Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Inheritance Game Begins

A week passed.

Do-jun's name, once ignored in the family group chats, was suddenly being mentioned—quietly, cautiously.

The tutors had filed glowing reports to Jin Yang-chul.

"Unbelievable memory retention."

"Asks the kind of questions you'd expect from a college student."

"If I didn't know better, I'd say he was trained by intelligence officers."

Yang-chul chuckled to himself in the study, swirling a cup of ginseng tea. He stared at the family chart pinned on his wall—with red strings linking divisions, positions, and bloodlines like a detective caseboard.

And at the bottom-right corner, where Do-jun's name used to be scribbled in pencil, he now drew a bold red circle around it.

That same morning, Do-jun received a personal letter. A formal, stamped envelope, sealed with gold.

From the Legal Affairs Department of Sunyang Group.

His mother opened it with trembling hands.

"It says… Do-jun has been added to the internal inheritance training program," she read aloud.

Jin Run-ki almost dropped his spoon.

"He's what?!"

Do-jun already knew this was coming. After all, it was in the past.

Or rather—his past life.

The Inheritance Training Program was Sunyang's secret curriculum to groom successors.

It wasn't for the faint-hearted. Business simulations, economic theory, international negotiation, legal warfare—it was like being thrown into the deep end of the corporate ocean, and told to learn how to breathe.

And Do-jun couldn't wait.

Meanwhile, the news caused ripples.

Chen Yong-gi nearly snapped his fountain pen in half when he heard.

"That little brat? Inheritance training? Does Father want us to raise a pet now?"

Chen Dong-gi, as always, was calmer. But his eyes held a glint of concern.

"This isn't just favoritism," he muttered. "Father only opens the program when he sees true potential."

Even Chen Seong-jun, their own heir apparent, was shaken.

He had already started being groomed to lead Sunyang.

And now, the forgotten cousin—Do-jun—was being fast-tracked onto his turf.

The first day of the program began in the Sunyang Tower's 48th floor conference room.

The only other child present was Seong-jun.

He looked at Do-jun like someone had dragged a random street kid into the royal palace.

"This isn't a daycare," he scoffed.

Do-jun smiled politely. "Don't worry, hyung. I won't cry if the numbers get too hard."

The instructors arrived.

Not just tutors. But CEOs. Retired judges. Foreign diplomats. A former IMF advisor.

They all looked at the two boys in silence.

Then the lead instructor placed a thick folder on the table.

"Case Study One: A hostile takeover of a rival conglomerate. Your team has 72 hours."

Seong-jun blinked. "Wait… that's real?"

"Very real. And if you make the wrong move, Sunyang loses 300 billion won."

Do-jun opened the folder and scanned the data calmly.

He had done this exact simulation before.

In his last life.

Only this time, he wouldn't fail.

He would dominate.

That night, while Seong-jun panicked and messaged his father for help, Do-jun leaned back in his chair, eyes closed, visualizing the perfect counterstrategy.

"Let the games begin," he whispered.
