Irwan asked Nadia to step back a bit. He grabbed the doorknob and opened it. It turned out that the person behind the door was Vincent.
"Hmm, what are you two doing in one room?" Vincent asked with a smile.
"Why are you at Nadia's room?" Irwan asked.
"I just wanted to talk to Nadia. Is that alright?" Vincent asked.
"Can't it wait until tomorrow?" Irwan replied.
"Ah, you're right. Alright, tomorrow then. Oh, since this house is borrowed and has CCTV cameras inside, I ask that you don't do anything inappropriate, okay?" Vincent said.
"Huh... how could we? Don't just say things like that. Besides, are we being watched?" Irwan asked.
"Ah, no, nowadays CCTV is for safety, right? Alright, I'll go down now," Vincent replied, walking down and raising his hand.
Irwan closed the door. His eyes immediately darted to the corners of the room. It turned out Vincent was right; a CCTV unit was installed right in the right corner of the living area inside the room.
"Um... Irwan, sorry, but can you just stay here? I'm scared," Nadia said.
Irwan was silent, staring at the CCTV, which clearly seemed to be recording them from the corner of the room.
"Okay, I'll sleep on the sofa, you on the bed," Irwan said, annoyed.
"Yeah, thanks, Wan," Nadia replied.
"That Vincent, is he really 15 years old?" Irwan asked.
"I don't know, he's weird," Nadia replied.
"Besides, why did he come here? Maybe he saw me here through the CCTV?" Irwan wondered.
"Could be. He wasn't surprised to see you here, that's for sure," Nadia replied.
"Whatever, don't think about it. Go to sleep. We'll continue tomorrow morning," Irwan said, taking a position on the sofa.
"Y-yeah, leave the light on, okay?" Nadia replied.
"Yeah, I'm already used to streetlights coming in," Irwan said.
"Thanks, Wan," Nadia said.
Both lay down in their respective places. Irwan stared at the ceiling. He began to doubt his decision to end his life in a strange, mysterious place. A moment later, "uhh... uuu... Mama," Irwan sat up again. He turned to look at Nadia sleeping on the bed; he heard Nadia moaning in her sleep. Irwan got off the sofa. He walked closer to the bed. He saw Nadia curled up on her bed as if cold, her body trembling and sweating profusely, tears streaming down her face, and her face showing suffering from pain.
"Sh-she's going through withdrawal," Irwan thought to himself.
Irwan sat on the edge of the bed. Suddenly, Nadia turned over and gripped his wrist. Irwan, understanding Nadia's suffering, remained silent. He leaned back and let Nadia hug his arm because Nadia seemed a little calmer after he sat on the side of the bed. Irwan reached into his pocket. He took out the syringe containing the yellow liquid that Vincent had given him before they left.
"Soon, we'll be free, Nad," he thought to himself, raising the syringe and staring at it.
Seeing that Nadia was somewhat calmer and her grip on him had loosened, Irwan gently released Nadia's hand. Then he got off the bed, trying not to wake Nadia. He walked back to the kitchen window to look at the children playing soccer, as their voices could be heard from Nadia's room. Irwan smiled, seeing the cheerful children playing, but then he saw a child in an elementary school uniform, sitting absorbed with his back to him, watching the field.
"That child isn't playing," Irwan thought to himself.
Irwan observed the child sitting on the edge of the field, but gradually, he realized something and immediately backed away from the window.
"Huh... was that a mistake? No way?"
Irwan moved forward again to confirm. Suddenly, his body trembled, and he immediately squatted in front of the window, covering his mouth.
"W-what? That child... doesn't have a head?" Irwan thought to himself.
After calming down a bit, to make sure, Irwan slowly stood up again and peeked out the window.
"Baaaa... do you want to play, big brother?"
"G-g-g-ghost," Irwan stammered.
It turned out the head of the elementary school child he saw was right behind the window glass and was staring at him. Behind him, the other children waited on the field, looking towards the window where Irwan was peeking. The child's head was tilted, staring at Irwan with eyes that had red circles in their pupils. Irwan could see a bit of the child's innards attached below his neck.
"Alright then, if big brother doesn't want to play," the child said.
The child's head flew back. Irwan, rigid and unable to move, saw that the other children were looking at him from the distant field next door. After the head returned, they continued playing soccer, and it turned out that head was their ball. "Brugh," Irwan, pale, covered in cold sweat, all his fine hairs standing on end, and feeling his head become very large and heavy, fell to the floor, unable to move at all.
"C-crazy, w-what was th-that... a... kuyang?" Irwan thought to himself.
"Wan, what's wrong?" Nadia asked, standing and looking down at Irwan beside her.
Irwan slowly turned to look at Nadia, who looked disheveled from just waking up. Irwan's hand pulled Nadia's hand, making Nadia sit beside him.
"You're trembling like this... what did you see?" Nadia asked, holding Irwan's hand.
"Th-those children... playing soccer with their friend's head... H-horrible. S-sorry, Nad, I can't move," Irwan replied with a deathly pale face.
"Are you serious?" Nadia asked.
"H-how could I lie?" Irwan replied.
Nadia, curious, immediately crawled towards the window in front, but Irwan held her hand, and when Nadia turned, Irwan shook his head.
"We have to get out of here, Nad," Irwan said.
"O-okay," Nadia said.
Irwan gathered his courage and tried to force his body to move. He crawled out from under the kitchen table, but when he looked back, he saw Nadia kneeling in front of the window and peeking out. Nadia was trembling, her eyes wide, and her mouth agape, shaking violently. "Crrrs," water flowed between Nadia's legs out of sheer terror. Irwan immediately turned towards the window. He instantly paled because what was behind the window wasn't just one head, but five heads of elementary school children playing soccer, staring at Nadia and smiling. Irwan immediately crawled and grabbed Nadia. He pulled Nadia to the floor and hugged her underneath him.
"Gh-gh-gh-gh..."
"I know, Nadia. Close your eyes, Naiad. Hug me," Irwan said, his back to the window, eyes closed, hugging Nadia underneath him.
With trembling hands, Nadia hugged Irwan tightly. Both remained silent, hugging each other by the wall right under the window, not daring to move or open their eyes. Meanwhile, they could hear the elementary school children's joking conversation right above them, behind the window.
