She stood there with a shocked expression, her eyebrows furrowing her forehead, her teeth trembling. She didn't know what to do.
"What is the meaning of this?" she said, her voice shaking.
The world she knew felt like a fading dream she could never see again.
Everything had disappeared, leaving only the vast emptiness of the earth.
Only the tree she had fallen from remained.
She sat down and hugged her legs, wondering what she should do next.
Sweat ran down her face to her chin, her heart pounding rapidly.
No one was around, and not a single sound could be heard.
"Is this what I wished for last night?" she whispered to herself.
Days passed, yet she didn't move or eat anything for three days.
Then, she saw a huge shadow moving across the sky,
resembling an eagle.
"Is that a ship?" Her voice echoed in her ears as the wind blew dust across her view.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw a group of people in black suits.
Each of them wore a space mask and had a sword strapped to their back.
They pointed their swords at her, surrounding her in a circle—there were five of them in total.
She couldn't think clearly in her panic.
"What is happening? Are they even human?" she whispered, ducking and shouting in fear.
I don't know what to do. If I had just stayed at home, maybe none of this would have happened.
One of them lowered his sword, crouched down, and looked at her. Then he pressed something on his mask, and it opened to reveal a young man with brown hair and sharp eyes.
"Hey, listen to me," he said. "We have no intention of hurting you. We're the same species… I think."
She didn't understand what he meant by "species." It sounded as if they might not even be human like her.
She couldn't answer him; her mind was clouded by hunger and exhaustion, driving her close to madness.
"Um, guys, I think we should help her," he said to his companions.
They nodded, and one of them stepped forward. In the blink of an eye, he injected something into her neck.
After that, she lost consciousness, and they carried her onto their ship.
