CHAPTER 5
Seeing Bob enter, Bianca found him different from the beginning. His skin, his breath and his confidence was different. She had only seen such confidence in ministers of the state who held power. No, this was a different king of confidence. She understood it. She had only seen such confidence in Major Owen who was a frontline special officer. A strong confidence in personal strength and defiance on the world, this was the second man who she had seen with such confidence in.
She had planned to not show much respect to the friends of her fiancee. James was just a lucky person as none of the men of his generation wanted to step into business as they all wanted to work hard for their personal career they had chosen.
But since her family and her fiancee's family was a traditional family and she was going to stay a long time with him, she just wanted to invest emotions in him to let him love her and let him be indebted to him. But if her actions to help his friends does make him connected to someone as strong as Major Owen, even if he was not as strong as Major Owen but had some kind of strength in any one aspect, it might not be bad to have relation with him. If he was without any skill, she shall back out from the investment.
She stood up and smiled and said, "You should be James' friend. I am Bianca, James' fiancee."
Bob nodded and said, "Hello Bianca, I am Bob, James' friend. This is Sarah and Freya."
Sarah and Frey nodded to Bianca and after they sat down, James spoke, "Where is Lily?"
Bianca smiled and said, "I gave her a day off."
James nodded and said, "This is your favourite rose-wine which you always dreamt of drinking."
Bob smiled and pushed his glass towards James who poured the wine for him. Bob, took a sip of wine and said, "It is good."
Freya asked, "Why did you want to drink the Rose-wine always? Have you had it before? "
Bob shook his head and said, "No, it was the favorite drink of Liana and she is my most favourite celebrity."
James asked in doubt, "Which Liana? I have not heard of any celebrity named Liana."
Bob smiled and said, "She is the headmistress in the movie Mythos academy. I like the way she drinks the wine in the movie. She was the first public figure for the wine."
Bianca chuckled and asked, "Are you telling me that your favourite actress was from 25 years ago."
Bob nodded and said, "Mythos academy is my favourite franchise even though it was an old book and the movies related to it is old. But the storyline is well done, the character designs are perfect and power system is logically consistent unlike other franchises."
James smiled and said, "But she is 55 years old now."
Bob smiled and said, "I like the character she played and the image she had in the movie is what I remember. I do not consider the favourite celebrity as the love of my life and work hard dreaming of them as the only abode in the world. She is just an image I like and look up to and I do not mind to change it."
Bob sat with a single leg over his other leg and held the wine cup using a single finger, drinking the wine. The strength should not be too high the break the cup but should not be too less to let it fall. The balance should be strong enough to hold it and drink it. All four of them smiled as he had indeed reacted the act where the headmistress who was the priestess under the goddess of fortune drank the wine while the ambassador of the mermaid kept babbling. Bob simply used energy to balance the glass.
Bianca said, "You have good control over your fingers. Are you by chance a marital artist?"
James chuckled and said, "Martial artist! Him! He is nothing more than a nerd who kept learning."
Freya smiled and said, "Yeah, he tried to exercise with Sarah in the morning but he stopped after 2 days."
Sarah smiled and said, "Yeah, I had really thought that you would play alongside me everyday in the morning."
Bob shook his head and said, "There is a difference between martial artists and fitness enthusiast. Let us not talk about us. What are your future plans James? Do you no longer plan to go along with the startup we had in mind."
Sarah shook her head and said, "We never had any idea about startup. We planned to have a startup in our last year of degree but we had no idea unique to us."
Bob said, "our plan to make the fps game was good enough."
Freya asked, "How many would we need to hire? How long would we need to build it? Can it stand alongside the products of the well established companies."
James sighed and said, "Your idea of building a password holder application was indeed good but one cannot speak how useful would it be. But if you were willing to monetize your language translator, it might indeed be enough for many."
Bob sighed and said, "Our market researched showed otherwise, no one in our republic of Circe needs such thing. While it is indeed good enough to be used for official purposes, the fact remains that such offices have enough translators who are well versed in such languages. As for companies, which company would need to mass translate documents from one language to another. Only in that case does such a translator seem useful."
Biance smiled and said, "Do you know about readthenovel.circe site? Thousands of webnovels are added to such a site. The revenue from 400 million people who read is about 5 billion per year and they just have to spent a few money to buy a server, pay the writers, buy out the IP and make movies and anime alongside other entertainment studio. If you really have a good translator, you can extract enough novels from other countries from similar sites by making connection with them and letting such translated content, flood the site created by you. You have already registered the patent right."
Bob smiled and said, "I was the one who made this algorithm and had already published it. It belongs to me. I have also built a small application with this idea as core and registered patent even on the idea of AI translator. Even if it is worthless, it shall belong to me."
Bianca said, "You should know that there are limits to how much the imagination of humanity is. Even if they write about magical worlds like Mythos academy, the problem remain that the political background and social interactions remain the same. A proper wise person an see pattern in all such things. But imagination also goes beyond limit when they right fiction. There is a whole market available if you can make enough connection and if you buy enough IP."
Sarah asked, "Will it work? It appears to be a good idea for me if it makes good enough money."
James shook his head and said, "It will not work in the manner you expect. Sites such as readthenovel.circe can make enough revenue as they are well established. The writers can interact with the readers and most of the readers are already attracted to this site. Even then, the number of readers are very less and the ones willing to pay are even lesser. Then the good IP which the site has control over as writers who do not right over such IP is not given minimum payment or exposure. They just exist as just another book. So most of the money is made through movies and anime and other items related to such stories. So if we create such a site, we will not have right over IP related to such stories, people will not be willing to read translations as such writings appear more mechanic than that of a fiction. Who will be willing to pay to read it?"
Bianca smiled and said, "If we have enough exposure, we can make some money by showing advertisements. Even though such site would not get you 5 billion a year, it would not be hard to earn a 100 million per year or so. That is not a small amount of money. Why always aim for the best when your idea can indeed make enough money? Even if you find such an idea without a future, you can lease your application to well established site and earn 10 or 20 million a year."
Even though James's car cost 20 million, that was due to him taking over the position of family representative in the business. 20 million a year is a big amount of money.
Bob smiled and said, "Business is not all about making an item and expecting customers to appear. I have no experience in dealing with representative of other companies or to pitch in a deal to let them want to buy my item. Even taking a loan to built something that has not been built is not good enough for me."
James smiled and said, "The start-up will have the help from the college and that was our plan as even if we fail, we will not lose much as the risk is shared by the college."
Bianca asked, "Why do you care about the risk? You hold many rights in the company although not all rights have been given to you. If you fear risk, how about you sell the patent to me Bob."
Bob smiled and said, "That is enough jokes for the night. Let us talk about something serious."
Bianca said, "I am serious. I do not mind buying out your patent for 100 million. If you do not mind selling it, I do not mind buying exclusive right to your application in this country for 20 years for 20 million. Although it appears to be too low, you have no other choice. You have no connections and you do not plan to take the risk to start a company. 20 million is all I can give. "
Bob thought about the offer. He had indeed thought about his future direction. Having such power and then working for someone else for a measly 00,000 per month as an elite national level talent was not something he wanted even if with his developed brain, he could indeed achieve it effortlessly. He wanted to be independent and the only way that appeared for him was business. He planned to walk on the path of bureaucracy as even if his parents gave him all the savings of 12 million which they had saved to let him buy a house to do business, it was not enough to start a business in the city. Even if he somehow let them believe him and he opens a business in the town they reside in rather than this city, he was not sure to let him conduct the business he had in mind.
For him who had aura and whose aura had the feature of matter creation needed by the body in which the energy reside, the best option was to start an agricultural kind of business. Even if he became a farmer, he would not need to worry about fertilizer or pesticide. He would not need to pay too much to buy higher yield breeds as his aura would enhance the body and products whether it be plants or animals.
His first idea was to start a dairy farm as a nearly grown cow only cost about 80,000 and with enough aura fed, they would not be sick nor need food. The only need would be clean the shed where the cows were grown. With his aura, even an ordinary cow of his would produce more than 20 liters of average genetic modified cows reaching beyond the limit of higher yield cows with 30 litre of milk. He just needed to overfed with aura as unlike overfed food, overfed aura would only strengthen them further making them produce more.
He without spending any more money after buying a cow, he could get about 1000 per day, as a litre of pure milk without adulteration cost about 50 rubbles. Even the toned one with water mixed would cost about 30 rubbles per half litre.
He was sure to get back the money spend on the cow within 80 days and as long as he has enough money to build a shed and buy some cows, he can get enough money.
But the problem remained that, he had no connection to sell the milk. But he was sure that once he gets back the capital, a single cow would get him 30,000 per month as a profit while even the senior programmer would only gain 50,000 per month while it was hard for freshers to get 10,000 per month.
The problem for such an establishment was that it was not enough to get a single cow and for the diary companies to buy milk from him, he would need enough milk production per day. He was not living in the village with milk being delivered to each person. The most minimum needed was about 30 cows and he would need to built a big facility farther away from the city, mostly near the highway towards the industrial area outside the city. He would also need to buy the machines needed to milk the cow and barrels. Such an establishment along with the cost needed for the land and building would surely cost about 15 million and even if he just rent the land, it would be hard to get a good building good enough for his shed and if he just lent some free land, he would need to rent it for five years at the least and would need to build the shed by himself.
The investment is too much. It would appear to simply buy some land and sow some seeds after infusing aura, but farming also needed techniques and if he was to empty some farmers, after harvesting, he was not sure to get enough for such products. He sighed as everywhere, he was bound by connections.
He planned to step into agricultural industry as his power was best in that direction if he was not going to use his pure strength to conquer the world as an overlord. But these were not the old times when personal strength was worshiped.
So he had to decided and he decided that he shall write the civil service exam and shall buy enough land and hire some farmers. He was sure to pass the national bureaucrat exam, and the ones who pass this exam is given training and the position of a district head at the start.
He was sure to pass the exam and this money was indeed a good start-up fund for him. He might be losing out here, but this money was useful for him. So what if he had waited for another three years, an MNC would give him a billion or more for the application. Even if he uses that money to buy a pig farm, that would be a better investment as his aura can ensure that all the pigs will grow up to a fully grown body with enough mass. Even if he buys the young pigs costing 2000 rubbles, he can sell the fully grown pig at 120,000 or more. Unlike other pig farmer, he will not have to feed them with food, will not need a vet to take care of them, will not need to worry about losing 20%-30% of the pigs to death while growing up and would not need to worry that all pigs have enough flesh.
He had found that with excess aura, plants and animals grow faster. So a pig that took 6-7 months will grow up in at least 3-4 months due to excess energy. This was indeed the best venture for him if he had someone to sell the pigs to. But he was sure that people will surely buy his pigs if they are sold at a 1000 rubbles lower and when they find that quality of pork is high enough, they will surely want to buy it.
He shook his head. Even though pig farm was indeed the best method to make enough profits as if he bought a 1000 pigs for 2 million and built a small facility in a village, and after paying transportation cost, even if he sells it for 10 rubbles lower than the market price per kg, he can get about 100 million after selling them and can get a profit of 90 million.
Bob's speed of thought had grown due to his increased aura so when he had heard his offer, all his thought had not took even a second for him. But the thought of using the 20 million he could gain to make 90 million in 6 months at the most and the possibility that he could make more in the next years or so, let him be happy.
Seeing his excitement, James doubtfully asked, "You are not going to foolishly sell it to her right. You have spoken that your parents will be willing to put in five million for you to open a company right."
Bob nodded and said, "While that is true, the problem remains that possibility is just a possibility. 20 million is more than enough to let me start the business I have in mind."
James asked, "What business?"
Bob said, "That cannot be spoken out for now. Most likely it will fail, but I always wanted to try it once, that is why I never spoke about it to you."
Bianca said in a serious manner, "Your eyes speak otherwise."
Bob said, "If I have faith in my gambling talent and I plan to gamble does not mean that I can let that faith be used to let my friends gamble alongside me, The risk is too high."
Bianca asked, "What is your decision? If you want to start a business, I am willing to invest."
Bob smiled and said, "There is no need for that now. I am willing to sell you the exclusive right but with the added condition that you cannot reissue the application and cannot re-lease the application to other companies."
Bianca sighed thinking that this man did not know how to take on an offer. He could have become the director of a new subsidy of a company under their group and with his complete ownership over the application which was the core of the new group, no one could replace him. Was he wrong about him.
Sarah and Freya had to doubt whether Bob was drunk but he was not as he would have to work hard for 3 years at the minimum before the profits are maximized. But by then, if he is really willing to take care of the pig business, he was sure to get more than enough money within 3 years. He could use that money to create another chain business later.
So he simply said, "I am willing to take the 20 million deal."
Bianca smiled and said, "Deal."
Both of them smiled and clinked their glasses of wine. Both of them had got what they had wanted. This was a real win-win deal.
That night was later spent on simple chat and food and wine. The papers related to the patent usage was to be signed later.
