I didn't need to hear any more of that woman's pathetic accusations. I'd heard enough nonsense already—this creature had tried to murder her brother, imprisoned her parents in the Dark Realm, and supposedly cast a spell over me. All absurd lies, yet I still hesitated to intervene.
The crowd of lycans surrounding us watched with bated breath, their eyes darting between me and the woman who dared to challenge my decision. Part of me admired her courage, foolish as it was. Few would risk defying their king so openly.
"You need proof?" the woman cried, desperation in her voice. "I'll show you proof!"
Before anyone could stop her, she lunged forward, her hand reaching toward the creature's neck.
It was a blur of motion—her quick movement, the creature's feeble attempt to retreat, and the flash of silver as something broke free.
"Look! This is what binds you to her!"
