighted as her nearly demon "sons" had saved someone.
Mary aunty said to the boys to leave the girl to her and stay outside the house. So boys were leaving the house but Mary aunty stopped the Daniel and asked him to lay down the girl near the bonfire. So Daniel picked the girl from bed and laid her down on the carpet near the bonfire and left the home.
Mary aunty checked the girl's temperature by touching her neck and also her nerves were slowed down. Aunty kept that girl by changing her wet clothes with her passed away granddaughter's clothes, rubbing her palms and foots, covering her with the blanket for the whole night Mary aunty treated her and boys were sat outside the house in the worries especially Daniel was more restless.
With the first sun ray Mary aunty opened the door of the house, "what happened, how is she?" Mark asked eagerly.
"She is fine now; it seems she has caught pneumonia due to wetness, for now fever is cured and she is out of danger now, she will soon get back to her consciousness." Mary aunty cleared their curiosity and they were relived.
All the boys asked Mary aunty and went into home to see that girl and she got conscious as she saw them she yelled, "Who are you? Where am I?"
