Damian Gallagher's eyes turned cold as ice as he surveyed the scene before him. His sister Alice sat in her wheelchair, hands trembling slightly on the armrests. He'd promised to protect her tonight, to make sure nothing upset her delicate condition. Yet here they were, thrust into the center of a spectacle.
"Brother, please," Alice whispered, reaching for his hand. "That woman—Lyra Moreau—we need to speak with her privately."
Damian squeezed her frail fingers reassuringly. "Don't worry," he murmured. "I'll handle this."
His attention shifted as Orla Moreau dramatically clutched her wrist, leaning against Jasper Covington for support. Tears streamed down her perfectly made-up face, her expression twisted with apparent pain.
"It hurts so much," Orla whimpered. "She pushed me deliberately, Jasper. You saw it."
