Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Claiming My Enemy

Luca's POV.

The doors of the dungeon were unlocked, I fixed my gaze at the entrance, curios to see who it was.

"The Queen has declared your release," the guard said, his hands fixing the phone to his ears.

"Is this a cruel joke? She threatened to kill my second in command if I set foot out of here and now you say she has declared my release?" I interrogated, unable to believe it.

"Yes, it's her order." The guard repeated.

I felt a strange sense of relief course through my veins, "Can I use your phone?" I asked, wanting to be sure that nothing had happened to Mario.

The guard handed me his phone without uttering a word.

Knowing Mario's number by heart, I dialed his phone.

The call got connected, "Mario? You good?" I asked, my voice etched with concern as I stared at the guard whose gaze was not in my direction.

"Yes Sir Luca, I'm good." Hearing his voice, I felt relieved.

"Find your way to Daviere Park in the next ten minutes," I instructed before hanging up the call.

I rose up from the chair, handing the phone to the guard as I walked out of the dungeon.

I had never thought I'd ever walk out of here but here I was, walking out.

But I still needed answers as to why I was released. She had no right to keep me hostage and release me whenever she wanted.

Until now, she had played her game just the way it pleased her.

Now? It was my time to teach her a lesson.

As I rolled the sleeves of my brown shirt, I noticee the scar from one of the numerous wounds she has inflicted on me.

"I'll make you pay for every injury you've inflicted on me." I gritted out as I walked out of the mansion.

I strolled down the street, the brightness of the clouds making me squint my eyes as I walked. She kept me in darkness for so long that my eyes were now reacting to the brightness of day.

Seconds ticked into minutes and I soon arrived at the park, the green grass spread across the area with only a few people spotted in the park.

A silver vehicle soon arrived at the park, Mario stepped out, rushing towards me.

"Lord, where have you been?" He asked, his gaze examining my clothes.

"I need you to take me to Velmora right now." I said, ignoring his question as I walked towards the vehicle.

"Yes, Lord." He replied.

We both plopped into the car and I prepared for the journey. I changed into the familiar sleek clothes I was used to.

As we arrived at Velmora, I filled my gun with bullets.

Aria was going to be the first woman I'd murder today and honestly? She deserved it.

No one had dared humiliate me like she did, and I had to make sure she was the last person who did it.

We kept moving around the city until I came across some of Aria's men standing outside a warehouse.

"Stop here, Mario." I ordered and the car came to a halt in front of them.

I surveyed the area, in search of Aria but she was nowhere in sight.

I folded a hand into a small fist, resting my chin on it, "This is a warehouse. There should be two exits, take us around the building."

Mario did as he was told and I got into the warehouse through the large brown gate at the back.

I stormed into the warehouse, carefully removing the boxes out of the way in order not to disclose my entrance.

Aria was still not in sight, I drove a hand into my hair frustrated by the futile search.

As I turned to the left, I started hearing gunshots. I protected myself while moving closer.

My hands trembled when I saw Aria being held captive by a man clad in black.

"Is he trying to kill her?" I mumbled to no one in particular as I watched the scene from my hiding spot.

"You must really think you're smart, don't you?" I heard the man say.

"I regret knowing you as my father, screw you!" Aria cursed as she hit the man's chest severally.

Why was Aria hitting her father in such manner? My brows pulled together in slight irritation as I continued watching.

"Yes yes, curse me all you want but I'll also make you regret going against me," And with that, the man raised a pistol in front of her.

My jaws clenched, if he was her father why was he killing her?

Aria can't die.

Not until I was done with her.

Without thinking, I shot the man, the sound of the gunshots echoing through the building.

Aria gasped as the man released a bullet into her arm collapsing. I came out of my hiding place, putting more bullets into the man's body.

Aria fell to her knees, holding her arm as she winced in pain.

I picked her up, her eyes closing as tears spewed out.

"You're usually acting so tough, but you can't take a bullet?" I mocked, tightening my grip on her body as she bled.

"Why are you here?" She asked, ignoring my question.

"Why was I suddenly released?" I replied back with a question.

Her frown grew tighter as she tried to speak, her face slowly turning pale, "You were the wrong culprit. So I released you after finding the real killer."

I breathed a laugh, "Bold of you to think you can just release me after keeping me hostage with heavy dose of torture."

"So..so what do you want? Want to kill me too?" She gritted out, struggling to keep breathing.

"No. I'm going to make you mine," I declared, my voice barely above a whisper.

Her eyes reddened with something I had never seen in her eyes–fear.

And that excited me more than anything.
