Ruby froze. The boy standing in front of the class was the same man she had kicked out of the restaurant just a few nights ago. His eyes met hers, and a sly, confident smile formed on his lips.
The principal spoke. "Please introduce yourself."
The boy replied smoothly,
"My name is Kai Fergus. Son of Alex Fergus, the owner of this school-and its future heir."
A wave of gasps swept through the room.
"Oh my God, he's gorgeous!"
"He's the heir to this elite school?"
"I wish I could be his girlfriend..."
Kai pointed at Ruby. "Can I sit next to that girl?" he asked the teacher.
The teacher nodded. Ruby forced herself to stay calm.
If he tells everyone I work at a restaurant, I'm finished. I need to keep it together. First, I'll apologize. Then tomorrow, I'll ask to change my seat.
After class ended, Ruby found a folded note on her desk:
> "I know your secret. If you don't want the others to find out, come to the school office."
"I'm the man you kicked out of the restaurant for no reason."
Her hands shook as she read it. She knew exactly who had written it. Heart pounding, she made her way to the office.
Inside, Kai was already there, lounging in a chair with a smug expression.
"I know everything about you," he said mockingly. "You're not rich. You're nothing but an ant to me. And yet, you dared to throw me out of that place without even knowing who I was?"
Ruby's face flushed with embarrassment. "I... I'm sorry-"
Kai interrupted.
"I don't need your apology. But if you want me to keep your secret, I have one condition."
Her stomach dropped. "What condition...?"
Kai leaned in with a devilish grin.
"From today onward, you're going to be my personal servant."
