Isabella stared at the gilded envelope in her hand. Her name was written in an elegant, swirling script—but what truly made her heart freeze wasn't her name. It was the names printed beneath the golden seal:
Adrian Carter & Emily Bennett
Wedding Invitation.
Her fingers tightened around the envelope until it crumpled. The very idea that Adrian—her ex-husband—was now marrying the woman who once destroyed her life, was a punch to the gut.
"Just when I thought they couldn't sink any lower," she muttered.
Luna peeked over her shoulder and saw the invitation. "What the hell? They had the audacity to invite you?"
"Looks like they want to flaunt their so-called happiness. Or maybe they're just trying to provoke me."
"But why now? The news of your return is everywhere. This is deliberate," Luna said, pacing angrily.
Isabella tossed the crumpled envelope onto the table. "Good. Let them think I'll be silent. Let them believe I'm the same woman they used and discarded."
"What are you going to do?" Luna asked cautiously.
Isabella's red lips curled into a cold smile. "I'm going to accept the invitation."
Luna's eyes widened. "You're attending their wedding?"
"Absolutely," Isabella said. "But not as the abandoned ex-wife. I'll be there as the powerful woman they underestimated. I'll show up looking like a queen—and remind Adrian exactly what he lost."
Luna grinned. "Now that's the Isabella I know."
Isabella's mind was already working. She would need the perfect dress, the right moment, and a way to make her appearance unforgettable.
After all, revenge was a dish best served at a wedding.
