Chapter 3 - Almost Threatened

The Next Morning – Oblivion Dorm

"Robin," Hanu appeared in the kitchen with messy hair, an oversized hoodie, and sleepy eyes. "I'm heading to the café for a bit. Need some fresh air."

Robin gave a short nod. "I'm coming with you."

"I'd rather go alone… please?"

Robin didn't respond right away. But as soon as Hanu turned his back, Robin glanced at Axel, who was munching on toast.

"Keep an eye on him from a distance. Wear a cap and mask. Don't let him out of your sight."

Axel blinked. "Wait—are you asking me to be a security guard?"

"You're his friend."

Axel opened his mouth, but one look at Robin's cold stare made him quickly nod.

"Man, this is the first time I've seen a bodyguard bossing around idols…" Axel mumbled under his breath.

Somewhere Else in Jakarta – A Private Lounge

A man dressed in all white sat on a luxurious sofa, smoking slowly. Around him stood several burly men in suits, weapons hidden beneath their jackets.

"Robin De Jordan is in Indonesia," the man said in Mandarin. "And he's guarding an idol boy… how amusing."

"Boss, should we send our men?"

The man gave a crooked smile. "That's not how I play. I want to see… just how far the leader of Red Circle will go to protect such a worthless little kid."

He stared at his phone screen, which displayed a photo of Hanu smiling behind a café window.

Later That Day – A Suburban Café

Hanu sipped his latte and scrolled through his phone, unaware that Axel sat in a far corner, hoodie pulled up.

Outside, a man in dark sunglasses snapped photos from a parked car.

And then suddenly—

CRASH!

The café door slammed open. Hanu turned his head sharply. But before the suspicious man could take another step—

Robin was already there.

No one saw when he had arrived. But the chill in his eyes froze the entire room.

"Take one more step," Robin said in a low voice, "and I swear, you won't be able to stand again."

The man froze on the spot.

"Robin?" Hanu stood up, half-nervous. "What's going on?"

Robin turned to him slowly. "We're going home. Now."

After they left, two other men approached the one in sunglasses.

"Dude… why didn't you just run?"

The man trembled. "His eyes… Robin's eyes… they weren't the eyes of a bodyguard. They were the eyes of a cold-blooded killer."

That Night – Dorm Rooftop

Hanu couldn't keep it in any longer. "You're hiding something from me… aren't you?"

Robin said nothing, gazing up at the sky.

"I'm not stupid, Robin. Since when does a bodyguard know how to intimidate someone before they even move? You're not just some regular guy..."

Robin turned to look at him, holding the silence. "I'm not a good person, Hanu. But I want to protect you… I don't want anything to happen to you."

Hanu stared at him—the man who looked cold and strong on the outside, yet fragile somewhere deep within.

"If you're not a good person… then why are you always here when I need you?"

Robin's gaze deepened. "Because... it's my job."

And under the Jakarta sky, Hanu simply lowered his head. He didn't need more answers. Silence was enough... and so was the sound of two heartbeats that understood each other.

The night wind blew gently, sweeping Hanu's hair like a whisper. On that rooftop, it was just the two of them—surrounded by the shimmering lights of Jakarta and the quiet that hung like a secret.

Robin leaned against the railing, his eyes still searching the night, hiding something darker than the sky itself. And yet… Hanu felt safe.

"Robin…" Hanu's voice was soft, almost stolen by the wind.

Robin didn't reply. But he knew Hanu wasn't finished.

"I don't know why you always show up when I need you. But every time you're near, I feel… safe. Even when you're quiet. Even when you're angry. And… I'm sorry for not listening earlier."

Robin finally turned. "That feeling of safety… it can be deceiving."

Hanu took a small step closer. "But you've never lied about protecting me. And that's enough for me."

A gust of wind blew stronger. The hoodie Hanu wore slipped slightly, exposing the pale skin of his neck. He tried zipping it up, but his fingers struggled with the zipper.

Robin watched him for a moment, then—without a word—moved closer. Very close. He took the zipper in his rough, calloused hands and pulled it up slowly, until Hanu's hoodie was snug again.

They were close. Too close.

Their faces were just a breath apart. Hanu froze. His heartbeat thudded loud in his chest.

And for some reason… Robin didn't pull away.

Their eyes met. Robin's cold stare softened, melted for a moment—then froze once more.

Hanu parted his lips, about to say something—But Robin had already stepped back.

"It's late. You should get some sleep," he said calmly, as if nothing had happened.

Yet Hanu could still feel the ghost of Robin's fingers on his neck.

"Robin…" he called again, softly.

Robin gave a quick glance over his shoulder. "Be careful of the night wind. You're still prone to colds."

Then he walked away, descending the rooftop stairs with that same steady, unreadable presence.
