Chapter 2 - #2Chapter 2 Luck is also a kind of strength

On the 20th, in the Anbu changing room.

Having just finished their daily Konoha Village patrols, everyone was unlacing their Anbu vests in front of their lockers.

Night Light's breathing was weaker than usual, afraid of being called out by the Squad Leader.

Can you imagine how terrifying it is to be called out by the Squad Leader?

It's like you've been slacking off for a week, and the manager calls on you to present a proposal. It's like you've just returned home from a foot massage, and your wife calls on you to do your homework.

The Squad Leader still called Night Light's codename.

"Fox, go keep an eye on Crane Moon Izakaya tonight."

It's over, it's still me.

Is it because I'm the most useless?

Everyone else gets to rest, but a good-for-nothing has no right to rest?

He put the Anbu vest he had just taken off back on.

This vest was not the cloth armor of ordinary Ninja, but a gray iron armor, just like Kakashi's attire when he was in Anbu in the original work.

The iron vest, however, could not provide the slightest sense of security.

After nightfall, Night Light hid in the trees at the street corner, watching the Izakaya in the distance.

At a certain moment, his eyes, hidden behind his mask, moved slightly.

Even though he was very serious and even had a premonition, he still didn't know how the Squad Leader appeared.

After the Squad Leader appeared, Night Light still shivered.

He asked the Squad Leader for money, this time shamelessly asking for three stacks.

Don't refuse what's given for free. I shed blood for Anbu, Anbu cannot mistreat me.

Upon entering Crane Moon Izakaya, Night Light still headed straight for the corner.

"Give me the most expensive sake!"

The female boss he had seen last time, carrying sake, approached Night Light with a charming smile.

Her collar was so low.

Night Light stared intently.

So big, so beautiful, why doesn't it jiggle? It ultimately lacks a bit of aesthetic appeal.

Following the same routine, he was led into a side room in the backyard, his side ribs clamped by the female boss's ample chest.

The female boss closed the door.

"Ninja-sama, do you prefer Yang Release or Yin Release?"

"I understand this, I understand it very well. Sometimes I like Yang Release, sometimes I like Yin Release. If I'm tired, it's Yin Release, you come on top. If I'm still good, it's Yang Release, I come on top!"

"Hehehe, Ninja-sama, you truly are very knowledgeable."

Night Light was teasing her verbally, but his heart was highly alert.

It moved!

Something moved!

There was something in the corner of the wall that had drilled up from underground.

The ground showed no changes, but he also knew Earth Release: Earthshock Fish Technique, and sensed the person approaching.

"I can't wait! Come on! Let's start with Yang Release!"

Night Light suddenly exerted force, tackling the female boss to the ground, lunging towards the direction of the shadow.

He pulled out a hidden Kunai from his lower back and thrust it violently between the female boss's legs.

The female boss, who had initially thought this Konoha Ninja was very impatient, suddenly saw the iron ring of the Kunai from behind Night Light's shoulder.

Oh no!

Between her legs, it felt a little cold.

As soon as she fell to the ground, she was about to exert force when she suddenly heard a muffled groan from behind her back.

Even worse!

The Kunai wasn't meant to assassinate her, but to stab her teammate underground!

Under the ground behind her back, her teammate was twitching.

It was a vital spot that was hit, most likely the heart.

This Konoha Ninja had precisely stabbed the Spy teammate's heart through the space between her legs.

A storm raged in her mind.

For her identity as a Spy, the Village had sacrificed many comrades, teammates who had accompanied her for several years, and teachers who had taught her, all died in Konoha Village.

To protect each other, she and the teammate beneath her had never met, communicating through coded signals.

Her teammate was exposed, but she absolutely could not be exposed.

The only chance to preserve her Spy identity was to pretend she knew nothing.

Exposure meant death, being discovered meant death. If she were to faint, Konoha might mistakenly assume she knew nothing, and this was her only chance.

"Oh dear!"

The female boss's back of the head hit the ground heavily, and she fainted.

Night Light clearly felt the female boss's body go limp and she fainted.

Was this woman a Spy or not? If she was a Spy, wouldn't she be afraid of him executing her directly by fainting now?

Never mind, first call the Squad Leader. The Squad Leader is still in the trees at the street corner.

Night Light left the side room, jumped onto the roof, and his figure flashed away. After giving the Squad Leader a signal, he returned to the room in the backyard.

The door was open, and a few seconds later, the Squad Leader also entered the side room.

The Squad Leader cautiously closed the door and immediately surveyed the scene: "Blood is seeping around the Kunai, there's someone underground! Fox, did you kill him?"

"Yes, Squad Leader, my Chakra nature is Earth, and I sensed someone underground, so I tried stabbing the ground with a Kunai."

The Squad Leader nodded and said, "Very good, very well done."

The Squad Leader raised his hand, and the next second, he smashed open the ground, revealing the person from underground.

He was covered in dirt, mixed with bloodstains.

After a moment of searching, the Squad Leader continued:

"He's skilled in Earth Release, and judging by his square face, he resembles someone from the Land of Earth in the northwest, possibly an Iwa Ninja Spy.

Very good, Fox, you've completed a B-rank mission.

Someone who just passed the Chunin Exams being able to complete a B-rank mission, your luck is good. Lord White Fang once said that luck is also a form of strength."

He hadn't expected his Squad Leader to have interacted with White Fang.

Kakashi saying that luck is a form of strength seemed to have come from his father, Sakumo Hatake.

Night Light corrected: "Squad Leader, my strength isn't that bad, is it?"

"If it weren't for over a thousand Ninja dying on the Land of Hot Water battlefield, and the Chunin Exams being lenient during wartime, you wouldn't become a Chunin for another three years."

Seeing that he couldn't change the Squad Leader's impression, Night Light turned to the female boss, indicating there was still a living person here.

"It's fine, the female boss has fainted."

"Squad Leader, is the female boss an Iwa Ninja Spy?"

"I don't know. First, take this man away and extract information from his mind. Following that information, we might be able to uncover a lead." The Squad Leader said:

"If this woman is a Spy, she won't be let go. I'll take the Spy first. You clean up the scene, don't let anyone see that Anbu was here, and then return to Anbu."

The Squad Leader carried the Spy and left the house.

Night Light painstakingly restored the ground and then moved the female boss onto the bed.

He took one last look at the female boss, feeling a bit regretful. Although she didn't jiggle or feel soft, she was big, what a pity.

After retrieving his equipment from the trees at the street corner, Night Light also returned to Anbu.

Pushing the corpse, Night Light and the Squad Leader delivered the corpse to the Intelligence Division.

A Yamanaka Clan Ninja took the corpse.

Night Light said: "Squad Leader, can I rest for a few days? The patrols, surveillance, and this Spy mission have made me a bit tired these past few days."

The Squad Leader initially wanted to refuse, but considering Fox's terrible strength, his presence or absence made no difference to the squad. Given that he had just completed a Spy mission, he said:

"I can give you three days to rest, but be ready for notification at any time. The Village needs people right now, so you must return to duty after three days."

"Okay, thank you, Squad Leader."

Night Light needed to try and last until the next full moon on the 15th to have a chance at resurrection.

For these 25 days, he would drag it out one day at a time.
