Chapter 9 - The Legendary Atlantis

"Argh..." Arthur slowly woke up. He opened his eyes and surveyed his surroundings. Fortunately, he was still at the bottom of the sea and hadn't fallen into the magma of the trench volcano.

Arthur felt severe pain throughout his body, as if he were about to his entire being was about to fall apart. This was the first time he had experienced such agony since he crossed over.

Arthur laid motionless on the seafloor, absorbing energy from the sea and gradually regaining his strength. He discovered that this particular area of the ocean allowed him to absorb far more energy than the previous one, which made him very happy.

After an hour, Arthur finally stood up. Although still a little weak, he could now move freely.

Arthur didn't know where the vortex had swept him, and the surrounding environment looked no different from the previous seafloor. The seafloor was covered in hard, black, rocky mountains. There were also some strange, ugly fish that glowed, which Arthur found quite miraculous. He even saw white shrimp in the rock crevices, emitting a faint, beautiful silver light.

Arthur attempted to communicate with them but found that they possessed only simple thoughts and couldn't provide the information he sought.

Arthur swam in one direction, sensing a mysterious force calling him. It was the same force he had felt before, and Arthur wanted to investigate its source.

He continued forward, and suddenly, he saw what appeared to be light in the deep sea ahead. How could there be light at the bottom of the ocean? He swam towards the glowing area, rounded a rocky mountain, and finally saw the "thing" emitting the light.

Arthur was shocked by the sight before him. There was a massive structure, or rather, a gigantic city. The city was enormous, with a unique architectural style resembling ancient Greek temples. At its entrance stood a huge gateway, topped by a building shaped like a colossal conch. Sculptures of various fish adorned the city, and the buildings themselves were vibrantly colored due to being covered in colorful coral reefs. At the gate, two enormous sculptures depicted armored giants, human from the waist up and fish from the waist down, each holding a trident.

"This is unbelievable!" Arthur was stunned by the structures. He hadn't expected such a massive city at the bottom of the sea, and it appeared to be teeming with creatures.

Could this be the legendary Atlantis? But wasn't Atlantis from DC Comics? Was it in the Marvel world too? Arthur had never read Marvel comics, only watched the movies, but the city before him certainly looked like the mysterious underwater kingdom of Atlantis.

Arthur had always considered himself an Atlantean, a king of the sea. Consequently, he felt a mix of emotions when the real Atlantis appeared before him.

"Okay, let's go and have a look first." Arthur swam towards the mysterious city.

As he slowly approached the colossal structure, he realized it was even larger than he had initially thought. Arthur also noticed many people on the city's main thoroughfare.

"Atlanteans!" He was surprised to find Atlanteans in the Marvel world.

Arthur hid behind a stone and secretly observed the Atlanteans. Their skin was blue, and their hair was either blond or red. They lived and moved freely underwater. Their clothes were incredibly elaborate, shimmering like fish scales. Male Atlanteans wore minimal or no shorts, while the women wore very flamboyant attire. Pairs of soldiers, clad in bronze armor and wielding tridents, patrolled the city.

It seemed difficult for Arthur to sneak into the city. His skin color was too distinct in color from theirs, so he would be immediately spotted if he tried to blend in.

Just as Arthur was sneaking around the patrolling soldiers, looking for a way to enter the city, someone shouted from behind him, "Hey there! Stop! Who are you!"

To his dismay, Arthur realized it was an Atlantean, accompanied by a strange, silver fish that looked like a scout. The fish had discovered him.

The Atlantean scout, seeing Arthur's appearance, loudly warned, "It's a surface dweller! Surface dweller invasion!"

Following the scout's loud warning, several groups of soldiers emerged from the side, outflanking Arthur.

Seeing that the situation had turned sour, Arthur quickly burst forward with all his strength.

"Grab him, don't let him get away!" the Atlantean soldiers shouted as they gave chase.

Arthur, fleeing, suddenly felt a sense of danger behind him. He instinctively turned to the side, and an energy beam formed by a stream of water grazed his body, shooting past him.

Arthur turned his head to see that the tridents in their hands could fire water energy, much like laser cannons. Arthur was filled with envy; what an excellent weapon.

He continually dodged, darting left and right, with a dozen soldiers close behind, constantly firing energy water cannons from their tridents. Arthur could only maneuver flexibly to avoid them.

"This cannot go on," Arthur thought. His body hadn't fully recovered, and the relentless pressure from the soldiers meant he would eventually be caught.

Arthur gritted his teeth, suddenly spun around, rushed towards a soldier, and knocked him down with a single punch before lunging at another.

Arthur was like a tiger unleashed among sheep; none of the soldiers he engaged could withstand even a single round against him.

The surrounding soldiers, witnessing Arthur's strength, distanced themselves and began attacking him with water cannons from afar.

Arthur fought before quickly retreating, but the Atlanteans were persistent, like a contagious disease, constantly "kiting" him with water cannons, which greatly annoyed him.

While fighting, Arthur saw a large group of Atlanteans approaching from a distance, led by a commanding figure.

He heard the leader exclaim, "Get out of the way, let me deal with him!"

The surrounding soldiers ceased their attack at his command, raised their tridents, and chanted in unison: "Its the king. The king is invincible! The king is invincible! The king is invincible!"

Arthur was momentarily speechless. He hadn't expected the King of Atlantis to be summoned. Arthur carefully observed their leader as he swam closer.

The man before him was different from the other Atlanteans. He had white skin and black hair, appeared to be about 25 years old, and looked very young. He seemed no different from a normal human, well except the tiny wings on the side of his feet.

"Who are you?" Arthur asked, surprised by the human-like Atlantean.

"I am Namor McKenzie, King of Atlantis. Who are you? How can a surface dweller come here?" Namor demanded.

"My name is Arthur. If you can all live under the sea? Why can't I?" Arthur quipped.

"I know who you are now, you are that traitor's bastard!" Namor glared at Arthur, his expression fierce.

Arthur was confused. "Traitor? Bastard?"

"I'm going to capture you and throw you into the bottomless abyss!" Namor's expression became hideous.

Holding a silver trident, Namor lunged at Arthur with great speed.

Arthur turned sideways to evade the stab, grabbed the attacking trident, and kicked Namor in the chest.

The kick sent Namor flying, and the trident fell into Arthur's hands.

Arthur glanced at the trident and forcefully threw it at Namor.

Namor dodged the blow, and the trident embedded itself deep into the rocky mountain.

Namor pulled out his trident and fired a water cannon at Arthur. Namor's water cannon was far more powerful than those of ordinary soldiers.

Arthur, sensing danger from the incoming energy beam, dodged. The energy struck the rocky mountain behind him, blowing a huge hole in it, demonstrating the immense power of the water cannon.

Arthur looked enviously at the trident in Namor's hand. It was a useful weapon, capable of both melee and long-range attacks. When Arthur held it earlier, there had been no response, and he couldn't use it. Fuck
