Chapter 1 - prolog

sun has risen, shining the world with its warm light. Athena, who has been awake for a long time, is now sitting on the balcony of her room, watching the gardeners who are now tasked with watering the plants.

"Good morning little lady, today's breakfast is salak fruit and apple juice."

Athena turned her gaze to a maid named Helena who was now carrying a food trolley.

"Just put it there," Athena pointed to the table next to her.

Helena immediately put Athena's breakfast down and then excused herself from her young lady's room.

Athena is still daydreaming, staring out the window. If you ask why Athena isn't going to school, it's because today is Sunday, that's why Athena can sit quietly and relax in the morning.

Tired of daydreaming, Athena finally chose to eat the food beside her, but when she was about to put a bite into her mouth____

Brak!

someone broke down his bedroom door loudly.

"Mom?" Athena asked when Clara entered her room.

"What's wrong, ma'am?" Athena asked, confused, when Clara approached her with a disappointed face and wet with tears.

"Athena, now pack your things, I will wait for you downstairs. We will leave here." After saying that firmly, Clara immediately left, ignoring Athena who was still confused.

"What does he mean?" Athena thought. Even though she was confused by her mother's behavior, Athena still did what her mother ordered. Athena had packed her things and now she was in the garage, her mother was still standing outside the car waiting for her.

"Mom, what actually happened? Why did we leave the house, Mom? And why didn't we invite Dad?" Athena asked in succession when they had already left the house.

Clara glanced at Athena from the rearview mirror, before answering her little daughter's question, Clara took a deep breath and then said. "Your father and I are divorced, your custody is in my hands so I decided to leave there with you. Don't worry honey, mom still has a house quite far from here. Regarding your school, mom will move you to one that is closer to our new house. Mom hopes you can accept it, honey," Clara explained carefully, when she glanced at Athena again, Clara could see Athena's shocked and disappointed.

"S-so mom and dad are getting divorced__why? I still need dad mom" Athena's feelings were now mixed up, Athena didn't lie if her heart was broken hearing that her parents had chosen to separate. It was true that her parents' relationship wasn't good, but Athena also didn't lie if she still loved her father.

"Mom knows, but__there's no way anymore. Mom and Dad are probably not meant to be together, no need to worry___your dad can still visit you even though we're no longer in a relationship" Clara knew her daughter's disappointment, but that was all Clara could do, rather than enduring the family rift, it was better to end it all and start over.

The car Clara and Athena were driving finally stopped. They both got out in front of a 2-story house with a fairly spacious yard decorated with a small flower garden. It was beautiful even though it wasn't as big as her father's house. "Is this the house we're going to live in, Mom?" Athena asked, but her eyes were still fixed on the house they were going to live in now.

"Yes, this is the house we will live in, okay, stop looking and take these things inside," said Clara while carrying a suitcase.

"Okay," Athena replied, then took the two remaining suitcases in the trunk.

Athena had already put her things upstairs, and her room was now much smaller than her old one. However, it was still more comfortable. Her room was located at the end of the room, near the back garden window.

It was now 7:56 am, time for dinner, Athena was hungry because she hadn't eaten since noon because she was busy tidying up the house and arranging things.

Athena finally decided to go downstairs, her steps were slow until she finally arrived in the dining room. there was Clara who was busy arranging food that was probably already cooked.

"Mom, I'm hungry. It's dinner time. Is the food cooked?" she asked while rubbing her stomach.

"Come here and eat. Mom was going to call you but you came down first." Clara sat at the dining table, followed by Athena who also sat facing her mother.

Athena's eyes sparkled when the rib soup was on the dining table, Athena was very happy because finally her mother cooked her favorite food.

Wow, mom, you know that I want to eat rib soup." Hearing her child's words, Clara just smiled, but her smile was gentle and sincere.

They finally ate, Athena enjoyed her rib soup deliciously while Clara ate but occasionally stole glances at Athena. "Athena," Clara said at the end.

"What's wrong, ma'am?" Athena answered, confused.

Clara paused for a moment, catching her breath, and then said, "I'm sorry, because of you, I had to separate from Dad. You had to live alone with me. I really didn't have a choice at the time. Mom and Dad had different opinions, maybe Mom and Dad were just a couple who were just passing through," Clara said with tears in her eyes.

Athena sat down beside her mother, her hand quickly stroking her mother's back, trying to calm her down. Athena realized that this wasn't entirely her mother's fault, even though she was also hurt when she learned of her parents' separation, but this wasn't the time to dwell on the bitter reality, time was ticking. Athena had to move on, and now she had a plan to reunite her parents.

"it's okay, it's not your fault, Mom. I'm sorry too for blaming you earlier,"

Clara wiped her tears with both hands, hugging her child with emotion.

In the end, something that feels heavy will become light if it is carried together, and the same goes for reality, which can be accepted with an open heart, no matter how heavy it is.
