The terror that slashed through my chest was unlike anything I'd felt in my centuries of existence. My pulse thundered in my ears as I frantically searched for Seraphina, following her scent through town like a madman.
The abandoned wheelchair in the town square only amplified my panic. Of course she would pursue the kidnapper on foot, the stubborn, reckless woman. My claws had already extended, my Lycan side snarling beneath the surface of my control.
Regina and the guards were searching elsewhere. My senses led me to this decrepit house at the edge of town, its rotting framework barely standing against the wind.
"SERAPHINA!" I roared, tearing through the front door.
