Chapter 1 - Awakening in the flames

Chapter 1: Awakening in the Flames

The world was burning.

Kael gasped as his lungs filled with smoke and pain. His body felt foreign—too heavy, too hot—like it was being torn apart from the inside. He thrashed, coughing violently, his vision blurry as flickers of firelight danced across broken walls and shattered stone.

Screams echoed in the distance. The stench of blood clung to the air.

"Where… am I?" Kael muttered hoarsely.

His last memory was death—a holy blade piercing his chest, divine fire devouring his soul. Executed like a monster. Feared for a bloodline he couldn't control.

A bloodline he didn't know he has until he awakened it on the day of awakening.

The day every human awaken their ability that is solely unique to them, but other races also awaken their bloodline if it wasn't awakened from birth before most likely because the body can't handle the strain of the power.

Him, an orphan who nothing was expected from defied their expectations, but not in the way he would have wanted

He shook his head, he should be dead, killed by the holy sword both in body and soul but

But this… this wasn't death.

His heart pounded as unfamiliar memories surged into his mind—memories that weren't his.

A boy. A different life. Three unstable bloodlines. A village under siege. An ambush.

This wasn't just the memory of some boy that was in his head, he felt like he was the one, he didn't just get here with the memories in him he felt the emotions of the boy, the the shock, the dread, the fury, the anger of the boy when his village was attacked.

They both died but also both awakened the same ability, he can sense it in him the ability he also awakened, the Adaptability ability

Though the ability was quite high ranked he wasn't even able to explore or know it's use before he was out on a trial that was sure to resort in death.

He didn't know what happened when he died all he know was he was being pulled by something then he merged with the soul of the body he is now possessing, though the soul merged there was a problem, two wills can't be contained in the same soul and body.

Oy one must live to own the body and the one with the strongest will survived which was him, his soul was burning with the will to live, he was an orphan who had to steal to even eat once a day and when he awakened and thought his life will change he was killed.

He didn't care about their reason but they must pay.

Though his will was the one that won the others emotion was transferred to him with the soul, he felt the emotion like the other does and before the then body owner's will died.

He begged him to promise him something and he very well plan to fulfill the promise.

Looking into the memory to remember his name in this world.

One name etched deep in the dying soul he now inhabited:

Kael.

It was still his name. But this was no longer his world.

> [Genesis Soul Core Integration: Complete.]

> [Soul Fusion: 97% Stabilized.]

> [System Awakening Initiated…]

A calm, ancient voice echoed within him, smooth and emotionless.

> [Genesis Ascension System Activated.]

> [SSS Adaptability Talent: Detected in both souls]

>[Commence Talent merging: merged successfully]

>[Host's Talent: Transcendent Adaptability trait]

> [Bloodline Cocoon Detected: Demon (Active), Angel (Sealed), Dragon (Sealed), Vampire (Slightly active).]

> [Status: Critical. Host is under attack.]

>[Alert: the host can handle the bloodline awakening in his body]

>[Genesis soul core trying to suppress the bloodline]

>[Host's bloodlines successfully suppressed, suppression will be realesed as the host get stronger]

Kael's breath hitched. The words didn't make sense—yet somehow, they felt natural. True.

Like he always have those things in him but just wasn't awakened.

So the Genesis soul core was the pull I felt that merged me with kael, but what really is the gene...

A deafening roar pulled him back to the present.

A monstrous figure stood over him, cloaked in black armor and dripping with gore. Its eyes glowed amber beneath a twisted horned helmet. A jagged blade of black flame rose in its clawed hand.

"Another rat survived?" it growled. "No matter. You'll burn like the rest."

Kael didn't think. He moved.

He rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the descending sword that split the ground open with a deafening crash. His hand found a broken spear shard beside a corpse. He gripped it tight.

The monster turned—but Kael was already there.

He didn't know how to fight. He didn't have a style. He had something better.

He adapted.

His adaptability talent was showing it's prowess, the style the monster has used before, he adapted to it, his sword swings, stabs he adapted to it all mergiyit with his own essence.

This talent is really powerful he thought not knowing what he was using was just the tip.of the iceberg.

Kael ducked low, then leapt up and slammed the spear shard into the gap between the creature's neck and chestplate.

The beast snarled—then choked—dark blood spurting from its throat.

> [Demon Bloodline Cocoon: Phase One Activated.]

> [Instinctual Combat Boost: +35%]

> [System Note: Host has entered Reactive Awakening State.]

Kael felt it. A surge of power unlike anything before. His vision sharpened. His muscles pulsed. His mind cleared.

The demon in his blood whispered—**kill or be killed.**

His mind basically whispering the law of the jungle right into his brain" survival of the fittest"

And to avoid what happened to him both in his past life and this life he will be the....No he must be the fittest

He has the faith, with the bloodline and talent he has he will be the...

He grabbed the dying creature's own blade as it fell and turned—just in time to see two more charging through the flames.

And for the first time since his second birth…

Kael grinned.

"Come, then," he said coldly. "Let's see who really deserves to survive."
