Chapter 1 - Providence system

A young man is riding his bike very fast, you asked why, because he has a very important delivery to make.

And when he crosses a road, a car comes very close to hitting him. He quickly moves aside and just manages to avoid the crash. In anger, the driver rolls down his window and shouts at him.

"Watch where you going idiot" young man ignores the angry driver's shouting and speeds away, not even turning back. The wind hits his face as he races through the city streets, weaving past cars and people. His focus is sharp—no time to waste.

A few minutes later, he slows down and pulls up in front of a large house with tall gates and a clean, polished driveway. He takes off his helmet and lets out a deep breath, wiping the sweat off his forehead.

He looks up at the house and say to himself with a small smile, "That was close… I'm proud of my driving skills."

He checks the delivery box on the back of his bike, tapping it lightly. "So, which delivery is left now?"

He scrolls through his phone quickly and then grins. "Oh wow, finally the last one! I'm really feeling happy."

(╥﹏╥)✧

The young man picks up the delivery box carefully and walks toward the large gate. His steps are steady, though he's a little tired from the rush.

As he reaches the gate, he stretches out his right hand and presses the small button fixed beside it.

"Ding… dong… ding."

The soft sound of the doorbell echoes.

After a few seconds, he hears footsteps from inside—slow but clear. Someone is approaching.

The sound gets louder until it stops just near the gate.

The young man straightens up, adjusts his jacket, and waits silently, holding the box firmly in both hands.

"Click."

With a soft sound, the gate slowly opens just a little.

From the small opening, a head gently peeks out.

She has long hair tied back neatly in a ponytail with a simple elastic band.

Her curious eyes look straight at the young man, observing him carefully.

And when he sees her, for a moment, he forgets to speak."

"How beautiful she is…" he thinks, frozen in place.

The girl narrows her eyes slightly, cautious but polite.

"excuse me, who you are?" she asks softly.

He hears a sweet voice in his ears.

And then he realizes that he had been staring at her for quite some time.

"Well, here's your delivery," the young man says quickly, raising his hand and showing the delivery box.

"Oh, okay. You can give it to me."

"Here you go."

The young man places the delivery box in the girl's hands, then she signs on a piece of paper. He nods and starts walking back towards his bike.

( ̄^ ̄)ゞ~ "Ahhh... Finally, the work is done."

"Now I have plenty of time to meet my sister."

"But... what time is it?" the young man says while taking out his phone.

(°ロ°)!! Huh

"How... how did it get this late?"

"Gulp!"

"I need to go."

Just as he was about to put his phone back in his pocket, a message pops up on his phone.

And the message was a bit strange.

"Congratulations, you have been chosen by Providence itself! Your destiny now aligns with the divine."

(—-—)? What?

"Providence chose me?"

"Such... a weird... message."

"Haha... Seriously, how do companies advertise their games these days? But the game's logo is cool."

"If the game turns out good, I might consider playing it, but for now..."

"I don't have any time."

He puts his phone in his pocket and starts his bike.

After wearing his helmet, he begins riding the bike.

But as he rides, his thoughts slowly drift away.

"This month, I need to pay my sister's medical fees, and I also need money for other things, but I must make sure I pay her medical fees.

As he thinks about this, there's a hint of moisture in his eyes.

But then, he thinks with determination:

"Mom, Dad, don't worry. I couldn't save you, but I promise, I will definitely save my sister. I will do everything for her."

While his mind is still processing everything, he suddenly hears a loud noise.

"HONK HONK!"

From the right, a truck comes speeding toward him. The young man doesn't even get a moment to react or understand what's happening.

The truck crashes straight into him— and it's a brutal collision.

His bike is completely shattered into pieces.

And what about the young man? His body, motionless and broken, lies on the road. Every bone in his body is crushed.

He shows no signs of life.

"But"

There was still life in him,

But that life was slowly starting to fade away.

"What happened? Am I dying? But why now? I can't die yet... I have a little sister. What will happen to her? I promised my parents... I can't die now... But my consciousness... it's becoming blurry..."

Inside the void, a young man floats in the endless darkness of the void, and the darkness is extremely quiet.

But this quietness doesn't last long.

A golden pillar of light appeared in the void,

Wrapping the young man's transparent body in its embrace.

And everything became one with it.

The young man's eyes slowly begin to twitch, and then, they gradually start to open.

But before fully opening them, he quickly brings his hand in front of his eyes. A few seconds pass as he shields them, and then, with great effort, he tries once again to open his eyes.

And finally he open them.

The first thing he sees is a huge, golden-tinted transparent screen, hovering directly in front of his body.

Moments later, words begin to materialize on the surface of that screen:

[Congratulations and welcome.\You have been chosen as the host of the Providence System]

"What is going on?"

"Didn't I have an accident? Then what am I doing here... and why is there darkness everywhere? And what's this golden screen in front of me?"

"Aaahh"

"This headache"

"And what is written on the screen'

"Providence System —"

"Wait... Providence... is this—"

The text on the golden screen changes:

[Would you like to claim your daily reward?]

[Y/N]

Seeing this thing, the young man becomes confused again.

"Daily reward? What does that mean? Will I start getting daily rewards now?"

Thinking this, he taps on "Yes".

Anyway, it's not like he ever had a choice.

The words on the golden screen change, and a golden wheel appears in front of his eyes.

The entire wheel is divided into three sections.

Light blue, labeled "Mortal Rewards", covers the largest section of the wheel.

Dark blue, labeled "Consumed Reward", takes up a smaller portion.

Golden, labeled "Divine Rewards", occupies only one percent of the entire wheel.

[The daily reward is random, and you can spin to receive your daily reward. Do you want to spin?]

[Y/N]

Seeing this, the young man taps on "Yes".

The wheel starts spinning very quickly and gradually slows down after a while.

It finally stops at the "Consumed Rewards" section.

[Congratulations, you have drawn: One life chance.]

Do you want to use it?]

[Y/N]

The young man is surprised after seeing the reward.

"Is this the thing I need the most right now?"

He doesn't know if this is the same thing he is thinking of, but still, he taps "Yes".

As soon as he presses "Yes", a golden light surrounds him, pulling the young man into its embrace. In the endless darkness, light suddenly spreads everywhere.
